So there is enough uplift in the atmosphere to eventually get us something here in the bay area. The biggest area of concern now is here across the lake port clear lake thunderstorms have been going for the past two to three hours. Thats now heading toward 101. We told you about this in the 5 00 show if youre heading anywhere near clover dale or ukia. Watch out for the storm systems over the next 45 minutes. To the south, spotty activity here in san jose not much in the way of rainfall a few drops. Coming up in that forecast 15 minutes, well have details on exactly how much rain we can expect. We did track what there was of it and it was interesting to see that the idea of any kind of storm seems to generate some mixed emotions. As you can tell by looking at this picture of lexington reservoir, any water would be a big help but the drought has created conditions where even a little wind and rain can cause some damage. Through some time lapse pictures, photographer steve field captured the clouds that delivered a little rain to parts of the south bay and santa cruz mountains. Something some bicyclists at lexington reservoir were not expecting. I was shocked to see it raining in the bay area in july. Didnt interfere with your bike ride . No it was great. I felt like i was back east. I could not have been more surprised. Came out happy it wasnt 100 degrees, which is what ive gotten used to. Bob pillgreen has been getting a lot of calls since the first storm forecast. Julie had the crew remove trees from her property getting rid of trees that could fall in the storm and clearing out the area that could be ready when the high fire danger resumes. Reporter the bureau of Land Management is telling nbc bay area that the gun is a 40 caliber semiautomatic, either six auer or a glock and stolen from a park rangers car in San Francisco while he was on official business just four days before the shooting on pier 14. They said they turned over details to San Francisco police. Meanwhile, the man accused of pulling the trigger on that gun is telling a completely different story. In his native tongue of spanish, Francisco Sanchez told telemundo the gun wasnt his, it was different from the kind that police use, it came from some place like the mexican state of chihuahua, and that there was a kid who brings in guns from there. A story that couldnt be more different than what we are hearing from the bureau of Land Management about the gun being stolen from a blm rangers car. There was no time for clarification because the interview was cut short when sanchezs lawyer walked into the jail cell. The blm says they turned over details of the gun theft to San Francisco police. It happened yesterday on the corner of alameda and capital streets. The woman has been identified as 25yearold gina estevez of daily city. Police searched the home near the shooting last night but have not made any arrests. Union city police are trying to figure out how a live tank shell ended up on railroad tracks. It was found by a couple this afternoon. They took the dangerous ammunition to the Police Department, which along with other city offices had to be evacuated. The Alameda CountySheriffs Department has taken control of the live tank shell. Police say if you find a weapon like this, dont touch it just call for help. How the tank shell ended up on the tracks in the first place is under investigation. From the country to the city, Mountain Lions are popping up in unexpected parts of the bay area. There have been several sightings in morgan hills, san mateo and even San Francisco in the past few weeks. Check this out. Surveillance footage caught this Mountain Lion roaming around the city recently. The fourth sighting in the city in the past week. Police in morgan hills said they received a spike in calls about Mountain Lion sightings as well. The animals have mainly been spotted in the southwest part of town. The most recent just this morning. And there have been reports of a cat roaming near park elementary in san mateo. Thats not far from the area where Mountain Lions forced a downtown lockdown last may. That animal was tranquilized and taken back to the hills. It is not a Mountain Lion but a coyote that put an east Bay Community on alert tonight. The coyote captured on camera jumped into a backyard and killed a cat on inspiration circle in dublin. It is all moving right towards the highway, 101 corridor heading anywhere between ukia and clover dale expect wet weather and very slick roadways because of how dry its been lately. Any kind of water on the roads will make it dangerous. As we zoom in and get a closer look heavier pockets continuing now. As we get a wider scan of the Doppler Radar, we had spotty activity near the coast today and the south bay. But were all finished with that at least for right now. A bay area woman charged in the death of her young niece. Gauge was caring for her 2yearold last august when she, the little girl was struck and killed by a car in downtown San Francisco. It happened when gauge left the toddler standing on the median on Mission Street when she went to reach her twin brother left on the sidewalk. Gauge could have faced ten years in prison if convicted. Fire investigators say a power tool is to blame for yesterdays 100 acre brushfire in danville. Contractors were using a grinder when sparks ignited the dry grass. They followed it and found approximately 20 minutes later the same water tender was seen delivering the water to the selleck property. As far back as september 2013 and as recently as march of this year, the Water District claims a truck went back and forth from the hydrant to the selleck ranch, even hired a private investigator to find out where the water was going. Now they have gone to court asking selleck to stop and to pay for the services of a private eye. I didnt come off well there. Now were beginning to see it move closer to the bay area and therefore that activity picked up throughout the sierra and also just off to the north. I want to take you to the Doppler Radar scan right now. Youll see throughout the greater bay area nothing major to track. If you are traveling on highway 101 up near ukia clover dale we have areas of moderate rain that will continue throughout highway 101 in that section for at least the next one hour. It has been erupting across lake port and clear lake with golf ball sized hail numerous Lightning Strikes and heavy rain. I think were on the last leg of this for now. But do be on alert on the highway 101 corridor as you hit clover dale. The cloud cover has increased in one of the coolest widespread days we have seen in several days after 108 degrees last week in livermore. Youre looking good here with 70 now in east bay. The clouds looking beautiful now through our mount diablo camera. It is a sign of those larger changes to come. Lets get you to the forecast. What youre going to see here as we head throughout the forecast for tomorrow the fact that everyone will have the possibility of showers. It is not going to be widespread coverage here of rainfall but expect the chance here to get wet. Temperatures in the upper 50s and also low 60s. The best chance for any kind of measurable rainfall in the morning would be throughout the north bay. Lets get a look. The storm system as you mentioned is just off shore right now.
