Oakland police say theyre responding to several sideshows in west and east oakland right now. And here is a look at one of the active scenes at high street and coliseum way. A large crowd is gathered at the intersection as cars race around the circle. Sideshows have been an ongoing problem in the city. They were beefing up and preparing last sunday. Just last month they arrested five people and impounded motorcycles after nearly 200 bikers showed up to perform in sideshows. New developments on a deadly pileup in san pablo. Overnight, chp officers arrested a hit and run suspect in connection with the crash. That killed four people. Six others were injured. Abc 7 news is at the scene on westbound i80 near San Pablo Dam road. That happened after 8 00 last night. A white sedan hit the center divide. Two darkcolored suvs were also damaged. The chp says another sedan flipped upside down killing all the passengers inside. One of the vehicles overturned. The driver of that vehicle was transported for his injuries. His four passengers were all pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators say a fifth car involved left the scene. They caught up with that driver. The suspect, several hours later. Postal inspectors are trying to find someone who mailed an explosive device to the home of a Police Officer in alameda. Officers detonated the device on friday. There were injuries but not told us the extent of the injuries or how many people were hurt. Alcohol, tobacco and firearms agents are joining the investigation. A tree came down in San Francisco blocking traffic in corona heights. Abc 7 news was at Roosevelt Way where the large pine tree fell around 6 30 last night. It took more than an hour to clean up. He faces multiple charges. The victims name has not been released. Officers have arrested a prominent marin county businessman at his novato home after being called to a shooting. The imam who survived describes the moment of terror. Abc News Reporter linda lopez has more. So many graves and so many more for the over 300 victims including 27 children in the horrifying terrorist attack on an egyptian mosque. The surviving imam conducting friday prayers at the time of the assault, recounting the moment the slaughter began. Saying i heard what sounded like an explosion outside the mosque and some people came inside firing at the worshippers. Survivors two dozen militants carrying isis flags surrounded the mosque 125 miles northeast of cairo hurling explosives into the mosque and firing at everybody trying to escape. Then they stepped inside, shooting anybody who was still alive. Many victims said their final prayers during the carnage and they even shot at arriving ambulances. No group has claimed responsibility but the Islamic State is suspected. Those worshipping may have followed a mystical form of islam called sufism. Isis considers it heresy. Muslims in the u. S. A ninth grader is the only person of interest in the disappearance of his grandmother in florida. Her remains may have been found in a grave in his backyard. Katrina french has been missing since wednesday. Her 15yearold grandson was detained friday night by federal agents near the canadian border. Motts arrest is comforting to his florida neighbors. Horrifying that Something Like this could happen to any family. As a mom, it makes me feel better it wasnt a stranger that picked a random house and broke into it and did this violence. Motts mother says hes had trouble adjusting in recent months after transferring away and entering high school. A spear fishermen is expected to make a full recovery after being bitten by a shark. That attack happened friday in Stillwater Cove off pebble beach. Witnesses reported seeing the shark come up from behind the man. Two offduty sheriffs deputies happened to be fishing in the area. They put a tourniquet on his leg to stop the bleeding. The victim is 25 years old and was fishing with his father at the time. Swam to the surface to tell his dad what he had seen and when he was at the surface, the shark attacked him. The wetsuit was inside the zodiac. It was shredded. There was a lot of blood. They now have signs posted at the beach warning people about that shark attack. Monterrey county Sheriffs Office says there had been previous reports of a shark in the area. The giving spirit is alive and well this holiday season. A secret santa showed up at a toysrus store in new jersey to do some shopping with his son. Youll notice from clear lake to lower lake, weve got moderate rain and pushing to the south from dillon beach to marquez springs, santa rosa, its been raining. Further south into marin county, west marin around marshall looking at some wet weather and then one more stop and youll notice were still offshore with some of the heavier downpours which will fill in throughout the morning and Late Afternoon hours. Were going to provide a little bit of sunshine. That will work to destabilize the atmosphere further. We can see the downpours come down further with a thunderstorm. Winds down 1200 feet. It tapers off overnight tonight. So its in a couple of parts this storm system from tonight throughout the afternoon into tomorrow. Well break it down to a 1 on our storm impact scale. Gusty winds. It pushes through and then behind it, look at all the showers that will develop. By about 5 00, as the atmosphere has a chance to warm up and heat the ground, we could see some of the thunderstorms. Overnight, things settle down and were sunny towards your monday morning commute. Amounts anywhere from a quarter of an inch to. 6 in calistoga. Maybe a third of an inch in oakland through tomorrow morning. Heres the front this morning. Ahead of it with the breezy winds, 20 to 30 miles an hour. 10 00 this morning, mainly on the coast. The 30 mile an hour wind gusts. Remember, with the downpours, you do see some isolated heavy winds and then with the system, the main system tonight, even gustier. Reporter its a day that craig teixeira might otherwise dread. Yet another trip to the doctor. Another visit among many for the bone cancer survivor. Everybody is really interesting. Reporter but on this day, his trip will be a bit easier because he knows he wont be alone. The ride is the obvious thing you really need the ride. But they have empathy and concern for people that have cancer. I was here before it was fremont. Really . Teixeira is another one of the bay area Cancer Patients benefiting from drivers for survivors. Volunteers like this man commit to not only picking up and delivering patients to their appointments, but they also provide companionship along the way. Cheer them up with whatever distraction i can. And say hey, did you see the ball game yesterday . Now in its fifth year, drivers for survivors is expanding beyond the area to several more cities and the nonprofit formed a partnership with kaiser permanente. We have the tools for diagnosis, for treatment, but we have the emotional support items as we have our network in the community. It is a challenging time for those that get diagnosed and being able to have a friend that actually goes with you and cares about your wellbeing its going to be an hour and a half. Get seen by your doctor and you have somebody there supporting you when you walk out of the office. You feel like somebody is in your corner. Its really nice. In fremont, Laura Anthony, abc 7 news. This is a time lapse from a previous event. The world tree of hope is adorned with thousands of origami cranes. People write their wishes for the future on these paper cranes. Volunteers will begin setting up the tree today. There will be an official Tree Lighting certificaemony monday, december 4th along with a concerts by the San Francisco boys chorus.
