Protests are planned through this weekend in cities across the country as Election Officials continue to count the ballots. Overnight a riot was declared in portland. The National Guard was activated as protests turned violent. Eight people were arrested. In new york city more than 20 arrests were made as people set fires. In boston, the National Guard was ordered on standby as hundreds of marchers took to the streets. In chicago, protesters marched downtown along the river across trump tower. In arizona, more than 200 Trump Supporters swarmed outside, theyre claiming some ballots have not been counted properly. At least two people in the group had guns clearly visible. At one point an Extremist Group was able to get inside the office before being told to leave. Despite the distraction the Elections Department tweeted the staff did continue to do their job. Dozens took to the Embarcadero Plaza to demand all votes be counted. It was one of three rallies in the bay area yesterday. Some gathered in oakland and faith leaders voiced their concerns in san jose. Republican National Committee woman of california harmid dillon was quick to ask about their motives. It shows guns on the ground left behind by the criminals. Officers believe they were targeting the weapons section of these stores. They broke windows to get in. One man who owns a business in this Shopping Center was relieved his shop wasnt targeted but says this impacts everyone in the area. Translator felt bad. This affects all of our businesses. Clients will stop coming in the case of vandalism, broken windows, thats extra costs. Were in a pandemic and dont make enough money to cover everything. He told us he saw them pull up in cars, use a cutting tool to get through the iron gate and then start breaking windows and start looting. Sheriffs deputies used a drone to search the area but everyone got away. No arrests have been made. New developments in a string of armed robberies in oakland. One person died after a Police Shooting following a robbery at a marijuana business. Three officers were hit by cars as suspects fled. The president is leading by a slim margin there right now with just over 18,500 votes. Georgias secretary of state says there are under 25,000 ballots left to count. Workers have been counting ballots in battleground states all night long. This is a live look at ballot counting under way in philadelphia. The results are still too close to call in five states. So heres the breakdown. Biden has won the states in blue, 253 electoral votes. 17 shy of being elected president. President trump has won the states in red with 214 electoral votes. In arizona, counting is continuing despite demonstrations outside of several vote counting locations. Arizonas top election officer spoke about the count on gma. So it looks like there are just under 300,000 votes left to count in Maricopa County, which is twothirds of the voting population, where the bulk of the votes are. Statewide just under 450,000 votes left to count. Maricopa county says they wont have any official vote count updates until tonight. Georgias secretary of state plans to provide an update at 7 30 this morning. Nevada also intends to update its vote talley at 9 00 a. M. Thank you. Lets talk about pennsylvania. Democrats and americans across the country want those votes counted. In georgia, its gotten tighter and tighter overnight. Theres about 91,000 voting outstanding statewide but President Trumps lead in georgia is just 18,000, george. Meantime, arizona got better for President Trump overnight. Things are looking better for President Trump right now. Theres about 275,000 votes outstanding in Maricopa County. About 100,000 to 200,000 more around the rest of the state and its gotten narrower and narrower. 68,000 is the spread. Joe bidens lead is 68,000. But you can see there are hundreds of thousands of votes still outstanding. Thats why President Trump thinks he still has a path in zone arizona. If he wins arizona its going to be a long week. In phoenix, arizona, a couple hundred Trump Supporters descended on the recorders office. They accused the county of using sharpie pens to make some ballots invalid. Filled out the front side of my ballot in the sharpie. When i turned it over it bled through to badly i was concerned. Election Officials Say there are no issues with sharpies. They have processes in place to make sure ballots are counted regardless of what you use to fill them out. Still the Arizona Attorney Generals Office is investigating this. Voting might be over but the fight against misinformation and disinformation goes on. A lot of that centers around the bay area as social Media Companies look to separate fact from fiction. Thats why facebook and twitter are working to label misinformation but the two social Media Companies are handling it very differently. When President Trump tweeted early wednesday where he baselessly claimed were up big but theyre trying to steal the election, twitter hid the tweet behind the label and restricted how it can be shared so you cannot directly retweet it. Facebook used vague language in its labeling, did not restrict how the post can be viewed or shared. According to cnn the two most popular posts on facebook in the past 24 hours are posts from trump making false claims about Election Results. Twitter has actually done perhaps the best job out of any of the social networks at labeling misinformation. Social Networks Must continue their policies from anyone calling the election early or specific states early or claiming there is fraud in the election process. They must remember that lies spread faster than the truth. Faceboo is running notifications in the top of users feeds on the platform and the other it zoneowns, instagra reminding users that the count is still happening. President trump calls this censorship by big tech companies.
