Reporter the budget analysis puts the implementation of tasers at a cost of 8 million, including outfitting units with defibrillators to counter the effects of taser electricity. Theres a definitive risk for sudden death. There could be some tight policies that we put forth to try to mitigate some of those risks. I would like to ask those of you who are thinking about endorsing tasers to please try it on yourself before you make that decision. This morning a san jose man is in jail accused of taking pictures and video of an underage girl on a city bus. Theres more to the story. Abc 7 News ReporterKatie Marzullo has the latest from san jose. Reporter a 16yearold girl told authorities a man was taking pictures and video of her on a bus in san jose. The Sheriffs Office investigated and identified 70yearold florencio hernandezpalmo as the suspect. The Sheriffs Office says on at least one occasion when the girl got off the bus, hernandezpalmo followed her and kept recording. They arrested him at a bus stop. The whole situation is gross, its creepy, its unfortunate. Its sad, really. Hopefully the guy will get some kind of mental help. Reporter the Sheriffs Office believes hernandezpalmo has been recording girls for three years. Theyre asking other potential victims to come forward. I would send a message, be more cautious as a parent. I mean, anything can happen. Reporter we talked with the suspects landlords. They were shocked to learn of his arrest. Offcamera they told us hernandezpalmo and his wife have rented a room in their house for five years. They called them good, hard working people. In san jose, Katie Marzullo, abc 7 news. Dozens of people are back in their homes this morning after a fire in San Franciscos chinatown. It started just before 6 00 last night at mason and washington just across from the San Francisco cable car museum. 30 people were evacuated. A child went to the emergency room for an evaluation. No one else was hurt. The former twitter employee who temporarily disabled president trumps personal twitter account could face criminal charges. The stillunidentified person who was contracting for twitter may have violated the Computer Fraud and abuse act. Experts say that person had the power to tweet something that could start a war or compromise national security. If charged and found guilty, the person responsible could face up to ten years in prison. Happening today, nationwide protests against the president. The group refuse fascism has organized rallies in 22 cities. Theres one in San Francisco today at union square. Protesters will rally at 3 00 p. M. And march at 4 00. Reporter this morning, former 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick, alleging that some of the nfls most powerful owners colluded to keep him out of football. The owners are asked to hand over cellphone records and emails. Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the nfl and all 32 team owners, according to documents obtained by abc news. Kaepernicks lawyer claims multiple nfl head coaches and general managers stated that they wanted to sign mr. Kaepernick, only to mysteriously go silent. Kaepernick drew National Attention last year for kneeling during the National Anthem prior to games to protest social injustice against africanamericans. Reporter the case stemming from an investigation into claims that weinstein assaulted boardwalk empire actress paz de la huerta. She says he drove her home from a party and forced himself on her. Its often seen as enough corroboration to make an arrest. Reporter weinsteins representative maintains, any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by mr. Weinstein. Police in london are now reportedly looking into allegations Actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted a man in 2008. The Guardian Newspaper reporting the alleged assault happened at the famed old vic theater while spacey was artistic director. This Facebook Post from a mexican actor says the star routinely preyed on young actors there. Meanwhile, allegations from the set of spaceys hit show house of cards are mounting. Eight new accusers speaking anonymously to cnn saying spacey made crude comments and inappropriately touched them, creating a toxic environment for some young men on the set of the show. Transit officials have adopted a new bicycle parking plan to reduce the number of bikes on trains. The new plan adds more bike parking spots to stations along the corridor. Right now 93 of bicyclists bring their bikes on board. The new plan would free up space to accommodate more riders. Dozens of temporary homes will soon be available to fire victims in Sonoma County. Fire destroyed an estimated 5,000 homes there. The board of supervisors approved a plan to lease 80 rv spaces at the Sonoma County fairgrounds and create another 120. Fema will provide the temporary homes. Anyone can apply for Disaster Relief in the press democrat building.
