Finding help for homeless in Lima region

LIMA — People who are dealing with homelessness, especially for the first time, often do not know about the resources available to help them get back on their feet.
One of those services is Family Promise, a family-focused shelter in Lima which serves Allen and surrounding counties. Executive Director Hellen Douglas spoke to the Lima Rotary on Monday about what Family Promise is doing to serve homeless families in the area.
Homelessness has become an issue across the entire country, with Ohio being no exception. With pandemic benefits and eviction moratoriums being lifted, the issue could become one of even greater concern for families. Family Promise has had a tougher time keeping up with requests as the problem has grown in the past year.
