Joining me right now is cfra chief investment strategist sam stovall, fox business Dagen Mcdowell and the wall street journal assistant Editorial Page EditorJames Freeman. Great to see you guys, welcome. Happy to be here. Maria sam, let me kick it off with you. Lets talk gdp because Goldman Sachs is out with new report, raising outlook to 35 growth up from estimate of 30 . We heard from nancy lazar on the program. Shes said the same thing. What do you think of 35 gdp in the Third Quarter and where does it go from there . Sam i think thats a possibility. Thats really going to be driven by a near 40 climb in personal spending but supported by a 17 and a half percent jump in capital spending, so we are going to be seeing strength recovering across the board and lets not even talk about retail sales which are expected to be up almost 70 in the Third Quarter. Maria wow, just really a lot of arithmetic given contraction in second quarter. Where does this go after massive down spat in second quarter, what does Third Quarter and 2021 look like to you . The Fourth Quarter and end of 2021 are expected to be pretty good. Growth are forecasted 6 and a half percent by the Fourth Quarter which is really 2 and a half times what we got in the quarter prior to the covid shutdown and then if you look to to 2021, our expectations are 5 and a half percent increase in real gdp supported by what the fed said lower for longer and were counting that in years, not months. Maria yeah, we need the Economic Activity to fire up again. Now people are returning to work, j. P. Morgan chase moving to bring senior traders and salespeople back to the office after remotely working since march. Company executives inperson work will begin september 21st. What do you think about this . Jp morgan ordering employees back to trading desk, sam . Sam i think we will be seeing this throughout the business arena and companies are reopening but they are also reopening and telling employees that if you feel concerned, you have family issues, and so forth, then you can continue to work remotely, so the economy is slowly reopening, but at the same time management is being respectful of the worries as well as responsibilities that these employees have. Maria yeah, James Freeman, leave it to jamie dimon to rip off the band aid and say, here is a date for you to be back in the office september 21st . Yeah, thats right. Im curious what it means for the rest of the economy and weve obviously seen a lot of analysis and guessing about how cities come back, what happens to commercial real estate. Here you have a company thats really full of knowledge workers who you would think could work remotely, they just crushed it last quarter and yet they think theres a value in having everyone together in an office in a city. Maria yeah. Exactly. And sam, i wonder if jp morgan is going to be a catalyst for other firms to say, put down an order to come back to work. Sam well, i think so. They are simply voicing what other companies are thinking to try to bring back people because, you know, you have more of a Community Feeling when you are working with your peers, also the spontaneous share of ideas i think allows for greater research, et cetera. Im not surprised at all that Companies Want to get back to as close to normal as possible. Maria yeah, Dagen Mcdowell, i know we will talk about this in the next block but let me get your take on the growth story because we are still fighting over stimulus plan right, and i wonder if the fourthquarter numbers are lower than what people expected because we dont have the extra stimulus. We will see about that . Dagen to democrats care about working men and women who are unemployment, the answer is no, you had the democrats who slammed down the gops kind of thin stimulus bill blocked by democrats in the senate, so thats where the democrats stand on that. They only will pass something, again, the democrats want aid to states, a trillion dollars in aid to the states, places that cant get their act together like new york and other blue states, they wanted a trillion dollars to bail out the cities who were in a financial hole because of their own local leadership. I will add one thing about jp morgan, there are a lot of the firms particular in new york city and large areas that are also telling their workers to come back and its not just the big banks, its also other large corporations, particularly corporations with global presences. That seems to be one of the Big Communications issues that the firms are having, where you have a Global Workforce and having people work from home makes it very difficult in terms of creative thinking, ideas and also communication management. Maria yeah. So sam, wrap us up here, in terms of the broad backdrop, real quick, sam, do you worry that things slow down in we dont get an agreement on a stimulus . No, i dont. I think that while investors are encouraged that congress is being dragged along grudgingly to what the fed has already done, the focus really is on the fed on the Interest Rates and the ability to support the overall economy. Now the focus is will the economy and corporate earnings will come and meet what the expectations are. Maria yes, 0 Interest Rates have a big, big impact there. Sam, good to see you this morning. Thank you so much, sir, we will talk with you soon. Sam stovall. The Company Reported better than expected fiscal firstquarter results, sales were up from a year earlier and it is benefiting from the push to the cloud amid the coronavirus pandemic and shutdown. Oracle shares up. Trump Campaign Communications director erin is here. Shes next talking about President Trump to battleground state of michigan. Rick scott joining me on swing state voting. All remembering september 11th, i will be speaking with major giuliani and in the 8 00 a. M. Hour former New York Stock Exchange ceo dick grasso will join me as we look back as the country changed forever. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Maria welcome back, the battle for michigan is on. President trump making Campaign Stop in battleground state last night touting his record on job creation. He took a jab at his democratic rival joe biden as well. Watch. Joe biden devoted his career to offshoring michigans jobs but weve changed it around. We have a very much Different Party than 4 years ago. We are the party of the workers. We will grow american jobs and wages. We will rapidly return to full employment soaring incomes and record prosperity. Maria meanwhile biden unveiled made in america plan in michigan earlier in the week. Joining me right now trump president ial campaign rip kill principal communication director, erin. Do you think the president got his message across last night . Absolutely. President trump delivered very strong proamerica, promessage. County saw 12,000 vote swings to president obama and President Trump in 2016. Its the bluecollar job county that we see in michigan that took a chance on President Trump. He stood up and touted accomplishments bringing back almost half of the jobs lost during coronavirus in michigan and thats the message thats really going to resinate. Joe biden keep having empty events with empty promises and not delivering for michiganders the way trump has. Maria the president is hearing to nevada next, where is the campaigns focus headed to in november . Tell me where the crux of the platform is . We will be all across the country like you mentioned the president will be going to nevada. Im in iowa in team trump on tour bus. The families going to pennsylvania and michigan, ohio, wisconsin, florida, georgia, arizona, but the message is clear. We want to be able to talk directly to voters safely about what President Trump has been able to deliver on the economy. People took a real chance on donald trump in 2016. They wanted an outsider, someone who would fight for them and they got that. Now you are seeing it day after day where the president sees onslaught from the media and the left about the job hes doing for the American People. Its our job to get out there and talk to supporters, recruit volunteers and get the message locally to people about whats at stake between President Trumps proamerica message and prodelivery versus joe biden who kowtowed to china for decades. Maria it looks like joe biden is taking pages out of President Trumps book. Lets face it. Hes now talking about, you know, america and Jobs Creation in america. He also has an article in the journal this morning talking about his team saying that hes going to be tough on china. Thats exactly the president s platform. Well, its good to see that joe biden yet again who has a history is doing the same thing here in 2020 because hes not a proamerica agenda. Youve seen his voting record. People dont have to guess. He helped to bring them in world strayed organization and give them nation status and for him to have split and cost of american jobs and shows what a flipflopper joe biden is. You see it time and again. Just yesterday he said he does not support nafta and he voted for it. He support usmca. Maria all right, we will keep watching, erin, thank you so much, erin perrine joining us on Trump Campaign. Tiktok faces a deadline. President trumps message to Company Coming up. Calling on the mayor, ceos across are urging de blasio to get busy and fix new york city, their message, their letter right after this. Dont forget your lunch im making pizza on kings hawaiian mini subs. Yum kings hawaiian. Im a sustainability science researcher at amazon. Climate change is the fight of our generation. The biggest obstacle right now is that were running out of time. Amazon now has a goal to be net zero carbon by 2040. We dont really know exactly how we are going to get there. Its going to be pretty hard. But one way or another were going to reduce our Carbon Footprint to net zero. I want my son to know that i tried my hardest to make things better for his generation. I buy my own rocks thatand i flaunt it st rolling through the streets so stunning you know im a diamond honey im a celebrate this feeling watch me while i break the ceiling you know that unstoppable feeling so ima showem how im shinin walking bold. Powered by the largest gig Speed Network in america. But is it secure . Sure its secure. And even if the power goes down, your connection doesnt. So how do i do this . You dont do this. We do this, together. Bounce forward, with comcast business. Maria welcome back, fixing new york city. 160 Business Leaders and ceos from all 5 boroughs sending letter to mayor bill de blasio urging him to create a clear workable plan to bring the city back to life. The letter reads in part this, we need to send strong consistent message our employees, customers and clients visitors will be coming back to healthy Work Environment and we urge you to take immediate action to restore essential services as necessary precursor for the citys longerterm economic challenges. This is from the leadership of business in new york, Dagen Mcdowell, as you know, de blasio wants 9 billion before hes going to return any services because he says the coronavirus caused that hole in the budget. Dagen we know thats a steaming pile of horse manure. Its one to have biggest issues, the Manhattan District Attorney for 4 and a half years has not prosecuted quality of life crimes and so what you have is, you dont have people who are in the streets. They are not prosecuted, they are not even issued tickets for creating what is essentially an open sewer in new york city. You had a kneejerk reaction that police disbanded plainclothes unit who got illegal guns off the street and targeted violent crime, arrests are down 13 but shootings just over Labor Day Weekend were up 50 . To all these ceos, this is a lot of talk, what about the walk . What are they going to do because the mayor and the da in manhattan and the governor most surely will do nothing in regard to this letter. So what are they going to do to fix new york city . Are they going to take those jobs and move them somewhere else because if youre asking employees to come back to new york city and work here, that is unfair. They deserve to live in places where they are not stepping over human excrement in the street. Its on the 6 30 dont care. I went to cvs on saturday morning and there was human excrement and i asked Police Officers did you arrest the guy, did you give the guy a ticket. No, what are we going to do. Even looters that we arrested this year they were right back out on the street to rob again. Thats the environment we live in. Maria well, i mean, putting the disgust aside in terms of what you just described, the safety issues for me are really the big important issue and i think for families and and women and men everywhere james. You dont want to come back to a city where you feel afraid to put your key in the door, afraid to get into a car that someone is going to hold you up, but youre seeing crimes skyrocket. First issue, he needs to be focus on is security. James yes, absolutely right. The mayor has tolerated a lot of lawlessness especially this summer and thats why you have seen bidding wars for housing in the suburbs in the new york area because you have a lot of people who are just not comfortable being in the greatest city in the world anymore and you hope that it doesnt have to get as bad as it was in the pregiuliani days in terms of crime, lawlessness for the Political Leadership to get the message, but this letter from the ceos is another effort to say, you know people want the excrement free on the streets. Dagen when i talk about the quality life offenses like people using relieving themselves in public, its all part of the same thing, that you had the da years ago step away from basically step back from prosecuting quality of life crimes and that sends a message to people that, oh, it doesnt matter. We dont really care about what the streets are like. We dont care that they are covered in filth. We will not stand with law enforcement. Its the downward spiral i talked about for years here and this is where we are. I had to run in my building twice this morning as i was trying to walk my dogs because there were people in the street who were out of their minds and dangerous and so thats where we are and theres nobody to protect people who cant defend themselves. Maria yeah, youre absolutely right. The new york situation is personal for all of us. We live there. We work there, but look at san francisco. Look at los angeles, look at chicago, same issue. Dagen yeah. Maria all of the cities, you have to point to policy because its all the democratrun cities that are crumbling right now. Dagen yes, indeed. So maybe move your employees hey, all you ceos who signed letter move to nashville or raleigh, North Carolina or texas. James its getting crowded from all the new york refugees. Maria yeah, look, we are seeing a flight, by the way, we are seeing it happen right now. We will keep on it as you know. On the east coast. The nasdaq is up 105 and s p higher by 28. This on top of another technology fueled selloff yesterday. The dow industrials down another 405 points at the close yesterday. The nasdaq was down 221. Keep in mind, even with the recent losses the nasdaq is still up better than 21 year to date. Global markets this morning in europe, take a look, its a mixed story. Ftse 100 is higher but the cac quarante are lower fractionally. The uk economy rebounding. Gdp up 6. 6 recently in the month of july. In asia overnight, it was green across the board. Take a look at asian markets here. All of the majors up about 3 quarters of a percent with the exception of the kospi which was just flat. A new warning against cyberattacks ahead of the november election. Jackie deangelis with the details. Thats right, it includes the same russian Government Group that breached the Democratic Party in 2016. Microsoft says the group has targeted at least 200 organizations tied to 2020 election. While china and iran are both said to be engaged in cyberattacks against President Trump and joe bidens campaign. Microsoft says it has blocked most of the attempts. I grew up with century 21. Its too bad to see. A story that we have been talking about all week and Evan Greenberg joined us yesterday about the Business Interruption insurance. Seeing a whole lot of claims over that. Thank you so much, jackie. Century 21 closing its doors. All right, swing states sweep stake, President Trump holding Campaign Rally yesterday in freeland, michigan following Vice President bidens visit to the state this week. Take a listen. If biden wins, china wins. If biden wins, the mob wins. If biden wins, the rioters, anarchists, flag burners win, but i wouldnt worry about it because hes not winning. [cheers and applause] maria the most recent detroit news poll showing the Vice President is leading by 5 points in a state that President Trump narrowly won in 2016. Joining me right now the publisher of the federalist ben domenech, how do you think the president will perform in states like michigan and wisconsin . Well, i think that theres a very clear momentum on the part of the president in these critical states over the past couple of weeks and a lot of that has to do, i think, with a bad bet that joe biden and his campaign made this summer effectively turning this whole campaign into one that would have to do with what they view as a lackluster response to the coronavirus. I think that the story lines here have really changed and now the election is turning into one thats more about lawlessness and lockdown. As you heard the president saying there, you know, the message that basically the people who have really racked these communities with violence, arson and the like, they would be winners under Biden Administration and would get away with this type of thing as you were talking in earlier segment. That lawlessness is not something that voters tend to tolerate and thats why you see momentum thats taking place in pennsylvania, michigan and wisconsin with this race tightening. The president is going to be going to minnesota and wisconsin next week. I think clearly hes targeting these states with a mind on them being the deciding factor here. Maria yeah, no, i think youre right and certainly the president has called himself the law and order candidate from the getgo. But do you find it odd that now joe biden is basically talking about the same exact policies that the president has been running on and ran on in 2016 like putting america first, offshoring, putting jobs back on the manufacturing line in america, taking them out of places like china. Hes also article in the journal, his team telling people that he will be tough on china. Isnt that interesting that these are exactly President Trumps policies . Ben they find the policies to be appealing in the way that biden is trying to advance them because they understand how much they appeal to voters. Look, the Biden Campaign i think made a real mistake of going down the line that we will be the lockdown candidates, and thats why you see him in the past couple of days in the few interviews that he does, even the softball questions that he gets, pulling back from the things hes been saying, dismissing, for instance, Kamala Harris comments about being nervous about taking a vaccine, saying that the National Mask mandate, well, thats not really constitutional so we would try to convince people to do it. The question sort of is, i think hes going to run on here is basically policies that mimic President Trump in many different respects because they understand the popularity that they have in the state that is they lost so narrowly last time. Maria just keep mudding the waters of who wants what. Dagen hey, ben, good to see you this morning. What do you get back from the debates coming up . Bret baier interviewing one of the biden spokes people i think it was tj and bret ask him repeatedly does biden use teleprompters and it is a talking point for Trump Campaign why couldnt the spokesman push back on that and say, no, he doesnt use a teleprompter when, say, hes doing q a with voters because there was an episode which was very apparent that the answers were written in the teleprompter but, again, hes not going to have a safety net when he debates the president. What can we expect . Ben first off, dagen, the only excrement i want to be hearing is about our child who should be any day. Thanks a lot for that. Im sorry that you had to deal with that. [laughter] ben shows how much this media environment has treated joe biden and his entire campaign with kid gloves. They havent answered any of the tough questions so for me the debates are really going to be about what is joe biden going to say. I know what the president is going to say. Hes going to be the same person that we see on the campaign trail but we havent gotten a glimpse on what joe bidens answer to any of the basic questions are going to be. I dont know what joe bidens attitude is at this moment toward Foreign Policy and what does he think about the decisions that were made and what does he think about pulling troops back, i would like to see him answering that without going teleprompter which is a basic viable question that the spokesman tj should have been prepared for. He tried to spin bret when he was asking fair questions. Any middle of the road voter who should wand answers of who they are going to vote for in november. Maria of course, what about the minority vote, ben. Lets look at the sunshine state, for example. President trump leading among florida latinos, according to latest nbc poll, President Trumps lead joe biden by 4 points among that demographic. This is a 15point jump for the president from 2016 when Democrat Hillary Clinton led the group. Your take on latinos as well as the africanamerican vote out there. Ben look, we know that joe biden has been someone who has enormous amount of respect among the africanamerican Voting Community and, of course, i think hes going to be able to have some they decided effectively, the democratic nomination. Hes going to have a good backing from them but consistently underperformed among hispanic voters and it wasnt just something that was fictional or talking point or anything like that. We saw it in our coverage during the primary in the states where he really just could not get the level of excitement from hispanic voters. Its a real problem for him in a state critical as florida and this is in part the consequence of this message that the president has been putting out there about the level of socialism within the Democratic Party, something that turns off a lot of latino voters who come from both cuba, puerto rico, venezuela and south america, thats why i think you saw the deployment of Kamala Harris yesterday and they are going to continue to have to work hard to reach out to that community. Maria yeah, theyve seen socialism up close and personal. Their families have. Ben, its great to get your insights as always, thank you, sir. Ben domenech from the federalist this morning. This morning Amusement Park owners begging Governor Cuomo for the groan light to reopen once again, the Staggering Amount of money they are losing every day coming up. Stay with us. So youre a Small Business, or a big one. You were thriving, but then. Oh. Ah. Okay. Plan, pivot. How do you bounce back . You dont, you bounce forward, with serious and reliable internet. Powered by the largest gig Speed Network in america. But is it secure . Sure its secure. And even if the power goes down, your connection doesnt. So how do i do this . You dont do this. We do this, together. Bounce forward, with comcast business. Maria welcome back, Amusement Park owners are on their roller coaster ride, lucas park begging to allow the cony island favorite to reopen. Owners threatening a Class Action Lawsuit if they do not hear back at the end of the month. Joining us runna park us luna park owners. Tracee, why is opening the gate so important . Well, thank you for having us, maria, and thank you for shedding light on this issue. Its extremely important to open up these, you know, gates because our livelihoods are at stake and right now the industry, the entire Amusement Park industry in new york state is at stake. Good morning, thank you very much for giving us attention and we have been trying to open for a few months. We have made so many plans speaking with Governor Office and we are a Small Business and today is september, middle of september and until now we have not received one communication from the state why we are still closed. Maria yeah, i mean, obviously this is a serious issue not just for you but so many Amusement Park owners across the country and its fans, so alessandro, how much money have you lost since the start of the pandemic . Maria, i could just tell you that the last penny actually that we made was in october of 2019. So imagine not having one penny in revenue for that would be close to 12 months. In our business we probably go, you know, we can go for 18 months without revenues and all the rides need to spend hundred thousands of dollars to maintain them. We have pretty heavy overhead because we believe that the talent needs to be retained in terms of team members, great team members and moreover in our case we are in the middle of 20 milliondollar expansion which we already spent 13 million and we will not be able to generate not one penny. You can imagine that the loss has been tremendous. The financial situation is critical. We are really struggling to survive. Maria yeah, tracee, what does this meant for operating the amusement, what have you done . Have you been unable to invest in the park, make the changes you need to make to to make sure its safe, what are you doing . So we actually came here ten years ago and invested quite a lot in the cony Island Community with luna park and cony island and we just invested in a 20 milliondollar expansion that is entirely in limbo because of whats going on with these executive orders that do not allow Amusement Parks to open, so right now, yes, you know, we were we expected to open in july, we were actually expecting to open in phase 4 and because of that, we did prepare and we spent hundreds of thousands on preparations, signage, training, alessandro can speak more to the public situation improved and in the beginning of june we submitted the plans to make sure that we would be able to open open safely and we invested hundred thousands dollars and we rehired people and obviously we have been waiting for a green light. Maria i understand. And this is not this is not just about you, this is not just about you but the entire community. Alessandro and tracee, you are in our thoughts. Thank you so much. We will be right back. The big events are back. Xfinity is your home for the return of live sports. Maria time for the morning buzz. What are we doing during the pandemic . Watching movies. The average person has watched 20 movies over the past 2 months according to new study. More than half say they are streaming more than normal stuck at home during the pandemic. James, what about you, what have you been watching . James well, my movie of the summer is called mr. Jones. Its an amazon, apple and some other platforms. Amazing powerful film about soviet unionism and the coverup. Dagen ive watched over six times because i clearly have something wrong with me. Maria i have been watching yellowstone. I havent been streaming all that much actually. The race for the cure, coronavirus is not stopping susan g koman. Gerri, what about you . In asia overnight it was green across the board. Fractional moves but certainly higher on the major averages. Some of the top stories we are watching this morning, the race for the white house heats up in michigan, President Trump telling supporters in the battleground state joe bidens protrade record nearly killed the u. S. Auto industry. Joe biden supported the disastrous Transpacific Partnership which would have been a death sentence for American Auto jobs. I withdrew from the tpp my first week in office. That was so easy. That was so easy. You wouldnt have been making cars. You would have been buying cars from foreign lands. We have enough of that. Maria this week, joe biden announced his made in america platform in michigan. It would of impose a 10 penalty for offshoring jobs. The death toll growing on the west coast, wildfires killing at least 10 o 10 people in northern california. 16 others are still missioning. The butte county fires are the deadliest for the state this year. More than 2,000 homes and buildings have been destroyed. In oregon, evacuation orders are growing, more than half a Million People fleeing their homes, at least four people died there from the fires in take tht state. More than 1400 square file milee burned this week. Democrats blocked a 300 billion measure which included money for the unemployed, schools, farmers and the postal service. Support for the bill falling short of the 60 votes needed to move forward. Democrats and republicans are sharply divided over how much money to spend and what the legislation should include. The setback dimming lawmakers hopes of reaching an agreement before the november election. And back to the office we go, jp morgan is reportedly ordering the trading staff to return to inperson work after months of working remote. Senior managers in new york and london are due back in the office on september 21st. There will be some exemptions. Taking a look at shares this morning, theyre up twothirds of 1 . Back to the gridiron, the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Houston Texans 3420, kicking off the nfl season. Patrick mahomes throwing for three touchdowns. Alex okofort, the only chiefs player to take a knee during the National Anthem. The texans chose to stay in the locker room for the star spangled banner. Joining the conversation all morning long, Dagen Mcdowell and James Freeman. Great to see you guys this morning. Dagen great to see you. James good to be here. Maria time for the word on wall street, top investors looking out for you and your wallet. Joining us now, keith fitzgerald, chief Investment Officer lee munson and Global Fixed Income portfolio manager, jack mcintire. Futures are pointing to a gain at the start of trading, markets closing lower yesterday but Major Technology stocks still on the decline. Tech has been under pressure all week, push youing the nasdaq back pushing the nasdaq back into correction territory. Your outlook for the broader markets, do you believe this will be sustained, this selloff in tech and whats your take on the broader markets with this uncertainty here and volatility . Good morning. The only thing im confident about is that we are going of to see a little bit more volatility. I dont think what we saw in august is repeatable. That was a Straight Line hire in equities. The equity market is waking up to the realization we have near term risks out there. Obviously weve got the election coming up. Weve got deteriorating u. S. China trade or even just tensions in general. Theres still covid, you know, as we open up the economy more we expect to see an uptick in infections and we need a little more clarity from the fed. I think its probably healthy for the market to b have the teh sector not necessarily lead. I think as we get the broader economy on more solid footing its better for value stocks to start stepping up a little bit and doing better. Maria would you buy tech then on a downturn or do you want to wait for the shakeout to continue . Well, you know, i put my traders cap on and buy some weakness but, you know, id be looking to probably get out as well. I think today will be telling in the sense of what is market sentiment. If we get two weeks lower, its the first time its happened since march, that might tell us we have a little more downside to do. Im a bond guy. So im not going to spend a lot of time thinking about individual equity names. Maria all right. Times running of out for tiktok, President Trump says he will not extend the september 15th deadline for the parent company, bytedance, to sell the app without a buyer, tiktok could be banned in the u. S. Keith, how do you see it . Whats the impact here. Nobody has ever split a social network by regional lines. It is a data problem. Tiktok collects 10 to 15 times the data that youtube does. China is anxious to protect it. Were anxious to get it out of our of hair. To me im watching this. I doni think its going to cree incentive for microsoft and other companies to create their own versions of it if they cant get their hands on it at fire sale price. Maria Goldman Sachs is out with a forecast for the Third Quarter gdp, raising the outlook, ec expecting gdp growtp to 35 , up from 3 30 . Lee, whats your take on the backdrop . I think thats spoton. We havent really seen the white collar workers get laid off or of get that in the system. Heres the thing. We are clearly recovering. When you look at the High Frequency data, the things im looking at most is our savings rate in the country is going up. People have cash in their checking accounts and all this talk about the stimulus not passing or whatever, this is an election year. Theyre going to pass something and theyre going to please the people because this election is less than 60 of days away. So i think while Goldman Sachs i love that call. It seems bullish. When you think about it, its really not bullish. When i saw unemployment start dipping below 10 , my thesis about being cautious going into the year and it was all based on seeing employment numbers go higher, theyre going lower. So i think you have to look at this opportunity and say, you know, i dont care about what technologys doing, i was buying friday, i was buying tuesday. I think you need to look at every opportunity to see these smaller pullbacks and think about going forward. Its not about techs relatively outperformance anymore. I think that is at risk. I think youve got to start buying every little dip here and the goldman i mean, theyre just saying what everybodys afraid to say which is this has become less of a problem than we thought. We are overly concerned about the general economy. And i think that the news is out. Its going to take a year to get earnings back but the market knows that. Its already pricing it in. As soon as we get a vaccine announcement, i think techs relative performance, the mega techs are over. Maria i think youre right. Keith, your nodding as well. You agree he with that. Youre looking for a pretty good backdrop, Third Quarter, Fourth Quarter, then 2021. Absolutely. To that point, youve got to look to those pullbacks, youve got to use that to your advantage. Buy low, sell high is not just a mantra, its a way of life and path to profit. Takes nerves of steel in weeks like this but thats what youve got to do. Maria all right. Great insights from you. Keith, lee, great conversation there. Jack mcintire, always a pleasure. Thank you, gentlemen. Coming up, florida senator rick scott is here to weigh in on the stalled stimulus and the swing state voting. Well check in with the senator. All morning long were remembering september 11th. 19 years later. Ill be speaking with former new york city mayor Rudy Giuliani and 7 30 a. M. Eastern this morning. In the 8 00 a. M. Hour, dick grasso will join me as we look back on the day our country was changed forever. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Tara, did you know geico is now offering an extra 15 credit on car and motorcycle policies . Wow. Ok thats 15 on top of what geico could already save you. So what are you waiting for . Idina menzel to sing your own theme song . Tara, tara, look at her go with a fresh cup of joe. Gettin down to work early following her dreams into taxidermy oh, its. Tax attorney. When the world needed them most. Find and honor your ancestors who servered in world war ii. Their stories live on at ancestry. Maria welcome back. The coronavirus stimulus part four stalling in the senate, the gop plan failing to get the 60 votes needed to move forward. It would have provided a 300 a week unemployment boost and would have funded state governments, schools and Small Businesses. Joining me right now is florida senator and Senate Armed Services committee and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee member, rick scott. Always a pleasure of to see you. Thank you for joining us. Can you tell us why it failed, what are the sticking points that is causing this back and forth and stalemate . Its not about the issues. Its about nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer believing politically theyre better off without a bill. Look, we took care of the people that lost their jobs. We should have. We took care of our Small Businesses. We should have. We put more money into testing, vaccines, getting our schools open. We should have done all those things. And we repurposed 350 billion. But chuck shy you he schumer any pelosi they believe that not having a bill is better for them in november, and thats why we dont have it. If people want a bill, call Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi. Its about them thinking this is a good political stunt. Maria we shouldnt expect anything then before the election in 50 plus days . Its really frustrating. Doesnt look like it. I feel sorry for the people that lost their jobs, Small Businesses that are struggling and the democrats are sitting here, theyre just these people that are getting hurt are pawns for the election thats happening november 3rd. Maria chase to thats too ba. The fight is going on across the country. I guess when you look at some of the chaos out there, maybe the president s critics think that no more money and as much chaos as possible will make them look better. Theres a fight in florida as well, President Trump is in a tie with joe biden in the sunshine state. Your state, latest news according to the nbc news poll, the president makes gains amongst latinos, with 50 support, a 15 point jump from 2016. Do you think the president will be able to take florida in november. If a poll says republican is tied that means theyll have a big win in florida. If you look at my three races, the polls always said i would lose. Go back to 2016, the polls said donald trump would lose. The reason donald trump is going to win is because people know hes way better for the economy. Think about it. Joe biden is proposing the biggest tax increase in the history of this country. How many people moved to florida for lower taxes. That doesnt resonate very well. As you said, hes doing really well with hispanics. Joe biden appeased the castro regime. Donald trump has held the castro regime accountable. Joe biden has not done anything to hold a dictator accountable anywhere in the world. He gets along with them. Look at his attitude towards china. This is the reason why donald trump will have a big win. Hispanics will go with donald trump like they went with me in my three races because they know its better for jobs. Thats what they care about. They care about education and public safety. Joe biden and the Democrat Party want to defund the police and they think theyre going to get votes around this country. I dont think so. Maria you said moving to florida, this is a big issue, about 950 new residents a day headed to florida, according to the International Sales group, douglas elemin. Palm beach county seeing a 268 increase in Single Family home contracts in july, senator. Tell me what this has done to florida. I mean, first of all, you believe, what is bringing people to florida, the tax situation . Of course people maria how are you handling this in florida . Of course people like our weather, they like the fact that we have lower taxes. Look at cuomo. Cuomo got elected governor when i did in 2010. When i was governor and he was governor, he raised taxes, increased state spending, never balanced a budget, increased debt. So people move for taxes. Now you know he what theyre moving for . Theyre sick and tired of defunding the police, tired of the crime in new york, and de blasio and cuomo are driving more people to floor dan that you can imagine florida than you can imagine. I talked to friends that are home builders, their sales are off the charts from people from chicago and new york and new jersey that are just sick and tired of not just the taxes and regulations but now the fact that they dont even want to fund the police and look at whats happened to crime in those places. Look at the shootings in places like chicago. People are flocking out of there, saying im sick of this. They want public safety. Maria yeah. And theyre feeling it now because you cant deduct it. New york city alone with its 4 on top of new york state tax and you cant deduct that anymore, its a real impact to a lot of people, youre right. Senator, good to see you this morning. Thank you, sir. Final word. We shouldnt pay their taxes. Maria yeah. Senator rick scott, good to see you this morning. Coming up, the nfl season kicks off with two different approaches to the National Anthem. Well take a look. Still ahead, remembering september 11th, former new york city mayor Rudy Giuliani is with me. We will be right back. Plus, get 400 off when you buy the new Samsung Galaxy note20 ultra 5g. Maria welcome back. The nfl is back, reinin reiningr bowl champs the Kansas City Chiefs securing their first wins of the 2020 season against the Houston Texans last week. Before kickoff, they took to the field for the National Anthem. One player took a knee. The texans stayed in the locker room during the star spangled banner. James, your thoughts . James most of the fans want to respond to the anthem. And then you heard some boos during the moment of unity, i believe it was called, and i think there are probably some fans who would like sports without politics. Maria exactly. I think on day one to see this all over again, dagen, im not sure how well this is going to go over for the fans. Dagen its also the first game played by professional Football Players since the death of george floyd which started the protests. I think that if you want theres a difference between which weve obviously seen peaceful protesting and then also violence and anarchy and rioting. I think everybody can get behind what is a peaceful expression of someones beliefs. Its about the game ultimately. Thats why people watch. Ill be watching the eagles versus the feel formerly known at the redskins this sunday. Maria yeah, sunday on fox its going to be a big game for sure. Yep. All right. We are looking at football and sports coming back. Do you think that you are going to see any changes . Didnt seem like too much was different last night, right. Are we going to see any changes on sunday . Dagen andy reid, didnt he have a mask, a face shield on, because it was steaming like i dont know, hed been out running a marathon. It was quite steamy. A friend of mine posted a picture of that. Maria thats about the only change. Coming up this morning, we are remembering september 11th. Former new york city mayor Rudy Giuliani is coming up next. Well also hear from former nyse ceo, dick grasso. First, heres an update from the tennis channel. Welcome to an update from fox business. The womens final is set after thursdays semis in new york. Victoria azarenko took out champion Serena Williams in three sets to put her just one win away from claiming her third grand slam crown. The road to the finals is the best players. Definitely today was that day. Im very grateful. Shell face naomi osaka for the title after she took out jennifer brady. Osaka is on a 10 o 10 match win streak heading into saturdays championship match. You can watch the mens semifinal on friday on the tennis channel, it starts at 11 00 p. M. Eastern. Thanks so much for joining us. Im maria bartiromo. It is friday, september 11th. A look at markets this morning, 7 30 a. M. On the east coast. Futures are pointing to a rebound at the start of trading, we are expecting a triple digit move for the dow industrials, up 141 points right now. The nasdaq futures are up 68, the s p futures higher by 21. This after a technology fueled selloff yesterday, in fact the major indices were down across the board. The dow industrials down 405 points, nasdaq down 222 points, keep in mind even with these recent losses for the nasdaq it is still up better than 21 this year. The s p 500 yesterday down 60 points. Global markets this morning with a mixed showing, european indices right now as you can see fractionally moving. The u. K. Economy rebounding, gdp in the u. K. Up 6. 6 in the month of july. The fq100 up 10 points, the cac turned positive, the dax is down 13 points. In asia overnight green across the board. Take a look at asian markets, fractional moves but none the less higher across the board. Jetblue adding two dozen new nonstop routes this year. Jackie deangeles with details now. Thats right. The 24 new flights will take off in november and december and theyre going to cover regions where the Company Anticipates an uptick in Leisure Travel like florida, mexico, and the carribean. Jetblue also reactivating some of its parked jets to accommodate the new routes. Back in june the airliner announced it was adding 30 of new domestic routes and entered a partnership with American Airlines to boost flying options in the northeast. Were taking a look at shares of jetblue this morning, up more than 1 . Now, the countrys largest mall announcing some layoffs. Mall of america confirming the to fox business 211 workers will lose their jobs at the end of the month. An additional 178 workers currently furloughed could be extended beyond september 30t september 30th. The mall of america saying that its making progress but the recovery from the pandemic related shutdown is going to be slow. And finally, the pandemic has some people rethinking their jobs all together, at least 61 of americans are looking to switch careers. Thats according to a Morning Consult survey commissioned by amazon. A majority of those polled are trying to transition to healthcare or technology, maria. Maria interesting study there. Jackie, thank you so much. We are looking at september 11th, remembering september 11th, 19 years later. Today marks the 19th anniversary since the tragic events that forever changed new york city and the entire country. Tributes are set to take place today in manhattan, washington, d. C. And shanksville pennsylvania before President Trump is expected to attend. My next guest was mayor of new york city on september 11th, 2001 and as a result of his leadership he became known as americas mayor for his leadership and guidance during this horrible time. Joining me right now is former new york city mayor, Rudy Giuliani. And rudy, its always a pleasure to see you, particularly talking to you today. How are you feeling this morning . Well, its a very difficult day like it was. Its the worst day i can remember in my life and in some ways the greatest day. We were facetoface with pure evil, islamic extremist tearism. They killed so many perfectly innocent people who not soldiers or intelligence agents or operatives of any kind, just regular people, right about now going to work and getting a bagel or opening their computer and, boom, their lives are gone, their families shattered forever. They were attempting to destroy the spirit of this country. They were trying to kill about 12,000. Because of the bravery of the rescue workers and im going to point out the new York City Police department, as well as the Fire Department and the Port Authority, they saved 7 or 8,000 lives that probably would have been dead had it not been such an expert rescue operation. And those are the words of the 9 11 commission, by the way, 9 11 commission credited them with saving every life that was possible to be saved. And thats because they gave up their lives. So please remember that when we do all this horrible rhetoric about Police Officers. Please remember theyre the ones who run in and save you, not the people yelling and screaming about them. Maria its true. And 343 firefighters and paramedics were killed from the department of new york, 23 nypd officers were killed and 37 Port AuthorityPolice Officers were killed on that fate physical dayful day. It was a hour of ilf us. Do you think we have changed since then. How have things changed. Weve become much more div divisive. I dont remember anybody taking a knee in 2001, ever. I dont remember people burning flags. I dont remember people saying hateful things about america, how horrible we are, ho horrible our founders are. We have a hate America Movement coming up. We have two different ceremonies because the other group is not reading the names, theyre playing a recording, a prerecorded to me thats disgraceful. Prerecorded reading of the names . Come on. These people gave up a lot for america. I mean, some of them on purpose. Steven stiller ran in, he was at home sleeping. He ran in to save people. His children have grown up without a father. And youve got to remember that. We have to remember too, maria, because its not over. This isnt pearl harbor. It isnt appomatox. Those are over and were friends now. These people still want to come here and kill us and were defunding the Police Department that protects the number one islamic terrorist target in the world, new york city. That comes from our Intelligence Agency im sure hasnt changed and we defund the Police Department. Do you realize the signal that sends to them . They feed on weakness, maria. They feed on they were feeding on weakness in the response that had been had to bin laden in the past. We know that now. Can you imagine the weakness they see now with our police being humiliated and our they want to do away with our Police Department, i mean, social workers are going to protect us against terrorists . We have to use this day this isnt political. This is about the safety of the nation. We have to use this day to reinforce the notion that were at risk, weve got lots of risks, Domestic Crime is growing by record numbers. We have a risk of terrorists coming here and killing us. They still hate us. Theyre still being trained to hate us. The Islamic Republic of iran is giving them hundreds of millions of dollars a year. A few years ago it was our money they were giving them because obama gave it to them and theyre being trained to kill us and theyre looking for the right opportunity. Remember, it took them they attacked us in 93 and in 2001. Took them eight. Hillaryyears to do itagain, rig . Maria its unbelievable. We need to be grateful for the Public Servants that were running in the building while we were running of out. Remarkable. Awesome. Who does that . Maria yeah. Who runs into the building when theyre off duty. What i said was they ran into that building and they werent asking are you black, are you white, are you a woman, a child, are you gay, whats your gender . Theyre going to pull anybody out they can pull out. They dont ask questions like that. Its the people who attack them that are the racists, not them. They put their lives at risk and they die for any race, any religion, any gender, its the people who seek identity who are the racists in our society. Its just slipped from the way the meamedia does it. These people are heros. Todays the day to remember them and all the people who died. There were Hidden Heroes inside the building. I know about an elderly man, 73, not that elderly, i was told a story by the survivors. He packed these people in elevators. The last elevator, he didnt know it was the last, they said come on in. He said no, no, im 73, i already lived my life. You kids, go down. Thats the last words he uttered that we know of. But you know how many of them there were like that . Maria its a horrible story. Its so important to remember what we all faced that day and the camaraderie. We faced it together. Maria. Maria yes, exactly. Look at the city today. I dont know if it would happen today. President bush gave a speech at ground zero and he got in the car with me and governor pataki and my commissioners and we went to the javetz center. They were cheering for him, it was like a political rally, we love you george. I leaned over to him. I couldnt resist. I said mr. President , i dont know if you know it, none of these people voted for you. Its solidly democratic. He said, well, it will eventually go back but thats good, thats good. I dont know if that would happen today, if the president went up i mean, no matter who the president is, the man is working to try to save us. You know you cant sit in that office unless maria you know weve got all these threats. Where does the terrorism threat stand today . I know weve got a threat from china, weve got threats from iran, russia starting to meddle in the election. Where is tea terrorism, where de stand there. Every instinct in my body tells me the terrorist threat is probably bigger right now that were weak. The minute we show weakness and division, they feed on that. They actually believe were not in it for the long run, that they are. That their insane distortion of their religion means theyre headed for eternity and we are evil infidels and this horrible society of ours has to implode and theyre going to help do it. Thats what they thought they were doing on september 11th. Thats why they hit our Financial Center which they thought was the World Trade Center. The biggest target back in those days was the Stock Exchange. That was the number one target on the list that we compiled with the fbi. But they actually because it was called the World Trade Center, they thought it was the Financial Center. In those days, the Stock Exchange was. They hit our Financial Center. They hit our military or the pentagon and they were going to hit our center of political power, the congress. And they thought that would knock us out, that would kill us and instead we came back stronger. Maria on that day i was at the New York Stock Exchange and i ran out to the corner of wall street and broadway to see what was happening, just a block away at the trade center. And as soon as i tried to go back inside the exchange, it was all boarded up. So youre right, i mean, people were worried that the New York Stock Exchange was the next target. Im looking at a picture of me interviewing you on september 11th, on september 17th, rather, the day that the exchange opened once again and it was an incredible moment because it was on that day that we got the occurring courage and the confidence to know that yes, we were down but we werent out and that we would mourn but we would rise again and you gave us that strength. Dick grasso gave us that strength and all the firefighters and First Responders gave us that strength. Nobody in new york city did more to prepare for terrorism, nobody knows three, four years earlier how he would come to my office and he wanted me to put a Police Station there. So i put a substation there. He wanted me to close off the streets. I cant tell you how many threats we got to the world to the Stock Exchange. They far outnumbered the World Trade Center. Legitimate threats coming through the federal government to us at the joint Terrorism Task force and i would say it was our number one target. And he, hes one of the people that took hes the one that took the most seriously in the private sector the threat to his institution. Its the only reason w opened. We could have opened possibly in two days. He didnt want to risk some of the companies not being able to feed in and that it would screw up the market. And president bush wanted it open of right you away. I told president bush, mr. President , dick says theres a 60 chance it will work all day. He said when can they safely open. I said monday. He said okay, tell him monday and he did it on monday and youre absolutely right, it was maria 9 11 happened on a tuesday. The markets never opened that day. Didnt open all week, rest of the week and the resumption of trading, the reopen was monday, september 17th and i was grateful that you were in charge and dick grasso was in charge. Hes going to be joining me shortly, dick grasso too. You tell him hes one of migrate here my great heroes. A great guy, a great human being. America owes much more to him than they realize. Maria i agree with you. Mayor Rudy Giuliani your coverage of that day and the days after was magnificent. Thank you. Maria thank you so much. We are watching oil prices this morning, searching for direction after a wild week, crude falling for eight of the last 10 sessions, rising inventories, demand concerns weighing on the market. This morning, crude oil at 37. 34 a barrel. Joining me now is chief oil analyst, tom kloza. Good to see you. Give me the dynamics you look at with oil back down into the 30s once again. Yeah, its been a tough, tough year for oil. I mean, it started the year in the penthouse, went to the doghouse and now looks like it might go to the outhouse again. But it gets a little bit oversold in september. Septembers a shoulder month. We dont have the driving season anymore, its too early for the winter demand. Maria so in terms of the global market, what do you see in terms of supply . We were going through a period there where we were worried about the shale industry as oil prices got dangerously low. It looks like in the 30s, that worry comes up again. It does come up, maria. I think shale works when youve got a 40 handle or 50 handle. Doesnt work quite so well in the 30s, although there are more breakeven numbers for shale than there is tea in china. I think that probably the problem we have right now is weve got these tremendous surpluses in three places. Louisiana, china, and texas. Its kind of like the old song, all my exes are in texas. And were actually using a little bit more oil than were producing globally but its going to take some time to get rid of this huge ge belly of haa billion barrels of oil. I think the markets a little bit oversold. I think its going to go up in the Fourth Quarter and a its going to be higher in 2021. But i wouldnt have expectations of seeing 60 and well, were on the one Year Anniversary of when we were above 70 a year ago and they had the attack in saudi arabia. Maria wow. A woman in michigan saying she just received the card, postmarked 1920. Dagen, this the person it was meant for obviously missed it. Dagen and the mailin and absentee voting is going to go just fine. But you know, i just want to remind everyone that the one percenters can hire nannies. A lot of people need the kids back in school. Maria yeah. Dagen can i disagree with you on that, though . Those jobs are horrible. Because it sounds like oh, youre going to get to ski and snowboard and partake of the beautiful outdoors and youre really working for these people 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I know a lot of people who did that for a living and broadly speaking, i know this is a generalization, the rich people who hire you for these jobs are terrible. And you dont want to spend a whole bunch of time with them. [ laughter ] dagen its awful. James this means markets are efficient and the salary is appropriate. [ laughter ] dagen boom. Good morning, on this day we remember september 11th, 19 years since tragic event forever changed new york city entire country and world tributes to take place in manhattan washington, d. C. , shanksville pennsylvania, President Trump expected to attend chairman of the New York Stock Exchange test of tactics helped maintain markets businesses in Lower Manhattan i was honored to be with him that day dick grasso good to see you this morning thank you so much for joining me. Good morning maria also a a very special honor to be with you, on this solemn day. You showed incredible leadership on that day i know you were at the exchange, until 10, 11 00 at night i think you slept there, i remember talking to at 9 00 at night after the day, and we were in shock, but you made sure to lead what was an incredibly sad day how are you feeling this morning . Well, this morning maria, thank you for those kind words this morning, all of the 9 11 was a day of reflection, i hope that politicians put aside terribly divisive campaign, and rhetoric that is underway, and pause to remember what happened that day, and most importantly, what happened in the days after 9 11. How america came together, you know, the terrorists didnt attack at a democrats nor republicans they attacked americans, americans rose together, put aside their partisan issues, fought defeated, the evils that perpetrated that heinous attack on our way of life. Iknow you just earlier in the program, had americas mayor on, and Rudy Giuliani on that day rose to become the president pro tempore of the United States. Until george bush could be safely put into place where he could communicate with america, it was Rudy Giuliani, who stepped up, and said we are going to respond in a very professional, calm, and if you will an american way. We will rise together and maria your reporting that day and in the days following, really did help to to convey to americans, that, yes, thousands of lives were lost, billions in property destroyed, here in new york, the pentagon, of course, in fields of shanksville pennsylvania but the american way of life would go on would rise. And it did. And we came together as a people, as rudy said when he and president bush that friday morning went up the west side, they were cheered, it was like a victory parade for a yankees world series victory, yet as rudy said tot president probably none of the people cheering voted for you. They were voting for America America responded. Your coverage, maria, aloud people to take a deep breath and understand, yes, they had done this evil thing to us but yes america could never be defeated, it would rise from the ashes those two towers be stronger greater than ever before and we have been. It is true, i did get that confidence, looking at you, ringing the opening bell september 17th monday after the attacks, the tax happened on tuesday markets closed the whole week then you got everybody on that podium to ring opening bell First Responders firemen nypd Port Authority that gave the world confidence that, yes, we were moufr mourning, down but not out would rise again we have to thank all First Responders i see you are wearing the pin that you designed kind enough to give to me as well, and i cherish this pin you gave me you have on right now talk about what thatpin says, 343 firefighters paramedics killed that day 23, nypd officers were killed, 37 Port AuthorityPolice Officers. You have those numbers on that pin along with the towers that you designed with help of london jewelers after that attack. We can never forget 403 brief souls who never returned home that day to their families, their children, the the fact today that there are people who suggest we keep on we eliminate Police Departments with, defund First ResponderFire Departments let them answer a very simple question. If on 9 11 there were no Police Officers, and firefighters, would it be social workers as they would suggest, replacement for First Responders would it be associate workers running into those towers up those stairs . My people who have been coming downstairs of the second tower those talk about the experience would only say one thing we were heartened our strength was given to us by those young brave firefighters, and Police Officers, who were running up the stairs and telling is dont wore you are going to be fine, you keep going, you are going to get out of here. And, of course, many of those, many of those virtually all who ran up those stairs in the tower perished moments later i think today is a day of reflecting on what made America Great it wasnt democrats, it wasnt republicans. It was americans americans coming together putting aside their traditional political ideologies saying we will responding. As we did pearl harbor that heinous attack on 9 11, you know there is a lesson there. I remember getting a call from your office, one of your people, to say look, we have accounted for everyone at the New York Stock Exchange no one has perished account for that i did communicated that everyone was candidacy for at New York Stock Exchange i remember running out carnage outside the door, i give a big shoutout to eric heness what i was talking about i was covered in soot still had that suit on that day never throw it away he saw me covered in soot, pulled me back in you had friends, family who perished, you had to put a brave face on chairman ceo of New York Stock Exchange youve got to lead what was toughest for that you day. As you mentioned maria i had 147 people in the south tower. When first communique came to me from my partner over there a small plane hit north tower everyone should stay exactly where they were they were safe. I recall to him the great parn dave doughty inform 1939 same kind of reassurance our people were trapped in that building based on that bombing six hours i said to david, get them out now, we were very lucky, everyone of our people got out. I i have a Security Guard are there named ollie, oliver, sweeped he the floors we occupied at two world, and thank god he got out with only six minutes before the building came down so we were blessed that all of our people were safe. You and maria i have to say this, once again, you know, at a time of great tragedy at a time of calamity calm voices are so important. Today we look at china virus the reactions of both sides of the aisle, i compliment the president for not getting on the tube, and causing greater panic, he didnt. He did what Rudy Giuliani did back on 9 11 certainly bernie kerik tommy, i tried to do, that was sure everyone within our reach you killed people destroyed property the american way of life can never be destroyed. It will rise. And we did, maria i am with you in studio on this day because it is a day of reflection also a very special day in your life. Not only what you were phenomenal resource to america but you held back the fact that you were celebrating your birthday, maria. I would normally cut cake with you in the studio. We cant do that this year but we can do is ask one of your viewers to a question we have done that lets see what they have to say. Thank you dick, you are such a special individual, i am grateful to call you a friend thank you so much dick grasso thank you fostering you have done. Well be right back. Stay with us. Before money, people traded goods. Tools, cattle, grain, even shells represented value. Then currency came along. They made it out of copper, gold, silver, wampum. Soon people decided to put all that value into a piece of paper, then proceeded to wave goodbye to value, printing unlimited amounts of money as they passed the buck to the future. Thats why its time for Digital Currency and your investment in the grayscale funds. Go digital. Go grayscale. Maria welcome back, race for coronavirus vaccine, the question remains whether people will actually get one new numbers from the Kaiser Family foundationing showed 54 of those polled will not get vaccine if ready, and available before the election. The same survey finding public trust centers for Disease Control prevention and dr. Anthony fauci is evaporating, interesting findings Dagen Mcdowell. Dagen everyone particularly in public eye need to encourage americans to go out and take this vaccine, once it is available, once that they can go and get it spop that was one of the reasons i found it so disturbing, kind of repugnant, language that we heard from the Biden Campaign particularly senator Kamala Harris over the weekend, essentially fomenting. Concern. About the vaccine. And trusting of it. Everyone needs to get it or multiple vaccines, quite frankly. I would urge everyone get a vaccine once available i hope would be available soon i hope fda once satisfied a vaccine candidate is safe even if not near one hundred percent effectiveness, 30, 40 will do a lot to halt spread i hope dont do normal routinedrawing out this process of approval. Because obviously, the costs of not having the vaccine are enormous. Maria welcome back never a better time to take out he a mortgage 30, year fixed morning braits falling to 2. 86 ninth record lot of 2020 homebuilding after i surging during covid shutdown founder chairm chairman. Corporation we have talked about night out of hightechs, cities have not talked what is going on in real estate let me ask you about housing markets, and this hot stream, with rates where they were do you think this is is sustained will this sustain . Absolutely, because the fed has indicated they are going to keep rates as close to zero as possible, in the foreseeable future going to continue to dry activity plus there is an active flight to quality of life low tax states businessfriendly, also, singlefamily homes more and more people around the country especially ne if northeast, are going to Single Family homes that is across all market demographics. So what about people moving to other areas out of high tax states heading for suburbs . Have many folks fleeing big cities amid coronavirus shutdown uptick in crime new york city hitting record high vacancies it will me how you see things what is the state of the Real Estate Market today. I think new york you mentioned that the vacancies are at record level that is going to continue to increase as leashes roll over 75 new york city in the paramounts live in rental apartments one year leases rolling over as rolling over people move outside of the city as haras hudson valley, for example, i was on a call yesterday, with someone, they indicated they had given up apartment not for good kind of feeling guilt for levering new york but moved up to tip of Westchester County more in new york heavily dense cities where people as leases roll over will look at alternatives, with Interest Rates record lows under 3 makes buying more affordable lower than renting rents have to come down i think a lot of pain in a market considered a core kind of blue chip market was residential rents in new york city i think going to see significant distress starts taking place as vacancies come to pass. What does that distress look like in your view . I mean crime is going higher in new york, we know shootings, robberies are up, what is your take in terms of what this looks like as the hole gets bigger ninebilliondollar hole in budget in new york city, don. I think a vicious cycle rvk, budget deficit is going to continue to increase in new york city new york state new york city forced to make significant cuts in budget going to reduce the cities already very dirty anyone looks at new york city sees how dirty the moment you dry from any other jurisdictions surrounds new york city you know you are in new york city when you see trash on side of the road crime is up, those things continue to push people out when leases roll over they will say i can do better live better outside the city Remote Working is here to stay. People are going to come back when a vaccine when people feel safe but they will not be coming to work the same way we know it. It is going to change the dynamic of the market i think for foreseeable future certainly three to five years you are going to see significant increase in if singlefamily homes it is already in most key markets supply constrained right now prices are selling for over list price right now that is in middle of a pandemic, once we get beyond this pandemic i think we are going to see, further Single Family home appreciation. People are afraid to go back to the city, because of the crime, whether new york, other big steers san francisco, chicago even l. A. , so, tell me how long these things normally last don. I know weve been critical of the leadership in new york city, how long would you expect the slump in new york . Well i think. Maria seen a lot of yes if we learned from you know, new york is a good example we learned from history look being what happened in 1970s then kind of the city bounced back a bit in the 80s went down again with crack, pandemic, crime very unlivable city went so far as all liberal as it is to elect Rudy Giuliani from Rudy Giuliani ebb Michael Bloomberg for er essentially 20 years city was governed by republican mayor, progressive republican mayor nevertheless it is going to have to get worse before the political shift changes. Right now new york City Politics has gone heavily to the left, and democrat socialists elected in state and city governments there is going to be more that have in election cycle i think going to be more pain. What are expectation for reunder a Trump Presidency versus a biden presidency. Well i think, under a Trump Presidency you will see continued growth in some commercial sectors i ploef they will be the incentivized by tax policy, because they will want to see our country, recovery in best way is to incentive business to make infrastructure investments, and construction and development. I think, are under a Biden Administration, there is a risk that is being slowed down a bit tax policy he already outlined the tax policy, that will increase taxes on higher income owners Corporate Taxpayers so i think that that type of tax policy changing could chill remarket too degree i my more focused on commercial types of development, i dont think any administration can really slow down, the Single Family market because it is driven by other circumstances, such as quality of life such as, you know, crime other elements there, that havo are pushing people to move the next generation xs millennials having kids want to get is to the suburbs too. You make a really good point about tax increases that the Biden Administration has proposed you want to raise he wants to raise four trillion dollars in revenue through higher taxes but the Corporate Tax cut that was instituted back in 2017 had a big back and i know that, you know, it sells to the populous to say oh, tax cuts for the rich was what it was all about. That really doesnt tell the story, because when youve got a cut in Corporate Taxes that actually has lots of legs, impacts lots of communities beyond corporation, right . So you are a businessman explain the impact of a cut in the Corporate Tax rate. What it does, i mean look no one pays that out when we get a cut he Corporate Taxes generally speaking vast majority businesses do not increase dividends they reinvest that money into the company, so what it does, stimulates greater job growth the reason we have record low unemployment was because of that. We have breaking news right now don a pleasure to talk with you thanks so much we will see you soon don peoples joining us, breaking news august Consumer Price cpi jackie with the number. Good morning to you up 4 10 for august slightly higher than. 3 everybody was expecting for the month now lower than what we saw in july, a rise of about 6 10 of a percent, very important number especially as the economy is in recovery, we are looking at what prices are for consumers as a lot of people are out of work, for example, so this is going to give a sense of, you know, how quickly things recovery as we go into back half of the year i just want to mention for yearoveryear comparison gain of 1. 3 , that is on the rise was 1 july, 1. 2 august so we are climbing slightly higher they are back over to you. Maria all right did move markets jackie dow industrials off the highs of the morning but, nonetheless, a gain still 85 points on dow industrials this morning, stay with us. Well be right back. We love our new home. Theres so much space. We have a guestroom now. But, we have aunts. Youre slouching again, ted. Expired, expired. Expired. Thanks, aunt bonnie. Its a lot of house. Uh, ill have to check. doorbell ringing aunt jonis here for bundling made easy, go to geico. Com. Hello . Maria 19 years later today marks nearly two decades since september 11th deadly attack on World Trade Center changed countriover from opened more than week later, joining me president of the New York Stock ExchangeStacey Cunningham thank you so much for joining us i know youve got moment of silence coming up what is the mood on the floor this morning . September 11th al somber day at exchange. , as you know, take a moment to remember all lives lost thoughts with the family members everyone impacted by, those tragic events that at a we are you feel that each and every year. Maria it is such a sad day, for all of us who were there remembering it just really horrible. I want to ask you about business how things changed such as ipo market stacey investors keeping eye on Tech Companies technology companies, and talent has chosen Citadel Securities on New York Stock Exchange what kind of impact does this have wellknown, highly innovative coming to exchange ipo. I do want to talk ipo market i think worth taking a moment back to touch on how we felt oovt 9 11 as well, in new york city, because it was really challenging period of time for new york, and i know in your last segment you were talking about city what city is going through right now what i was inspired back in 9 11 by was the resiliency of new yorkers how we came together to rise out of that challenge and out of that confrontation, we need to do the same thing right now. Maria you are absolutely right we are looking on the left side of the screen, people gathering officials gathering for some of the for some of the acknowledgements today that will be taking place in lower new york there is Vice President joe biden, and biden, Governor Cuomo from new york, getting ready here, for some of the tributes to those lost september 11th have markets changed very much stacey real trading environment we are seeing uptick of people investing with their own hands a rise of day traders, people becoming their own brokers youve lived i have lived through the september 11th attacks, dot com boom and buglobalization how this things changeded. During attacks we had to shut down trading a few days a challenge, because, we didnt have infrastructure, to keep the trade the market open, that changed now there is a lot more protections in place. For so many others we can keep trading going level of retail he engagement is really much higher, so we are seeing that that certainly as a difference now, and that has been a the level of retail engagement is a very good thing important to see retail servers many engaged in the market we want to make sure she ins risks as well that is important the ipo market we have so much coming up in ipo market august is busiest month we have seen for ipos since october, 2013 in september on track busiest month we see for ipos in recent history very active seems disconnected he can from the economy we have to make sure we have people in the office so others are getting that benefit. Taking bandaid off jpmorgan telling employees come back to work bringing back senior traders salespeople by september 21st back on trading desk how important is this . In your view . To be a cat list for wall street to get fwak. In my view critical to get people back into the office to support economy one of the things weve seen, people dont feel quite safe covid when i made decision to close tradings floor it was choosing between safety and livelihoods we know how to keep people safe Wearing Masks social distancing, we need to restore that level of confidence in the city so people come back to the office that is how we help economy recovery we dont have to choose between a lockdown we know so much more now about keeping safe. All right stacey good to see you this morning i know you all have a lot offo on your plate with remembrance of september 11th we will be watching thank you. Stacey cunningham president New York Stock Exchange we are remembering september 11th this morning 19 years after that faithful day a moment of sielins will mark time first plane struck the north towering in Lower Manhattan you are watching mornings with maria on fox business. Maria welcome back, it has been 19 years since thes september 11th attacks but america has not forgotten we will never forget, fox news eric shawn in Lower Manhattan this morning where twin towers stood for decades. Reporter you are right 19 years seems as if not one day has gone by as in years past family members others gathering for very special commemoration this year covid19 casts somewhat of a shadow over this already dark somber day, we have had one minute of silence from the first plane hit first tower there will be three more later this morning because of social distancing the ceremony has been cut back somewhat although appears crowded names rerecorded streamed instead of relatives standing next each other in pairs reading off names alternative ceremony held nearby made up of family members, Vice President mike pence attending both events joe biden is here at official ceremony you know maria many say corona virus caught threw, he the mayo Breast Cancer after infected. A two different lifethreatening things i might be cursed but blessed because i got through them corona virus hit Community Hard cpod bronchitis in issues among underlying conditions made virus especially dangerous for those here the law Firm Representatives 20,000 survivors says he lost more than 100 clients to covid. As if oh, my god devastated them, these guys are literally scared to death. They are so frightened when they go outside people not Wearing Masks were victims in 2001, victims now, again. He is trying to get Victim Compensation agency that deals with those who were here to consider covid as a 9 11 related cause of death there will be tribute ub in lights potentially canceled one point two beams pierces night sky he evocative of towers that disappeared now is time to remember be mindful of the threat that still does exist back to you. Maria yes, it is eric thank you so much you are right there at the september 11th museum i can tell you where the towers stood, there are now two pools nothing will be built on those pools i went interviewed larry silversteen oversaw building of tower three, but nothing will be on tower one and two i just tweeted out pictures of those from above, 60 floors above from silversteens office that we the i will put more pictures what this museum looks like on instagram. Your thoughts. Dagen i think about lives lost that day all family members experience that had grief every single day of their lives, always in our prayers, always forever.
