The Detroit Lakes Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire on the upper level of an apartment next to the Washington Square Mall around 3 p.m. Friday. Large clouds of smoke could be seen emanating from the roof as firefighters from Audubon, Frazee and Callaway arrived to assist.
