Flash flood warning for Maui expires as heavy rains continue to pass over the islands

Maui continues to see heavy showers and forecasters are warning residents of the possibility of flash flooding.
HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The severe weather that has drenched the state all week continued Saturday, with more bands of heavy showers making their way over the island chain.
The National Weather Services has expired the flash flood warning for Maui until 2:30 p.m.
At around 8 a.m., heavy showers moved east at about 15 mph over central Maui. NWS said the rain was widespread, with rain coming down at a rate of about 2 to 3 inches an hour from Spreckelsville to Huelo.
