San Francisco Police shot and killed a man who drove through the chinese consulate. Police say he rammed his car through the building while lines of people were sitting inside. Sfpd says they got the call yesterday afternoon to the part of the building thats used to grant visas from the chinese government. But witnesses say the man got out of the car, was shouting about the ccp, otherwise known as the Chinese Communist party. The Us State Department is now working with the consulate to investigate what happened. He clearly tried to get something from his car because the Security Guard did not take it out. Thats what his Security Guard do not take it out. Do not know what that what it meant. But thats when you know the confrontation happened. Everyone was able to get out as police arrived. Police have not said if that man was looking for anyone in particular at the consulate. Also in San Francisco, police were in a heated standoff with a man allegedly armed with knives at a chase bank on masonic avenue. And fulton street. Police say yesterday the man went in and started to verbally antagonize the Bank Employees and escalated the situation by pulling out knives after being uncooperative with officers. Sfpd said they called in the hostage crisis negotiation team. There were flashbangs and pepper spray spray deployed more than 3. 5 hours later, the suspect was screaming while being taken to an ambulance and then to a nearby hospital. This morning, cable cars in San Francisco will be up and running again after an accident that hurt seven riders, sending six of them to the hospital yesterday. A gripman on board a San Francisco cable car activated the emergency brakes. That car was heading down washington street near taylor when witnesses say a black prius turned onto the tracks right right in front of the powell high street car. So the gripman hit the cable cars emergency brake. But that jolted the 14 people on board. It did avoid that collision, though, but some people lost their footing and fell. The guy, the operator, he actually pulled on like a special brake and everybody went forward like it was a horrible sound. I actually thought we hit the car. Witnesses tell investigators the prius drove off. Fortunately, were told all of the injuries are mostly minor. Time now approaching 510 this morning. Heres live doppler seven along with satellite. Its been a week since a San Francisco public works employee was caught on video pushing a Street Vendors cart. Today that Street Vendor is speaking for the first time in action. I was embarrassed. It was humiliating. I started thinking i just got here after the incident. Juan carlos describes feeling confused with many people passing by asking if he was okay. He says he doesnt even remember seeing the public works employee running towards him. And im pulling my cart and i feel like somebody pushed it. Yeah, i turned around and all my food was on the ground. This video went viral after a group of Community Organizers demanded for the city to intervene. Over the weekend, those same organizers surprised juan carlos with hundreds of people from across the bay area who wanted to meet him and buy hotdogs from him and his family. The video, it was awful. So we decided to plan a buy out for him because pretty much when he pushed his cart, its like he pushed everything he had because thats how he pays the bills. Thats how he puts food on the table for his kids. Thats how he pays rent. In a matter of hours, juan carlos sold 250 hot dogs in a parking lot in alameda. I didnt imagine that i had so much support. There was a long line in this video. Hes thanking everyone for supporting his family online. Many have donated over 50,000 on a gofundme page. Happening today, the port of San FranciscoCommission Meets to consider whether to move the Golden Gate Park ferris wheel to an area near Fishermans Wharf. Supporters of the idea want the ferris wheel to be operated at the wharf by the time apex starts off on november 11th. Thats a pretty tight timeline, but it is possible to move the 150 foot sky. Sky star wheel in time. That apex summit is expected to bring 21 world leaders, 30,000 delegates and 1200 ceos from around the world to the city. San franciscos reputation is at stake, and this could be the beginning of its economic recovery. The city has just one month left to prepare. We had about 250 delegates from around the world. We took them to the tenderloin. And what they said is this happens where were from, too. This is not we dont see what everyone is talking about when, as a major city San Francisco, just like any other major city, it has it. Pumpkin weighoff in Half Moon Bay travis, our friend from the morning show, walked away with 54,741. That includes the 30,000 prize for breaking the world record, organizers say, because of the size of the pumpkin that he brought in, they had to buy a new industrial scale that can hold up to five tons. Farmers from all across the country have all ages, came hauling in their prize gourds, and those were all on display for people to touch and to see up close. Wow. And you could see it this weekend at the pumpkin fest if you want to go check it out, you can take your selfie there by the pumpkins. Yeah, i remember about like ten years ago. We like just broke the 2,000 pound mark. So these farmers are getting a lot better. They figured something out how to get a bigger, fatter, but not tastier because they dont eat it. Oh, do you roast the seeds . I roast the seeds when i have a pumpkin. Yeah love that. That is good. But i dont know if this is for that either. You know, probably a lot of seeds. Yeah, i saw i was watching a different newscast yesterday for a second, and they were like, thats a lot of pumpkin pie. Im like, its not. But it isnt. That could make a lot of pies, though. If you did use it. Its not good. Its not good, no. So as they get bigger, are they just not as tasty or what . Okay, this is for size. Oh. Oh got it. And you know, this how . Because weve been doing this every year. Okay since the beginning of time. And drew knew the statistic right at the top of this. Yeah, i remember this. I was like, i remember we were like, oh, we broke 2,000 pounds. And now were like, closing on 3,000 pounds. And i was like, oh my gosh, very impressive. You can count on it. Have we checked for, like, lead bricks inside . Have we like minnesota, would never do that. Would never. Travis would never. He wouldnt know him. Ron dont do wrong. Dont do ron. Im kidding. We love ron root. We love ron. Congrats to all. That is very cool outside this morning. Heres a live look at our san jose camera. It is just cloudy out there. We have pockets of drizzle this morning. I would actually call this drizzle estimates because as this front moves through later on this afternoon, soon it will bring some areas of showers, mainly to the north bay. Any shower that pops up outside of the north bay will be very light in nature, very similar to what we experienced yesterday. So today well have cloudier skies in the north bay, brighter skies in the south bay, temperatures mainly in the mid 60s and the mid 70s, very similar to where we landed yesterday afternoon. Now, overnight tonight, behind that front will get rid of a lot of the cloud cover.
