Maybe some sub tropical moisture our way and the possibility of dry lightning which the National Weather service has highlighted in a fire weather watch tomorrow morning through tuesday. Last weekend we didnt have a fire weather watch and had all the thunderstorm activity. The erratic winds and so this week looking at another hurricane that will show you in a moment that is adding some instability to the atmosphere. Here is live doppler 7. Fog at coast. Haze around the bay and as we look at the past 18 hours, you will notice the moisture in the cafornia today around slus obispo. Well see a few of them and as we get into your sunday. Here is the triggering mechanism we like to call it. It is whats left over after jenaveve. That comes into play and that could produce the dry lightning and once we have that. We could have some gusty winds that could wreak havoc with the kurn fires or even start more fires with the dry lightning. Of in the city. 79 in oakland. 57 Half Moon Bay and you can see the poor air quality in emeryville. S, sta rosa. 68 in napa. D with thefog, visibility reduced tobo ts and a halfbut haze we have three mile visibility, hayward and in thba. There is the fog with the Golden Gate Bridge and looking at not only the smoke and haze into the weekend, even into the foreseeable future. The better handle we get on the fires, the better air quality. But it is going to be around for a while. With the fog dissipating and looking at the hot weather inland today and tomorrow and the humidity increasing. A look at the fine particulate matter inundating the from plentiasanton to san jose. Should change as we get a wind shift and more of that smoke is moved around. High clouds throughout the day btoistur your u o shore that could instigate the potential for that dry lightning. So we are looking and watching that closely. With the hayes conditions, its been area of High Pressure that brought the excessive heat last week. Well a piece of that is back building into our east bay. So that is why it is going to be so warm there today. Mi mi mid maybe some upper90s. And the breeze in between. For 70s. And for everyone the smoke and haze out there. The accuweather 7 day forecast. 60s at the coast. Upper60s downtown. Lowol low80s around the bay. Thunderstorms early on sunday. But cool at the coast and well talk about how the thunderstorms could impact the rest of us, all of us, through tomorrow and in early next week. Liz . All right. Lisa. Thank you. We want to get back to you are breaking news. The bay areas wild fire emergency. The massive lnu lightning collection in the north bay. Now the second largest in state history. Cal fire says the fire has destroyed more than 500 buildings. Burned nearly 350,000 acres with 15 containment and killed a total of at least five people. The walbridge fire within this complex is where cornell bernard is live in healdsburg following the latest. Good morning again. Reporter hey liz, new day on this fire bringing some brand new concerns. Cal fire telling me that the winds are shift to the north east. That is going make this firefighter even more challenging. Check it out. This is smoke from the walbridge fire of course. That ridge you are looking at is several miles from central healdsburg and trying to keep it from getting any closer to where we are. Overnight the fire almost doubling in size to 50,000 acres. Still zero percent contained. There is some good news though. Calfire is getting more help on this fire. More resources. On the air, on the state making this fire fight a big priority. Getting more resources over there. We added approximately 500 people in 24 hours. 90 hours straight. They are sleeping on top of their vehicles. They are doing so much right now. But it is working. It is effective. Reporter the mayor of windsor is happy to see more reinforcements on the fire. Winds are not under the e evacuation warning but the town, the day just beginning so is a brand new fireeasbg. Abc7 news. And to a Live Press Conference happening right now. Cal fire is giving an update from marin county on the woodward fire burn there in the point reyes coast area. We are looking at doing some indirect line on the ridge with the dozers. Within the park boundaries. Weve gte permission and to successful. Get some more direct line and containment on the north side of the fire. As we come around outside of that, the fire is burning in some very huge doug fir draped with the moss. Stuff that is usually dripping wet during the summer is not dripping wet at all. It is very dry out there. Those fuels and the pine loves fire. It is very thick but a lot of dead components built into that as well. And that is where the fire is going up on the top end of the fire. Fisrth nohe tt our biggest concern. The other big concern right snow a possible wind shift and weather change. If you are watching the Weather Service and how things are going there, we are expecting thunderstorms and lightning in the next 2448 hours, which could cause some big issues if the air is dry and we start getting a bunch of wind. So we are in the planning phases of preparing and developing containment and strategies to hold the fire close to the Park Headquarters and around there. Lot of work going on on the road systems. So a lot of firefighters, whatever we can grab are working on those road systems and trying to get ahead of the fire. On the south end of the fire weve had a lot of difficulties trying to see through the smoke, get underneath the smoke and find the fire edge and manage that situation, as far as where its at, where it is going and what the threats are. Thats why the large warning area out. The potential for the fire to move Long Distance is still very much in place. And give you a heads up and prepare you for the there is an evacuation so you have time to prepare. Thank you. Thank you, chief. Our commander just gave a lot of the operational briefing. I understand for all the residentshis presents lf stress, a lot of challenges, the good news is were starting to get more resources, which is helping a lot. Weve been aggressively fighting this fire since it started. It is just as you are all aware the state is so drawn down on resources, engines, crews, buldsers, aircraft. A lot of competition for that. But were getting fills which is good news. Thanks to Sonoma County sheriff helicopter for their work last night. As well as chps helicopter for being there. Much appreciated. Weve got a Community Meeting tonight at 5 00 p. M. Which im sure brent and our pio will review. And again, thank you all for your patience. Thank you for the wellwishes. We have some weather changes coming. But our men and women out there are doing a fantastic job fighting this fire. And they are going to keep after it, most of which have been assigned since the first day without a break. Again, thank you all for being on today. And for all the support weve got from the community. It is much appreciated. Thanks chief. I would like to remind everyone that we are doing our best to provide timely, accurate and information for multiple alvin. The marin county fire twitter feed and facebook for both agencies. In addition we are asking visitors limit their travel to the coastal region. The reason for that is that is egress from the area where we do have evacuation warnings is limited. And in order to provide the safest route possible for evacuations if we do have to issue Evacuation Orders is that we have the least amount of people on the coast as possible. We want to ensure the residents have the means to get out of the area and also that firefighters have the available routes both ingress and egress to fight the fire and save any communities if they were to be threatened. So any visitors that are coming to the coast we ask them and do not come to the coast at this time for the safety of our community. In addition to that we will be providing a town hall tonight. Like chief weber stated, it will be available on zoom and also live on the marin county fire site. As always, if you need anything, feel free to reach tout the marin county fire hotline for daily update, that has updated information on the fire pertaining to the woodward fire incident. Were going to add in some high clouds lair later on today. A live look at doppler 7. The marine layer impacting the coast. Temperatures in upper50s, Half Moon Bay. Inland, mid to upper70s with calm wind. Good 25 degrees increase in temperatures. The high clouds mo the south, impacting us more tomorrow as the moisture continues to rotate around this big dome of High Pressure. And then we had dynamics which is an area of low pressure that is going to move up kind of like what happened last weekend, perhaps instigating those elevated thunderstorms which really involved just dry lightning and the gusty outflow winds and that is what started all the fires. The fire weather watch with us tomorrow morning. Couple of chances to get into that activity. A slight chance tomorrow morning. Nce sunday night into monday and then another chance into tuesday. Look at that haze. 69 in oakland. 73 in mount view and 37 at the coast. 64 santa rosa, 71 in napa and the winds out of the north so a big warm up in the north bay.
