The driver is in Critical Condition with significant burns. Investigators are looking into whether speed played a role in that crash. After three years on the job, the Oakland Police commission has fired the citys police chief. Commissioners say they lost confidence in Anne Kirkpatrick, the decision came down in a closed door meeting last night. Abc7 news reporter, Amy Hollyfield has more on this. Amy . Anne kirkpatrick became the First Female Police chief in the citys history when mayor libby schaaf hired her. Schaaf was the one to inform kirkpatrick immediately after the decision was made. Commission chair Regina Jackson explained the termination was made without cause. The Oakland Police commission does have the authority to remove the police chief under a voter ballot initiative.
