Reporter that concern over safety as the Broward CountySheriffs Office investigates reports that at least three deputies remained outside the school and didnt rush in during the rampage. Late last night, the Sheriffs Office issued a statement saying this is only a claim. The schools resource officer Deputy Scot Peterson resigned. The sheriff says he took cover and failed to confront the alleged shooter, nikolas cruz. He was supposed to protect these kids. He didnt. Instead, my teachers, my friends threw their bodies on kids to protect them. Reporter the Broward CountySheriffs Office says the allegation that deputies didnt enter the school during the shooting was made from nearby officers from Coral Springs who were also on the scene.
