Sergeant scott lunger was shot and killed during a traffic stop. People came out to show their respects as we have seen this is a death that has solidified a community in mourning. Reporter he completed thousands of successful sky dives and base jumps like this jump off a cliff on a bicycle. He had a successful jump before the accident. He was extremely safe and careful. Reporter he and fellow extreme athletes jump through mountains and hurdle off sky scrapeles. Joining an estimated 10 to 15 base jumpers a year. Just this may famous base jumper died when he jumped with the wind suit and in january josh shepherd was killed jumping from a tv tower in michigan. His parachute failed to open. Observers called the death an epidemic. Part of the attraction is that it has an outlaw image. Base jumping is by far the most dangerous thing you can do with your body. Thats just not going to change. Exciting but so risky. Seems like there have been a lot of shark sightings. Today two six foot sharks were spotted swimming near the shore on long island. It started this afternoon along highway 50 in the El Dorado National forest. In the bay area the wragg fire has been burning for more than 24 hours. The wildfire burning in Lake Berryessa has burned nearly 7,000 acres and is only 15 contained. Hundreds of homes are being threatened. We have live Team Coverage of the wragg fire. Lets begin with Wayne Freedman. Reporter some of the residents in golden bear are returning home. What makes this fire particularly difficult now is the terrain. Its extremely steep, very inaccessible. The brush is old growth brush. It burns hot and long. Now add the wind and you have an unpredictable situation. Aside from the flames and the smoke this was life in the wragg fire zone today. The series of road blocks and evacuated people who were worried. Because it is growing big real fast and getting close. Her father lives up the mountain and is staying put. If we leave we have to stay. Reporter many residents did evacuate and remain outside the fire zone. They left empty roads and wide open gates so that firefighters can get in if needed. This is an old drill for them. The saddest part for me is all the wild life that gets killed and injured. Reporter the wragg fire began yesterday afternoon and tore through 500 acres in the first hour and now it is in the 7,000 acre range. All day cal fire has been concerned about a return of the winds. Today is going to be the telling factor really. Reporter they have not been as bad as yesterday allowing an arial assault by three tankers and ten helicopters. Watched it all from his mountain top.
