Highways England has been forced to reschedule survey work on the A1 due to clashes with roadworks in the area.
The survey is needed to develop the detailed design for the improvements to the A1 between Morpeth and Ellingham, which is due to start in 2022
However, Highways England have announced that they “were unable to carry out the previously planned survey works at the River Coquet Bridge […] due to activities on the wider road network that were outside our control”.
A Highways England spokesperson confirmed that the “activities” relate to “overnight roadworks nearby as part of the A1 Scotswood to North Brunton improvement”.
