Hudson County continued the backbreaking work Tuesday of digging out from the massive snowstorm that dumped more than a foot of snow on city streets.
While more than 2 feet fell in parts of the state — including over 30 inches in Sussex County — more than 16 inches was reported on the ground in Harrison on Tuesday.
After most residents hunkered down at home on Monday, the sidewalks all over the county Tuesday were lively with residents clearing walkways with shovels and snowblowers.
On Bergenline Avenue in Union City, shops and businesses were open while cars and jitney buses drove cautiously along the street. On sidewalks and crosswalks, the pristine snow of Monday had softened into wet gray slush.
