Ashley R. Henley, a former state representative for DeSoto County, was found dead of a gunshot wound on Sunday near Water Valley, Mississippi, a coroner said.
The time of death has not yet been determined, Ronnie Stark, Yalobusha County coroner, said Monday.
Henley was found outside a trailer where the body of her sister-in-law, Kristina Michelle Jones, was found dead Dec. 26, said Yalobusha County Assistant District Attorney Steve Jubera, according to the newspaper North Mississippi Herald. Jones apparently died in a trailer fire.
Henley was discovered about 10 p.m., according to a report by news site Mississippi Today. She apparently had been mowing the lawn at the home.
