Reporter good morning. In the past hour we got some new information from the contra costa Sheriffs Department. Theyre the ones handling this investigation. They told us it started about five miles east from where were standing. Were near the off ramp. It actually dumps you off here on barrett avenue for folks familiar with the area. This is one of the busier streets where the crash took place. This happened all last night on the off ramp. According to the Sheriffs Department, theyre saying they were dispatched to a shoot go around 10 00 p. M. , over there in el sobe rante. There was an indication someone may have been shot and then there was someone leaving the scene shortly there after. They were notified of a car collision and they said there was a driver there suffering from a gunshot wound. The Sheriffs Department at this time believes both those incidents are connected.
