M. The u. S. Economy would reopen in phases under president trumps plan. Yesterday the president laid out the benchmarks we would have to meet in order for that to happen. Jobina fortson is at the live desk with details. Good morning, kumasi. President trump admits its up to the governors to decide when states can pull back on social distancing measures and reopen businesses. But the president did lay out some recommendations during yesterdays press conference. He believes that the country should reopen in phases. Once states see a twoweek decline in the number of people with coronavirus symptoms and in the percentage of people who test positive, it can enter phase one. Businesses can slowly look at ways to reopen. People may be allowed to social in groups with fewer than ten people, but would still be required to social distance. If states go two weeks without a rebound in covid19 cases, they can enter phase two. Restaurants, movie theaters and bars may be allowed to reopen with social distancing protocols. We are not opening all at once, but one careful step at a time. And some states will be able to open up sooner than others. In the case that a state is successful with phases one and two, phase three involves letting everyone come back to work and opening up larger venues. Kumasi, back over to you. Thank you, jobina.
