The pictures you can see right there on your screen proved that is the case. Emergency crews are working to reach the isolated communities that have been devastated by catastrophic flooding. Residents there are heartbroken, desperately pleading for help. There has been landslides. Our valley got wiped out. They had to rescue people, the National Guard had to come in and take people out. I have been a resident, and we never experienced anything like this. We need things like baby formula, baby food, pet supplies, we need outreach. We are trying to do the best we can but we just need help. John fox Weathers Jane Minar is live in boone, North Carolina. Jane, what are you seeing . Yeah, john, so we traveled 2f boone, trying to get to these rural Mountain Towns because that is truly where there is a ton of devastation. The scale of this is really hard to put into words. In cove creek, North Carolina, this was the centerpiece of this community. You had soccer fields, a track off to the distance. That is now filled with debris. Power lines that have been pushed by the cove creek, that once was a small stream, rose more than 10 feet, became a raging river. You had cars and rvs that were pushed downstream, mangled amongst the mess of those power poles. This is the playground where the local day care center, 3yearold ada came to talk to me this morning. She had her Rain Boots on and her Gardening Apron and gloves, wanting to pick up some of these pieces. Her motto, any little bit helps. But unfortunately, this has become the second deadliest storm behind katrina, was now more than 170 deaths being reported from helene. Many of those in western North Carolina. Weve seen nine men, horseback, going up into these hollers, trying to do welfare checks, checking in on schools, children, making sure they are all in a safe place. I spoke to one woman with me today who said that she is worried that her children will be back into her School Districts four weeks, if not months to come based on the destruction of what we are seeing here in these rural communities. I think the playground is really what pulls at me, when you know that kids were using this. You have tennis courts. The stream lower, babbling off into the distance, but you have feet of debris thats going to take a long time to clean up. John no question about that. There is just so much H Hardship out in that part of the state. Jane minar, thank you. Hurricanes are one thing because there is a lot of wind damage, storm surge damage, but you can rebuild when something is knocked down by wind or waves. But there with 10 feet of mud in some parts of Downtown Areas of these little towns or the center of these little towns, where do you even start . Gillian you know, talking to the fire cheap earlier, i was also thinking about how in boone in particular they have 19, 20,000 people who live there, a lot live off the tourism industry. About to peak, normally would, fall tourism is incredibly beautiful and special part of the country, everybody wants to see the fall foliage. People there, many people are running restaurants, shops, air b bs, that really only get going for three or four months of the year and now they have no income potentially all year. John you have to feel for all of those folks who literally lost everything, buried under tons and tons and tons of mud. As jane was pointing out, trying to find little trinkets here and there of memories. It is hard to find. There is such utter devastation. Gillian hoping i guess for some kind of remnant of what your life was like before this horrible storm. John terrible. Gillian there is also this, our other top stories, tensions running high in the Middle East after Irans Bombardment of israel yesterday. Trey yingst recently embedded with the idf, units moved across the border into Southern Lebanon. Trey is the first journalist to go into the country with the idf since the conflict erected between the two sides. He joins us now from the northern city of haifa, israel, with an exclusive look, also looking back, we saw yesterday just before this time, trey, at your hotel, as those missiles were incoming, sort of look like right over your head. Its in tunnels and rooms like this, the israelis say, they are Finding Irani Weapons Smuggled T To Syria and then into Southern Lebanon to get to this Hezbollah Position we had to cross minefields and hike across uneven terrain, pocked with craters, the result of israeli bombardment of Southern Lebanon. All of this began on october 8th, when hezbollah followed hamas and started attacking Northern Israel in the hours after the October 7th massacre. Now israel says they are conducting these limited raids across the border to destroy these Hezbollah Positions and allow israeli civilians to return to their homes in the northern part of the country. The israeli Ground And Air campaign against Southern Lebanon continues today. We know that hundreds of hezbollah fighters have been killed in the process, along with hundreds of civilians. While we follow this developing story, we can also report at this hour that eight israeli soldiers were killed earlier today in battles with hezbollah. Gillian . It happened so quickly. The water rose so quickly from both creeks. That within minutes, our house was 4foot of water in our house. Gillian wow. My Wife And Granddaughter had to be rescued from the back of the house, and i was trying, there was a lady next to us by herself and she was standing at the back doors i was trying to tell her there is help on the way. They wouldnt let me go over there because the water was so deep. Gillian is your granddaughter okay . They are both fine. They got them out with a canoe. Gillian oh, thank god. Local fireman, good friend of ours. Gillian bo. Oh, guys, im so sorry. If you want to take a break, dont feel pressured to keep going. We are fine. I just want to say one thing. Gillian please. We would try to clean up ourselves but you have to go quick or youre just going going to lose everything. Samaritans first sent 50 people over and gutted our house and saved our house. They are bringing us food, bringing food and helping where they can. God is good. We are not hurt, but it is just going to be a long road back if we can build it back. Well, they are still cutting, when they haul the mud out, they go halfway up the Sheet Rock and cut it out, and when they get through, samaritans first told us it would be contract ready which means we can start building back. I mean, as bad as it was for us, i know theres other people that are even worse, and down the road here we had a neighbor get killed at her house, so we are just thankful we are alive. Gillian what about your i am so sorry about your neighbor. Any belongings you have managed to salvage that are not part of your house . Any personal effects, where are all of those . We got a few shoes, a few clothes, not a whole lot. We look around, and i show you whats left, they took it out of the house. Can we go around . Gillian see if our photog, there we go. Oh, wow. It, it. Gillian wow they had to get it out so we could save the house. But all the neighbors here are in the same situation. Its just devastation. Gillian of course, of course. But Ila President told me yesterday that he wants at least a 5 per Hour Wage Hike across the board for every year of the contract, which comes out to roughly a 77 wage hike. Look, i got to be honest. I feel a little bad for governor walz, and the reason i feel bad for him is because he has to defend the indefensible, and that is the record of Kamala Harris. And think about this. The past eight weeks, Kamala Harris, who never won a primary vote, has gone around the country saying she is on Dae Affordability Crisis that is making it hard for you to afford groceries, housing, and everything else. She says on day 1 we are going to make Energy Prices lower for american consumers, and on Day O tackle the Instability And Conflict all over the world. Well, Kamala Harris, day 1 was 1400 days ago. This company is a proud and stark contrast because right here in visioneering, workers making Great American products, we are proud of you, were going to fight for you and we are going to build on that great track record. You know, my pop always a Union Steelworker for almost 40 years and almost 10,000 jobs, now about 2,000 jobs. And the Steel Mill where the lucky ones because a lot of Great American steel producers didnt just shed 8,000 jobs, they went out of business altogether, and why did they do it . They did it because other countries used literal Slave Labor to undercut the wages of american workers and destroy our industries. And Donald Trump, if we stand for anything, we stand for an end to that practice. We are going to build more in america. We are going to manufacture more in america. We are going to make more in america. And we are going to do it with american workers and build american prosperity in the process. That is our promise. That it Donald Trump solid promise. My papaw, like i said, was a Union Steelworker and he was a little gruff from time to time, i love my papaw, but he had a word for the kind of policies Kamala Harris pursued, and tax american workers and send their jobs overseas, one word of that was bullshit. Doesnt make an ounce of sense. And its not just american workers, the Michigan Workers in particular, weve got the proudest Auto Industry in the entire world built right here in the state of michigan. As a buckeye, it is hard for me to admit that, my friends. It is hard for me to admit how good Michigan Workers are at making automobiles. Why are we trying to tell americans that theyve got to drive electric vehicles made in china . Why dont we send this message, this is america, drive whatever the speech when he for you want to because we believe in freedom and we believe in choice in the united states of america. And look, if we pursue those policies, yeah, you want to drive an electric vehicle, by all means, drive an electric vehicle. But if you want to buy a michiganbuilt gaspowered car, that is your right and we are going to support your choice to do whatever you want to do and we are going to build prosperity for Michigan Workers in the process. Things to Kamala Harris policies, this is a person who loves to pretend that she stands for american workers. Well, nobody stood as strongly and is probably for american workers then donald j. Trump. He did it for four years, and hes going to do it again. So just in the last few years under Kamala Harris leadership, im going to read this to make sure i get my facts right. Stellantis announced it was going to lay off 2500 michigan autoworkers who make the ram 1500 classic. What a disgrace that is. A Great American automobile, and those jobs are going to get destroyed, and either replaced with Factory Jobs In Mexico or completely eliminated altogether because Kamala Harris doesnt want to empower americans to buy michiganmade automobiles. Last year, gm Let Go 1300 Michigan Workers at two separate facilities, and ford is currently rolling back and a lot of the Tv Production because a lot of americans dont want to buy evs, they want to buy the cars they want to buy. Now why are we doing this to our own workers . Why are we doing this to our own industry . Why are we doing this to our own country . Because Kamala Harris has decided she is going to pursue policies that make her donors, her green scam donors rich, and she is going to impoverish a generation michigan autoworkers. Now of course, remember, the promise that was made, Tim Walz made this argument last night, and one of these things that really, really annoyed the hell out of me is he said, well, look, here is this economist who said that Donald Trumps plans are going to lead to higher inflation. Well, first of all, tim, Donald Trump was already president for four years, rising Takehome Pay and lower inflation, so i dont think those economists know what the hell they are talking about. Even if you ignore the evidence of what Donald Trump did in office, what these economists are saying is if we ship our entire industrial base off to countries like china, its going to make american workers richer somehow. Its going to make our goods cheaper somehow. Well, we have been living through the inflation of the last three and a half years, and we know that when we make our country less selfreliant, when we pursue the policies that Kamala Harris says we ought to pursue, it makes americans poorer, it drives up the cost of food and housing, and makes our country less prosperous, and it makes our nation more dependent on people who dont like us to make the critical stuff that we need. Weve got to get rid of that. Stop listening to the economist and start listening to Common Sense in this country. [cheers] but think about this. They said heres the deal. Tim walz has the audacity and Kamala Harris has the audacity to say that, well, Donald Trumps policies are enacted, thats going to lead to higher prices for american consumers. Tim, we already ran this experience once. Donald trumps economic policies worked for american families, they worked for american consumers. But here is the thing. Think about it. If a chinese company wants to hire a literal Slave Laborer making 4 a day, and they want to import the goods made by that Slave Laborer, then its going to make americans poorer because of course we shouldnt expect american middleclass workers to work for a wage in china. We ought to expect our middleclass workers to be able to support a family on those wages, and that is what we are going to fight for every single day. So heres what youve got to do to prevent those countries and those companies from undercutting the wages of american workers. Youve got to be willing to impose tariffs. Fight back against the theft of the american middleclass. Penalize those companies that are Shipping Jobs overseas and give a Tax Cut to american workers. Thats how you build prosperity for this country and thats what we are going to fight for. [cheers] and lets just recap what Kamala Harris policies have actually done. The average Michigan Family is spending over A Thousand Dollars per month to pay for what they could have bought three and a half years ago. Thats 12,000 a year, a hidden tax of 12,000 a year just to be able to buy what you could have bought three and a half years ago. That is not proworking people. Kamala harris has provided over policies that have seen the cost of Housing Go Up by over 50 . That is not proworking families. She has seen policies that have seen the cost of eggs go up by more than double. A gallon of milk is now about 4 in the state of michigan. Groceries are up 25 . Kamala Harris Leadership has been tried and it has been found wanting and americans, we want to get back to Common Sense. We want to be able to afford a nice living, a nice house for our families, and to do that we have got to elect a common Sense Leadership of donald j. Trump, and thats exactly what everybody in this room is going to do. [cheers] now i want to talk about just something else. You no Credit Card only when sees are about 9 right now. That means a lot of american families are sacrificing, they are not paying their Credit Card debt so they can afford groceries or they can afford the mortgage. What a disgrace and what a sad commentary it is on Kamala Harris economic policies that youve got hardworking people who are doing everything they can to provide for their families and they are further behind, not because they are not doing their job but because Kamala Harris isnt doing hers. And maam, you are right, Kamala Harris doesnt care about this because she doesnt understand, she doesnt talk to anybody. Shes afraid of interviews. So she doesnt talk to people and she doesnt realize that her economic policies are making it harder on american families. And you all know my story, i talked about it a little bit last night, but i was raised by a grandmother who sometimes would refuse to turn on the heating at night when times got especially tough. I was raised by a woman who would sometimes forgo paying for her own medicines so that she could put food on the table in our family. And i remember feeling, even though money was tight, that thanks to my grandmother, i never really lacked for anything, but american grandparents and american Parents Shouldnt have to make those sacrifices to begin with. If you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to afford a good life for your family, and that is what Donald Trump and i are going to fight for every single day for the next four years. We are going to take a few questions but i want to talk about one more issue because the american media and especially Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, they dont want to talk about how this illegal immigration crisis is a theft of The American Dream from American Citizens. And we see this in small communities. We see this in big cities all over our country. When you let in 25 Million people, you know what that does . That stresses municipal budgets so a lot of cities and Towns Cant afford to provide for their own citizens because they are focused on providing for people who shouldnt be here. You know hospital wait times because illegal aliens use Hospital Emergency rooms primarily, so hospital wait times have gone up in the state of michigan. They are close to three hours for American Citizens who want to go into the hospital and see a doctor. We have got so many problems. Housing. You know, when you let in 25 Million illegal aliens and they compete with americans for scarce homes, that drives up the cost of housing and that is a major cost of the housing crisis. I had the Debate Moderator Attempt to factcheck me last night. She said whats your evidence that illegal immigration promotes and increases housing costing increasing . I said first of all, Common Sense. When you let in millions of people who shouldnt be here, you have to house them somewhere, and those are houses that ought by right go to American Citizens. Donald trump and i are going to fight for that every single day. American homes for american people. [applause] but there is also, to talk about tim Walz Economist that he loves to cite, our own federal reservd a study that shows that when you let in a lot of illegal aliens, it jacks up the price of housing. So how about this simple principle. Kamala harris wants to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. [boos] she does. She wants to bankrupt that a care by Giving Medicare to illegal aliens. Do we want that . She wants to bankrupt Social Security by giving Social Security to illegal aliens. Do we want that . Here is the Donald Trump plan and here is the Donald Trump message to illegal aliens in this country. In six months, pack your bags because you are going home. Thats what we are going to do. [applause] and you know, you heard this a little last night, you hear a lot of talk about compassion with the issue of illegal immigration comes up. Well, lets talk about compassion. Because i am the father of three beautiful young kids. I dont think it is compassionate to empower the mexican Drug Cartels to engage in Sex Trafficking along our southern border. Thats not compassionate. I dont believe that its compassionate to flood american cities and towns with fentanyl that is killing our citizens by the tens of thousands. I dont believe that it is compassionate to allow our southern border to become a Drug Trafficking and Business Zone or some of the most evil and terrible people in the world. You know what is compassionate . Closing that border down and putting the interests of American Citizens first, and that is what we are going to do. [cheers] you know, because these guys, they love to talk about threats to democracy. Well, as Donald Trump often remind you, he took a bullet for democracy, so i do think that any person can accuse the guy of doing anything other than fighting every single day to make this country more prosperous and to make the world more peaceful. But when the media talks about threats to democracy, you know what a threat to democracy is . When you have Kamala Harris running for president despite not earning a single vote from democratic primary voters. That is a threat to democracy. You know what else is a threat to democracy . When Big Tech Firms and major american companies and big government censors American Citizens and deprives them of their voice in the town square. Thats a way bigger threat to democracy than anything else going on, and we are going to stop, we are going to stop it right away. I genuinely think this is one very big difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Look, i disagree, of course, with Kamala Harris, i disagree with governor walz, i disagree with a lot of the folks who support him, but i would die fighting to defend their right to speak their mind even if i disagree with it, and i think every single person in this room believes that because we believe in free speech. [cheers and applause] and as a person who was raised by a couple of workingclass, bluecollar democrats, i want to say to every democrat who is watching at home, every democrat who is in this room, you are more than welcome in Donald Trumps republican party, we are the party of Common Sense. Weve got a big ten, and you are welcome in our movement. Because whether you agree or disagree with us about Tax Policy or regulatory policy, i think a lot of americans are saying they are sick of the censorship. They are sick of being told what to think and what to say. They are sick of being told they are not allowed to be friends with people they disagree with politically, and they are sick of tired of being told by their government to shut up because we believe in the first amendment in this country. You have every right to petition your government and tell them they are screwing up, and thats exactly what Kamala Harris is doing. [cheers and applause] that is why Bobby Kennedy endorsed Donald Trump back because we believe in persuading our fellow americans and not silencing them here that is a big difference between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Yesterday, governor Tim Walz said that he cannot shout fire in a crowded theater. You know that line is from a disgraced Supreme Court opinion, we believe that the solution to bad ideas is to debate them and persuade our fellow americans. Kamala harris believes the solution to things she disagrees with his to silence you and to shut you up, it is disgraceful, it is antiamerican and we will not stand for it and it Donald Trumps political movement. You are the sitting Vice President and you have not done anything for the american workers and american people. She cannot say Day One we will make the borders more secure because she has been to the borders are for years, telling americans at the border is the cure, she has to do something about it now rather than lying and gas citing the american people.
