The vote will now head to the floor for final confirmation.
The committee voted 21-3 in favor of Raimondo, bringing her one step closer to officially moving to D.C. It also comes just hours before the Governor is expected to deliver what could be her final State of the State address.
Governor Gina Raimondo hasn’t spoken publicly in the Ocean State in 44 days. Now that her nomination will be brought to the floor for confirmation, Wednesday could be the last time people hear from her publicly as the Governor of Rhode Island.
The approval comes just over a week after the Governor defended her nomination in D.C. and testified before the committee.
