The day before the snow disappeared all across Ohio and the juncos abandoned us for the green coniferous forests of Canada, I bought another 50 pounds of snow melt at the Ace and two goodly bags of bird feed. 
Made no sense at all. I knew March was upon us and the bags would surely sit unopened on the back porch for nine months. They weren’t even on sale.
Did the same thing last year.
