Bob Cross, the man who crashed his small airplane Thursday into a field north of the Eugene Airport, is still in the hospital and his condition is improving.
The 51-year-old is a native of Eugene and a graduate of Churchill High School, according to Donna Moore, a family friend who is acting as the spokesperson.
"The family of Bob Cross continues to be overwhelmed and grateful by the love and support shown not only by the Eugene community, but by those throughout Oregon and the Northwest communities where Bob worked," Moore said in a statement.
Cross serves as the president of Lee Built Construction in Eugene, a company that oversees the construction and maintenance needs of more than 1,300 branches at financial institutions, according to its website.
