Actually plain closed officers spotted gerry vazaragosa. We knew this individual was a danger to the community and didnt want him out there. Police say zaragosa knew the first three people he killed but not the person on the bus. Investigators are trying to figure out why he went on this killing spree. The future is almost here. A menlo park in jail accused of sexually abusing children for the past 30 years. San mateo county Sheriffs Office released this picture of Randolph Haldeman today. Hes accused of abusing boys in Portola Valley where he works as swim Team Photographer and his home as well. Investigators believe that abuse dates back to the 1980s and they say there may be other victims. Busting a San Francisco dognapper. San Francisco Police arrested leave van lock of taking a golden retriever from outside the japantown market. Surveillance video caught the moment when someone walked up, unclipped the leash and walked off with the dog. It happened back on july 13th. There you see it. The dog was found a day later. The couple told police they found the dog wandering city streets. Police were investigating a vandalism case, as theyived they spott during the investigation realized he matched the description of that dognapper on that tape. Carbon monoxide leak created a big scare at the Vallejo Police department. Dispatchers noticed a rotten egg smell shortly after 5 00 a. M. The Fire Department showed up and evacuated the building. Six employees had low levels of Carbon Monoxide in their system. Thankful they they are okay. A bank of batteries and generators is to blame. Some big billion dollar land bills have been ruffling feathers. One much smaller expansion project is generating just as much buzz. It involves trees in the citys very last apricot or chart. This orchard has been a part of sunnyvale for more than a century. Its owned by the city and tended to by legendary farmer Charley Olson since the 70s. Today is the last cot of apricot season, but after a fight with the city, hes afraid this orchard wont look the same next season. Charlie olson and his workers are cutting ap cots for the last time this season. Hes been tending orchard heritage back since 1977. Even at 84 years old, stillt a reporting, olson and supporters fought an expansion by the sunnyvale museum into the orchard, even though it only meant removing six trees. If you give an inch, they eel take a mile the city approved the expansion pending a study by the staff. The museum says the new addition would mean a much needed library and showcase the citys a aeronautics history. You cant go back to the good old days. Reporter may rose was asking for books to ship to schoolchildren in hawaii and a Redwood City School District gave her all of these. After our story aired, a couple things happened. The district gave may rose a total of 100,000 books and volunteers who saw the story offered to help. In the end may rose had so many books and so much help, she was able to give them to other organizations to share with children who need them. Last year we told you about pattys inspired idea, to raise awareness of gun violence and honor her son, robby, who was killed by it. Patty got together with Law Enforcement agencies to organize gun buy backs and commissioned artists to make art out of them. Her first exhibit was in vallejo. All still in the peninsula right now. Certainly very hot through those inland valleys. Complicated weather pattern happening today. You went anywhere away from the coastline, the high cloud cover streaming across and it was warm. Still at 95 degreein walnut creek. A touch of humidity passing by making it feel a little sticky. Its going to stay hot as we head through tonight, 80s through 8 00, even 70s into 11 00 p. M. Lets show you where some of this humidity is coming from. Its past of two Different Things moving in the atmosphere. The first is a system moving over northern california. The second is remnant moisture from what was once Tropical Storm dahlia. Both of these contributing to the cloud cover and some of that moisture. Now, there is just a very slight chance we could see some dry lightning move across the bay area. Basically lightning without any kind of rainfall accompanying it as well. So again its lightning, no rainfall for us, a slight chance of it happening. You can see at 10 00 tonight, the best chance of rainfalls over the sierra. Might see a small piece of this break off and bring a stray Lightning Strike right here across the bay.
