SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) -- The Farmersburg Marshal's Office reported Tuesday that a chase ensued when a driver headed through Farmersburg northbound on Highway 41 at 90 mph.
At approximately 2 p.m., Marshal Cody Strain saw the vehicle, which declined to stop when he tried to initiate a traffic stop, continuing on the highway at between 70 and 80 mph. The vehicle came to a stop near 41 and Pimento Circle in Vigo County, with Deputy Marshal Cole Pickett, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Copeland and the Indiana State Police assisting in the stop.
When the driver was removed from the vehicle, officers observed paraphernalia in plain view. A search yielded marijuana, paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
