The curfew we mentioned kicks in tomorrow night, and in the bay area only marin county remains in the less restrictive red tier. Reporter youre right about that. So many people caught off guard, diane. Surprised to see their favorite attractions temporarily closed due to new purple tier restrictions including indoor worship. You teach us to love the things of heaven and hold fast to what endures through christ our lord. Reporter San Francisco catholic archbishop ended the last mass for a while but he wasnt happy about that. He understands the citys move to the purple tier means an end to indoor worship. But he says the church has proven it can safely social distance in a cathedral which normally seats 2,500. Its hard i think to have one policy for all churches. So i would like to see something thats more reasonable, that errs on the side of safety, but also respects our First Amendment right to worship. A massive covid19 Testing Campaign got underway today in four of San Franciscos most vulnerable neighborhoods. This free ucsf run Covid Testing Center will be in operation through tuesday. 500 tests a day will be administered here. Other testing locations include the 24th Street Mission bart station, the excelsior at amazon and at st. Anthonys in the tenderloin. These neighborhoods were selected because, number one, they have high rates of covid positivity since the beginning of the pandemic, and also high numbers of latinos who we know are particularly impacted by covid19. Organizers are targeting 6,000 tests to be performed. People will get a rapid test swab with results available in about 15 minutes. Drivers who use 19th avenue on the west side of the city are being warned to expect delays.
