Illinois is about to embark down a very dark path, with the help of our esteemed Governor. The state is currently working with a privately owned company in a “public-private” partnership in order to bring about the country’s first vaccine passport. Many states have already come out against such measures. They are not needed. Very soon, all people who are at risk of serious complications related to COVID, those over the age of 65, and those with pre-existing conditions, will have had access to the vaccines. Who will we be left? Only those individuals who do not wish to be vaccinated. Ask yourself, should healthy individuals be forced to take a vaccine for something as innocuous as COVID because some who are at risk refuse to get vaccinated? Helping save those who do not wish to be saved. Is this fair? Keep in mind the average age of death for victims is 80, and the vast majority of people that have died from this disease, who were under the age of 75, have been obese. If we were an honest society, we would be discussing mandatory gym memberships for the masses. As to the vaccine passports, if Illinois decides to roll this out, while the majority of other states ban such measures, our state’s net outward migration with pick up quite a bit of steam. Seems like that would be very detrimental to an already shaky economy, and local property values. Lastly, ask yourself, will these passports end with one vaccine? Many are unaware of the social credit scoring system deployed by other countries. Please, do some research into these systems, then ask yourself, is it that much of a leap to see the parallels. In this country we have the right of freedom of movement, guaranteed by the Constitution. Those at the state and federal level know that vaccine passports cannot be instituted by the government. They are expecting that private business will do their dirty work, and enforce these passports. Please, resist this at every turn, and at all costs.
