Former State Senator In Critical Condition Following Crash

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A former state senator was critically injured in a motor vehicle crash Sunday evening, according to police. Edwin Gomes, 84, sustained serious injuries in the wreck on Boston Avenue.
Another driver, Clive Henry, 19, of Bridgeport, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck.
Emergency services received a call at 6:53 p.m. regarding a two-car crash at the intersection of Boston Avenue and Noble Avenue, according to police.

Henry was driving a red 2002 Acura RSX was traveling westbound on Boston Avenue approaching the intersection with Noble Avenue as a gray 2010 Ford Fusion driven by Gomes was traveling eastbound on Boston Avenue.
