Its on again. More shelling in gaza. The Israeli Defense forces saying theyre expanding Ground Operations as we speak. Is this the start of a ground water . Welcome. Im neil cavuto on a very busy day and now night. Its about 11 00 p. M. In israel as we speak. Lets go to trey yingst in southern israel. Trey . Good afternoon, neil. As we speak, the real military is shelling and striking the gaza strip the past several hours. They have ramped up strikes on the northern part of gaza. This is the heaviest that we have seen the israeli response since this war erupted 21 days ago. Weve seen the israelis using tanks along the border. According to israels spokesman, this is being considered you can hear the artillery going out there in to gaza, this is being considered an expanded raid in to the strip. Theyre stopping short of calling this the Ground Operation that everyone is anticipating. But the amount of fighting along the border is significant. Weve heard Machine Gun Fire in the distance. Earlier today, Short Range Rockets Fire from the factions inside gaza. Sirens sounding at this location, sending people to bomb shelters and earlier in the day before that, sirens sounding in the city of tel aviv. It gives you a sense that 21 days in to this conflict, the factions are maintaining their ability to fire rockets. The israelis are entering the second phase of the war, striking more significant targets across gaza. As we speak, we understand theres israelis inside the strip conducts this limited but expanded ground raid. Neil . Neil trey, weve heard reports of a near total black youd of the internet in some of these areas that might be affected. Do we know anything more of that . Yeah, we do. According to our sources inside gaza, all of this palestinian cell towers are down. They use a network called jawal. While the israelis use a few different networks, but the large one is called cell com. The reason i can talk with this source, he has an american phone. A u. S. Sim picking up the israeli cell phone. Theres Limit Information coming out inside gaza. I want to tell you what hes telling me. He says unfortunately no connection to know whats going on in other parts of the strip but we heard heavy air strikes, nonstop. He goes on to say the sound is very big and people are scared. Gaza tonight is alone. Thats what the source says. Then went on to explain that theyve tried to reach out to people in gaza city and have gotten no response. He was able to get through to someone that drives an ambulance and says it is a chaotic scene. Theyre continuing to try and provide service, but are unable to because of the lack of communication. So it gives you a little bit of insight of what life is like for the two million palestinians inside the strip. This Sun Precedented in terms of the israeli response. A new phase of the war is developing before our eyes tonight. Neil . Neil be safe, trey. Thanks very much. To mike tobin in southern israel, from what hes hearing from that end. Mike . Well, neil, the cannons are increasing their intensity as they fire in to the gaza strip. We hear the air strikes going with a roar and a crack. At that same time, the palestinians are firing the rockets out of the gaza strip. I got a bunch of inbound rockets there. Getting intercepted. Were inside the shelter. The light isnt very good. Activity has increased, picked up along the gaza strip. Our camera caught one of the rockets going out. I call them long range rocket because they have the ability to reach to tel aviv. Earlier in the day, one of the rockets got through israels defenses and hit an ant building in tel aviv respected in three people injured. Back to gaza strip. My contacts in gaza say the air strikes are covering the whole of the gaza strip as israel has now expanded the operation. We have reports of conflicts with the israeli armor that has rolled inside of the terrain of the gaza strip. You just heard a big boom in the bock ground. Communications are down. The World Health Organization says they have lost contact with their staff there. Neil . Neil mike, i have to wonder and i try to get a feel of the folks you encounter as youre dealing with Something Like this. This has been grounding on for the better part of three weeks, almost a month. How are they just putting up with this . It depends where you go. If you come to a town like stderot, a lot of people have left. They have gone to tel aviv where theyre staying in hotels or friends. You have the people that have dug in their heels. They have put up with the rocket fire more than 1 1 2 decades now. Theyre defiantly staying. People say theyre staying and they need feed and he will feed them. Theyre frazzled, but defiant nonetheless. Martha as i said to trey and you hear it because we care, be safe. Mike tobin in the middle of all of that reporting calmly and cooley each day every day, all of them. Remarkable. I want to go to Jennifer Griffin at the pentagon right now. This were different attacks on u. S. Soldiers. I believe this is around the 20th weve seen in just the last couple weeks. Jennifer what can you tell us . Well, neil, as the middle east stands on the precipice of a massive Ground Invasion that were told could last months and trigger a reaction from hezbollah in the north and other iranian proxies that will try to test the u. S. Military across the region, tying the u. S. Back down in the middle east. Its important to look at who benefits right now from the actions of iran and hamas. Its not the palestinians, its not tehran. Someone that were no longer talking about every hour on the news. Russian president vladimir putin. Its no co indense that tom hamas leaders including its founder made their way for meetings with Putin In Moscow yesterday. Putins forces in ukraine are experiencing heavy losses so much so that moscow has had to rely on iranian drones for any success on the battlefield. We reported that a pair of f16s had responded to ten days of attacks on u. S. Bases in iraq and syria bombing two iranian Proxy Facilities in Southeastern Syria near the town on the border with iraq. One an irgc Weapons Depot and one an ammunitions story site. A senior u. S. Defense official said there were no casualties at one site. Theyre still assessing damage at the other. The pentagon went out of its way to make sure Iranian Forces were not at the facilities that they targeted, this target was about as low on the Escalation Ladder as one could get designed to send a message to iran not to continue testing u. S. Resolve by expanding the conflict. Its not clear that they got the message. Iranian proxies launched a drone at u. S. Forces in iraq today at alassad air force because. It was intercepted. It was the 20th attack on u. S. Bases and the first since last night. Theres 900 u. S. Troops in syria tonight at small bases, neil, part of the antiisis mission preventing about 50,000 isis affiliated men, women and children currently being guarded at the refugee camp in syria from being released giving isis a fresh start in the middle east. Those u. S. Troops are in harms way tonight, part of this iran proxy war. Neil . Neil just to be clear, you can help me with this, jennifer, these attacks focused on syria for the time being. The u. S. Air strikes focused on syria. One of the reasons for that im told is that the u. S. Does not want to destabilize the government in iraq. If the u. S. Starts carrying out air strikes in iraq, that government could fall and then you could see a return to a crescent from iran to lebanon. Thats something that the u. S. Is very cognizant of, even though most of the attacks on u. S. Forces have been inside iraq, neil. Neil got it, jennifer. Great reporting as always. Want to go to Brigadier General rob spalding right now. His take on all of this war without rules is his latest. Makes you think about where we stand now. General, let me ask you about these attacks on u. S. Soldiers, beefing up the number of boots on the ground. 900 more troops. Now this does appear to be very much an escalating conflict. You think it stays that way or it could be contained . Well, i guess as long as were not going after who is starting it, which is really iran. I cannot believe that we think were going to deter iran by Hitting Proxies in syria. Theyre just going to continue to further up the ante. You know, if you go back to when we bombed general soleimani, they got the message really fast. So youre going to have to go after iran if you want to deescalate the situation. You cant basically expect that they really care about you hitting their proxies. Neil we seem to care about hitting iran directly. I can understand some of the concerns. But israel is clearly agitated to the point of wanting to take action itself against iran. How likely is that . Well, probably very likely if this continues. I think i would not blame them. Quit frankly, i can not fathom why we wouldnt go after iran, particularly as a message to say stop. The only way youll give them that message is if you threaten directly the iranian leadership. They will not respond to this type of proxy attack. This is going to be a useless effort that doesnt really stop them, you know. Again, go back to general soleimani. They got the message right away and deescalated. So if you want to deescalate, you have to go after the leadership in a real way. Make them feel threatened. Neil let me ask you, its an ancillary issue but one i wanted to raise with you. A lot of federal government officials here in this country are talking about crypto firms not helping terrorists out. That there must be more financial transparency. Theyre looking at funding for terrorist groups, we know this hamas Attack On October 7th was largely financed through untraceable crypto funds. What do you make of that and what we can do to stop that, if we can stop that. Well, im just going to go ahead and say and people are going to be happy of this. Im not a fan of crypto in terms of national sovereignty. The only one that should be coining currency is the federal governments, how we maintain our federal republic. I understand the novelty or the other nature of using a distributed currency. But ultimately its going to be used by people that want to keep off the radar, which means its going to facilitate terrorism and criminal behavior. Neil general, do you think hamas appreciated the magnitude of the response theyre seeing now, the response on the part of israel, our actions against the surrogates, saudi arabia knocking down the Houthi Rebels missile coming from yemen. Theres distinct and different, i grant you. It does make you wonder about the wisdom of their strategy unless they were envisioning this would create a global jihad. You know, khamenei thought that was something that would happen after 911 and it did not. Im wondering what you make of it. Ill take you back to the beginning of your broadcast when you talked about who is benefitting from this. Thats putin. Through their relationship, so is china. So this is part of a broader it. Its the second cold war. This is expanding. It will expand in to asia next and the idea here is to overwhelm and bankrupt the United States. The same as we eventually did to the soviet union. Weve been taking a very brad approach to this. Quite frankly we need to reassess, understand that Global Situation and prepare for a long fight. Neil general a lot has been said and second guessed about the wisdom of hamas and what the upside could be to the butchery. The audacity of it. And that there now is a concern that theyre in for a major beating. But theyre trying to attach that to building global sympathy for whatever israel launches in gaza. How does israel, how does the western world respond to that . Well, its difficult. Because now hamas is getting exactly what they wanted, which is, you know, 24 7 coverage. This is basically the goal. Its the goal is not so much the attack. Its the aftermath. The outcome and the Propaganda Value of what happens. So theyre going to they really want this attack to come on. It seems counter intuitive. Who would want this type of invasion to happen to them. But hamas doesnt care about the people. They only care about the Propaganda Value that happens when those people are killed and injured. Neil general, im sorry to jump on you. Your former b2 Stealth Bomber pilot. You know what it means for close encounters. You heard about the other chinese aircraft that came within ten feet. In the middle of this, china is being provocative as all get out. Well, they are. What youre seeing is their strategy, if you look at it, they talk about it all the time, its we need four distracters for the United States. Russia, iran, north korea and the fourth is terrorism. So they see this as a strategy to keep us overwhelmed and distracted while they pursue their efforts militarily in their region, but also globally in terms of influence. So theyre trying to create a world where most of the world doesnt believe or respect the United States and this is a very effective way to go about it. Quite frankly, our military is getting overwhelmed at the moment. Its going to get worse as this war escalates in the middle east and spreads to asia. Neil as you predicted, only a couple weeks ago when we last chatted. Thanks, general. More so for your credible service to this country. Thank you, general. Neil thank you. Meantime, i want to let you know, well be following this on my saturday show tomorrow at 10 00 a. M. Eastern time. Among the guests, all the key military players. Well talk to senator ben cardin. Some say a precursor to a Ground Invasion. The white house has said theyre drawing no red lines for israel as the Ground Offense takes for. Jacqui heinrich is there. Jacqui . Good afternoon. The president s critics z praised the strikes that he order overnight as a necessary and important step in reestablishing deterrence from this war widening in the middle east and establishing that reembellishing that deterrence against any future attacks. A 20th attack on u. S. Forces just this morning is now prompting concern from some of those same critics that perhaps the president s strikes did not go far enough. Listen. The strike in syria overnight was supposed to deter the iranians resulted in another attack. This time a Suicide Drone in iraq this morning. So clearly it didnt work. Im concern that hezbollah has looked at that and thought the United States wont act so maybe we will take a risk and go in. The pentagon says the action taken last night will not be the last u. S. Response if the conditions warrant another one. Officials saying immediately after ward, what you saw was us demonstrate readiness to take Military Action to defend our forces and were ready to do it again. National Security Council spokesman said the drone attack this morning was not a shock. Its not uncommon for them to strike back. If they do, we do what we have to do to protect our troops and our facilities. Well be ready for that. The white house has been pressuring china to help stop the war. The Chinese Foreign minister met President Biden at the white house this afternoon after he first met with Secretary StateAntony Blinken last night. The u. S. Has been trying to lay the ground work for xi jinping next month. The white house read out of the meeting did not get into any details of their conversation but hit some of the things that weve heard before, manage the competition with china and maintain open lines of communication, neil. Neil thanks. Jacqui heinrich at the white house. Meantime, a lot of questions about how this ground war begins and what does it involve. With internet out in a large swalt of the swath of gaza. Trace gallagher has more. Were awaiting a ground war. You have 300,000 Israeli Defense forces down there. Remember, neil, theyre waiting to go in to war. Three weeks ago, these were doctors and lawyers and accountants and plumbers. Now theyre wearing a military uniform, some for the first time in many years. Its unclear how much training that they have gotten. For the ground war itself, theres this perception that when it starts, its going to be akin to storming the beaches of normandy. More likely this will be an incursion, fairly large, a bigger incursion today and as the days go by, they get bigger and bigger. The idf will say its not about going in and out in a couple days. This is about weeks and months. Its about going in, doing the job and getting back out. We should also note that theres a lot of concern that this Ground War Night Hinder or impede the effort to get the hostages out. Theres 229 people from 40 different countries. The concern is that when you have a ground war, the diplomatic efforts drop off and what happens to the negotiations or the hostages themselves becomes very unclear, neil. Neil trace, ive heard a lot of people trying to prepare at least in the israel Defense Forces that this could go on awhile, could be a multimonth campaign here. What are you hearing . Yeah. Theyre bracing for that and bracing their people for that. When we talk about 300,000 idf forces amassed along the border, this doesnt just affect a certain segment this affects every Single Family in israel in some capacity. Its everybody all in. Were in jerusalem. You look at the streets. Theres no traffic. Everybody is kind of girding for this. What theyre waiting for is word on how long its going to last. Will they get their lives back in the next few weeks. The answer is no. This is going to be a months long campaign. Its urban warfare. It is very likely to get very nasty and very ugly. Neil . Neil thanks, trace. Be safe, my friend. Your definitive coverage when as the others have gone to bed, puts it in perspective. Follow trace in jerusalem giving you the utmost latest on all of this. The utmost impact for the markets might be starting to register. Were down 300 points. A lot of this people calling this the impact of a war that we cant appreciate. I had a chance to catch up with Goldman Sachs ceo, David Solomon who said this is the big unknown. Take a look. Theres no question that what is going on in the middle east is incredibly unsettling. It start by saying the attacks on israel are terrorism. They violate our most basic human principles. And theyre very unsettling for lots of people. You know, at the moment, you know, i think we have a clear view of what it is. But theres a risk that it can escalate. I dont think thats likely, but the escalation could have an economic impact. Could have an impact around activity of that part of the world. Its something that were all watching closely. Neil are you watching closely how your colleagues are reacting to these College Protests that favor the palestinians, condemning israel . Some have said those that are big benefactors to schools like harvard and others, we wont give another cent. What do you think . Well, what i would say i repeat what i just said to you. These attacks by hamas on israel are terrorism. They violate our most basic human principles. Whenever theres hate of any kind or bias or hate of any kind, particularly terrorism of this magnitude, it needs to be condemned very strongly. Martha you have an eye for talent. A lot of great workers under your umbrella. Some of your colleagues have said that they would like to get the names of some of those kids that signed of to these positions just to make sure that they never hire them. How do you feel about that . We have a hiring process. We see lots of talent Around The World. We obviously want people to work at Goldman Sachs that believe in our system of values. As i said to you and i repeat, we think that bias or hate against anyone is unacceptable whether its antisemitism, whether its hate for people in the black community, the muslim community, in the asian community. Any form of hate and bias is unacceptable. When we recruit people, we look for people that share our values that up regard in an inclusive community. Neil you look at the markets for a living. They have been relatively contained. Theyve been falling off for reasons having very little thus far with whats going on in israel and the middle east. What is rattling them, you think . Well, i think theres a number of things going on affecting markets. The economy here in the u. S. Has been resilient. You saw the gdp numbers yesterday, which obviously were very strong. But theres no question that with all the fiscal stimulus that weve had and the fiscal spending weve had, i think thats helped to play a role in contributing the continued strong Economic Growth. My sense as i get around and i talk to business leaders, you know, broadly, the consumer has a little less momentum a little less savings. I do think theres a risk that the economy is a little more fragile as we head in to 2024. Were watching that closely. Obviously uncertainty Around The World and geo Political Uncertainty can contribute to a sense of confidence or lack of confidence that can slow economic activity. For now, the u. S. Economy has been relatively resilient. We have to watch it cautiously. Neil i had a chance to talk to James Bullard who is worried that the strong data that weve been getting from the 4. 9 third Growth Figures to cd rates up to 5 , 6 or more. Competition for stocks. An added development with the Uaw Labor Pact that could have wages going up. And inflation could be back and the Federal Reserve has to be ready. He said maybe 6. 5 . What do you think . Well, i think the fed has moved relatively quickly. You look at the pace of monetary tightening over the course of the last 12 months. The fed has moved quickly. I think the fed at the moment is pausing and waiting to see the effects of the tightening going on is filtering through to the economy. I think the Tightening Effects are filtering through to the economy. I think were going to see a little slow down in economic activity. I think the fed needs more data and more information. I think theres a risk that rates could go higher. I think inflation will be sticky. Its particularly present around labor. So that has to have an effect that plays through. But i think at the moment, the fed is in a pause and wait and see mode. If it does pick up, the fed will acted accordingly. Inflation affects Small Businesses and Rural Communities which could explain where you are today. Looks like an Ice Cream Shop in arkansas. Explain. So i am in an Ice Cream Shop. Neil see how quickly i picked up on the ice cream . Go ahead. You picked up on that very quickly, this is a Small Business that is own by sally minkle. They make their own ice cream and sell it. I tasted some. Its delicious. But sally participated about 1 1 2 years ago in our 10,000 Small Businesses program. Were in arkansas today to launch an arkansas focused program. This program has existed for over 15 years around the United States. Weve had 14,000 programs go through the program. We felt invest something Small Business is critical to Economic Growth and job creation in the United States. If you look at arkansas, 99 of all Small Businesses arkansas, all businesses are Small Businesses in arkansas. Its a significant part of the job base in a state like this. So while weve operated in larger ban centers throughout the country over the course of the last couple months, weve been rolling out and investing in the program in more Rural Communities. We launched a couple months ago in north dakota and now this is our second launch in a more Rural Community in arkansas. Were committing 100 million to this lawn inch Rural Communities and excited about the impact that it can have. Small businesses need help, need access to capitol to help them grow their businesses. One of the things were doing is making a 20 million commitment to hope enterprises, which is a mississippibased cdfi, which can help provide credit to Small Businesses. Its very important for that vital ecosystem. Neil you talk about availability to credit. One of the things i hear from Small Business president people is that credit is hard to get these days. With rates going higher, its getting increasingly hard. One businessman put it to me, why every time we do better in this country does the Federal Reserve have to raise rates assuming were going to hell in a hand basket . What do you tell them . Well, theres a balance, obviously. Theres a balance to Monetary Policy and balancing inflation. Inflation is a horrible head wind and a horrible tax on Small Businesses. So its important that we get that right. We get that balance right. You know, Interest Rates have been very accommodating for a long time. We look at the Interest Rates and i think about my 40year career. 5 Interest Rates is more normal. But when the change happens very quickly as its been happening over the course of the last 12 months after a long period of time of very accommodated Monetary Policy, its shocking. Its one of the reasons why we continue to try to invest in Small Businesses, to help them grow, to help them secure access to capital because its so important for their growth that they find ways to access capital. Theres no question when Small Businesses cant access capital, they slow down their growth plans. That affects additional hiring and that obviously affects our economy broadly. Its an important thing for us to stay focused on. Neil its a good thing to stay focused on. To that point, we all live in our own heads, david. I think im older than you. Im old enough to remember i dont know if i told you or maybe viewers once or twice, but when my wife and i got our first home, the mortgage was 13. 5 . Crew says not again, neil. Its what you remember, this is a different time. The average being 5 , thats about right. But theres a lot of americans for whom this is a shock and a jolt. Its not going away any time soon. What do you tell them . Well, i think that we can operate in a very strong and sound economy with 5 Interest Rates. You know, as you point out, sounds like you got your First Mortgage in the early 1980s or 1970s. I remember those days. I graduated from high school in 1980. I remember those days well. I dont think were going back to that. I dont think that that is likely. I do think that were going to live in a more normalized and where money is not free. One of the great tail winds as an economy, most americans that own homes put themselves in long mortgages that have fundamentally low rates locked in a long time. Thats a hugely valuable asset and hugely supportive. If youre trying to borrow now for the first time, things look more ebb expensive and were going through a balancing period of that balancing out, this is a more normal environment and we have to take a longterm view and make sure that people understand that. Understand that we cant operate with a Strong Economy even with Interest Rates at these levels. Neil all right. I think that is David Solomons way, the Goldman Sachs ceo, to say that interest rateds are not going to be nearly as low as they were before all this rate hiking began, not any time soon. Mean tile, bring you up to date on a development at the United Nations where the General Assembly called for a humanitarian truce between israel and hamas. They say it haas gotten very dangerous. The resolution was drafted by arab states. Its not binding. Carries some political weight. Taking the globe temperature as israel as they step up the Ground Offensive in gaza. I passed with 120 votes in favor, 45 abstained and the United States and israel voted no. The General Assembly voted after the Security Council failed to take any sort of action the last few weeks. The very latest from lewiston, maine. Thats where youd find c. B. Cotton. C. B. . Good afternoon, neil. Yeah, the search is continuing for accused gunman and suspect robert card after police say he terrorized this small tight knit community. Investigators revealed that belong a cell phone belonging to card but tight lipped on a note that he left behind. Investigators are searching through the woods. Dive teamses have been searching the river where the outback was found abandoned. A gun was found in the car. Nobody knows which way the suspect went or how hes getting around. Card had multiple boats and the coast guard says one is unaccounted for. Documents say the suspect may have accessed to a motorcycle. Now thursday night, officers executing Search Warrants at Properties Linked to is suspect in his hometown of boden. No sign of the suspect. While the hundred continues, lewiston and surrounding areas are turning in to ghost towns as shelter in place orders are extended through saturday morning. This comes as more identifications, more victims are being identified and word of this is spreading throughout this grief striken community. People are also wondering what should have been done the keep firearms out of the hands of this Army Reservist who had a documented history of Mental Health struggles. Neiled . Neil thanks for that, c. B. In lewiston, maine. We want to go to jack from the fbi. He has a great read of these things. People ask you this all the time. Where do you think this guy could be . Its the Million Dollar question, right . Ive heard reports of him heading south, maybe utilizing a water craft. He has a Bayliner Boat that is missing. Hence the coast guard gets involved. This is an individual, hes a survivalist. He knows how to live on the land. Again, we dont know if anybody else is assisting him. He might have had assistance. I understand he left a suicide note. He probably didnt plan to come back. Now that he did, i think he had plan b option in play to get away. Neil they also recovered his cell phone. Thats not to say he might have an additional one. What do you make of that . Yeah, i mean, they did recover that. My understanding is they recovered a gun as well and a car. You know, utilizing a burner phone would be the case here, what he would probably be doing. A burner phone will come back nontraceable to anyone. Why used them in Law Enforcement to give to informants. Im very familiar with burner phones. If he planned for a plan b, if he survived the initial attacks, he would have a burner phone, maybe multiple burner phone, food, ammunition, weapons, survival type utilities. Neil another thing, were getting details of not only the number of the victims but how old they were. Some as young as 14. One gentleman as old as 73. Almost every age and group in between. And then it begs the question, did he know these individuals. Did he target these individuals. Theres separate reports of him shooting one i believe in the bar at least three times. That seemed to indicate a target. What do you think . Yeah, my understanding is from what im hearing is that he was targeting potentially an exgirlfriend. Ive listened to three of his tik tok videos. His videos were taken down. But the audio still exists. In those he talked about the United States government. He talked about the army ruining his life and destroying his life. That he was going to make a statement. He says it clearly on the video, which is not a video now where he says i will make you hear me. I will do something particular. There were Warning Signs. You and i have talked about it in the past about looking for Warning Signs. There were Warning Signs here. Not only the Mental Health issues where he threatened to basically blow up and fire upon his own people at a military base, but he also threatened, you know, his very good friends, his cohorts that he worked with day in and day out. So you have an individual here. He posts what he posted on tik tok. Again there were Warning Signs that were missed unfortunately. Neil now the question is, if hes still alive, where hes going. Hes armed. Obviously considered dangerous. Theres always the issue of possible hostages and taking them hostage. What do you think . Yeah, neil, i dont think this guy is capable of anything. I mean, hes clearly in a mental state that is not a good one. Hes taken the lice of over 18 people. Injured many others. I hate to say but he has nothing to lose at this point in time. Youre right. He could be in a position where he does take hostages. You know, leaving that suicide note could have been one of two things. A, it was a ruse that he was going to kill himself or hey, i didnt think i was going to survive it and come back. He did survive it. He did get away. Looked like as i said earlier, he had a plan b. He did have he was prepared to get out of there, get out of dodge. So were going to see as time goes on. I see the u. S. Marshalls have joined atf, fbi, dea. As i said yesterday on the air, everybody with a gun and badge is looking for him in multiple states. Hopefully were not in for the long haul. You never know. Neil you can educate me here. Theyre piecing together the timeline of this roughly 12 to 15 minute shooting rampage. Could be less than that. He was not in a rush. He was never running, always walking. Never ideaing his identity. Thinking that somebody would kill him didnt happen at least during the attacks. So makes you wonder what was his strategy. Well, neil, as i mentioned previously, hes tactically trained. You know, ive seen this. This is how the swat teams operate. How we operated. Smooth is fath. You go smooth, you go tactically. You dont run. You move and shoot. You tactically look or the your advantages of cover and concealment as youre moving. He took his time. Probably not anticipating anybody returning fire at the bar and the bowling alley. I think he thought the threat would come from Law Enforcement, which wasnt there in time. In this case, i dont think he was anticipating any confrontation by anybody at the bar or bowling alley. Neil youre amazing, jack. You can look at the same stuff i was looking at and give it better context and depth. I appreciate that. Jack jupin, the former fbi agent. Well see what happens on that front. Meantime, remember sam bankman fried. Paid out millions to stars . He took the stand today. Lets say it was a little bumpy. Im feeling better. All in one and done with new Mucinex Kickstart. Headache . Better now. New Mucinex Kickstart gives allinone and done relief with a morning jolt of instant cooling sensation. Its comeback season. At mint mobile, we like to do the opposite of what big wireless does. They charge you a lot. We charge you a little. They put their names on arenas. We put ours on my lower back. So naturally when they announced theyd be raising their prices due to inflation, we decided to deflate our prices due to not hating you. And if this were one of their ads, theyd end it here with a happy customer. So well end ours with an angry goat. Oh hho, look at the angry goat. Listen, your deodorant just has to work. I use secret aluminum free. Just swipe and it lasts all day. Secret helps eliminate odor, instead of just masking it. And hours later, i still smell fresh. Secret works ohhh yesss. Neil all right, you reach a certain stature or status, however you want to look at it, your initials svs, sam bankmanfried, you know him as the disgraced crypto kin. When this trial started on embezzlement and everything else, kelly ogrady who we assigned to cover this because she is so good at this, she wasd possibility he could take the stand, and i reacted, thinking there was no way, but i was wrong, she was right. She is outside the courthouse in new york city. How did he do, kelly . Neil, certainly a worthy status of k og. Spf, k og. Sam bankmanfried takes the stand. Today, he got some friendly questing from the defense and he did pretty well, he was confident, look to the jury directly in the i am painting this narrative of an entrepreneur who wanted to make the industry better but doesnt know much about the space, even set at one point he knew absolutely nothing about cryptocurrency. Shared that his biggest mistake they had did not have a Risk Management team. What life was like at the bahamian mansion, love living like in college again and described his relationship with exgirlfriend caroline ellison, ceo of Alameda Research and said it did not work out because he could not spend as much time as needed with her. One thing sbf focused on was how alameda and ftx spend its money. Prosecution witnesses highlighted political donations. Sbf refuted that testimony saying he never directed any of his lieutenants to donate to anything specific but he did admit that he thought he could have substantial impact on the world through those donations. Neil, being bad at your job, a ceo not as plugged in as you should be, thats not really a crime, but remember ellison, they all pled guilty to fraud, so will the jury believed he really didnt know what was going on . The fun comes monday. He is back on the stand fear of the prosecution is going to get there crack at him. Yesterday we got a taste of what that was like any hearing that that was close to the jury and believe me neil, he was not confident, nervous and fidgeting, that to look forward to. Back to you. Neil anyway, i told you he would testify. Great job, kelly. Kelly ogrady in new york. Just unreal. Right . Want to take you to israel, tel aviv in particular, dealing with bombings of its own coming its way. Alex hogan has the latest from there. Alex . Hi, neil. We have seen these ramped up strikes in the gaza strip and israeli officials giving us a little more insight, not just on the efforts that are underway, specifically the targets. Take a listen. Speak of the iaf is striking underground targets and Terrorist Infrastructures in very significant way. Following the Offensive Activity carried out in the last few days, the Ground Forces are expanding the Ground Activity this evening. This is the sky line near the gaza strip tonight. You can see the air strikes in this ramped up operation. The idf says this is all part of the groundwork, everything that is being done in the next stage of this war. We have seen ramped up activity in recent days. Israeli military Officials Say that the goal here is trying to destroy some of the hamas infrastructure and the tunnels that are used they are. Worth noting, there is still no confirmation as to whether all of this is really part of that offensive we have been hearing about the last week. The countrys Defense Minister does say that when that happens, it will be long and it will be difficult. Meanwhile, conditions in Gaza Continue to deteriorate, especially for the families and children who are caught in the middle of all of this, with these destroyed buildings that you can see in these images and aid workers are sounding the alarm, there simply is not enough food and there is not enough water. We also know that tonight, internet and mobile phone services are down in at least part of gaza. Back here, sirens off, the Iron Dome Booms Multiple Times Today and also went to an Apartment Complex that was a direct hit from a rocket from gaza. Three people were wounded in that. Israeli officials tonight, neil, just reminding people when you hear those sirens, you only have a minute and 30 seconds to get yourself to safety. Neil . Neil you, too, my friend, alex hogan in the middle of all of that in tel aviv. Want to alert you to a development, probably heard President Joe Biden has another democrat challenger, minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips has chosen New Hampshire to make his announcement, and filing for the state ballot, something the president so far is not doing there. He wants to start to kick things off in south carolina. Congressman phillips is hoping to tap into the parties anger and angst over the president s age. He joins Marianne Williamson challenging for the nomination, robert f. Kennedy jr. Has left the Democratic Party and is running for president as an independent. Mr. Phillips will be a special guest of mind tomorrow as we gauge his race and where it stands, also the chairman of the Senate ForeignRelations Committee. What he makes of whats at stake in this ongoing war. We will also in and Around The World, those presently serving on those who have some perspective on war and what it means. What it means right now is that was near clear end in sight as the israelis themselves are saying be prepared for a war that lasts not days, but weeks, but months. All right come hell
