CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Two weeks prior to the NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers -- general manager Koby Altman, assistant GM Mike Gansey and head coach J.B. Bickerstaff -- flew to Auburn University for a private, in-person workout with Isaac Okoro.
Following his on-court session, where he displayed an improved jumper, easy hops, an NBA-ready body and contagious tenacity, the Cavs took Okoro to dinner, wanting to get to know him better. It was also a chance for Okoro to build trust with members of the organization, perhaps even his future coach.
