The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has opened 10 flood relief centres in the city as a precautionary measure, following prediction of heavy rain this year by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The relief centres aim to provide basic facilities to families affected or displaced due to excessive rainfall. The BCC commissioner has overseen the work to ensure preparedness for any emergency during the monsoon season. More relief centres will be opened if needed.
