I was very encouraged to see such a traditional powerhouse retailer as Tesco encourage customers to visit their local pubs in a recent national advertising campaign.
In this week alone data was taken from a sample of 2,900 customers in North Herefordshire.
It showed that overall spending across all sectors of the economy was up 65.5 per cent compared to a normal pre-lockdown Monday
Spending in barbers was up 341.5 per cent.
Pub spending was at 95.5 per cent of normal levels, despite their only being able to operate at reduced capacity.
