They need to get help. Reporter investigators released this sketch from witness descriptions. The suspect is described as possibly a latino male, 35 to 50 years old, 59 to 600, medium build. He came up behind the man and hit him hard in the head with a rock and then robbed him while he was on the ground. This is completely and utterly an unprovoked and ruthless assault on one of the most vulnerable members of our community. Reporter police say the suspect was wearing a white tshirt and long black shorts and rode away on a gray and Black Mountain bike. The touchdown would challenge the public to help us in identifying and locating this suspect. If i see somebody like that or ill call the cops and report it. And probably do a citizens arrest until they get here. Reporter while police would prefer citizens just call, we have heard the victim is out of the hospital and recovering at home. Even though police say the attack appears to be an isolated incident, Mission City Memorial Park and police are working together to add security so visitors can come here, pay their respects without fear. The whistle blower report is now public. The document released moments before the acting director of National Intelligence testified before congress in an often combative session. Mr. Mcguire says the whistleblower did the right thing coming forward and called the situation unprecedented. More than a dozen progressive groups demanded every member of congress support the impeachment inquiry. I think its important first of all to move on and these ede in washington, d. C. Getting the message out in terms of the ess of this administration a accused President Trump of using the power of his office to pressure ukrainian president during a july phone call asking him to investigate former vp joe biden and his son for political gain in the 2020 election. Now, in a strange twist to the impeachment hearing, a Silicon Valley tech Company Finds itself in the spotlight after being called out by President Trump. Crowd strike was mentioned in that phone call between President Trump and the ukrainian president. That call has the Tech Industry talking. Reporter this is likely the only time most people heard of the Cyber Security firm crowdstrike. Their recent ipo celebration both at the nasdaq and inside its bay area head quarters. But this weeks notes about the call between President Trump and the president ompan during the call, notes showed President Trump making a reference to the Sunnyvale Company saying, quote, i would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with ukraine. They say crowdstrike. I guess you have one of your wealthy people, the server, they say ukraine has it. The only reaction i have is that in 2016 we actually performed the dnc investigation. We worked closely with the fbi, turned over the forensic data. Thats the ceo speaking on bloomberg tv about what its like to be called out by the president. His firm was hired by the democrats back in 2016 to figure out who hacked the Democratic National committees servers. I think a lot of what weve done has already been said. And after that, you know, i cant necessarily i dont understand where we are with things. Reporter crowdstrike determined the server wrussia, s later in the mueller report. Were very cognizant about our position there. Reporter he says its common for Silicon ValleyTech Companies to work for government agencies, but the most important part of that relationship, he says, is trust. All right. Scott joins us now. Lets see if we can wrap our heads around this. When the president made that phone call with ukraine and said crowd strike was involved, it seemed like he was implying their information that it was the russians who were involved wasnt accurate or truthful. Right. That goes to a couple of points even in that conversation jessica and raj. At one point President Trump intimated that it should have been the fbi looking into the democratic server and not an outside server like crowdstrike. Also in his statement when he said someone with money implying almost someone from ukraine had invested in crowdstrike. That was easy to bat down. For a publicly traded company, all that information is public. Cro crowdstrikes vendors are all american based. This could be damaging to that company but theyre okay for now. They are for now because unin of the damage is sticking. The ceo says we dont even know whats going on entirely. And as of this afternoon they clamped down and said we have to ride this out. Thank you scott. Well, Crime Fighting is getting a digital update in the south bay. The San Jose Police department is partnering with the Home Security company ring to download videos from homeowners in real time. Right now detectives have to go door to door looking for that video which costs them valuable time. Homeowners with ring cameras need to download the neighbors by ring app. After a crime, police would send a text to owners in that area asking them to upload the Surveillance Video. Time is of the essence. Its not to say detectives wouldnt go out and do the same thing. The goal is expand to other cameras in the future. A crime caught on camera and a victim fighting back. Jodi hernandez joins us where there are mixed reactions to what the man who got victimized did. Police tell you not to try to intervene, to let them do it. Reporter thats what they always say, jessica. The attack happened right here in this parking lot as the victim walked out of this mexican restaurantafternoon. It also happened right in front of all of these surveillance cameras. As you mentioned, police are always saying its dangerous to confront a suspect if you dont have to. But the victims actions coupled with the Surveillance Video led to arrest. Thats our suspect vehicle right there. Reporter detective scott griggs shows us the Surveillance Video that captured two robbery suspects in action. Police say after the pair scouted the oak plaza parking lot for a victim one of the suspects yanked a gold chain off a mans neck as he walked out of a restaurant. He grabs the chain from this guy right here. Reporter but what happened next likely caught the suspect by surprise. The victim and his cousin chased after the man, going back and forth and round and round through the parking lot. They ran around the parking lot for several minutes. He was trying to lose them and couldnt. Reporter the suspect finally jumped into a get away car driven by the suspects girlfriend. The victims got a great description including a partial the couples arrest in antioch about 15 minutes later. Sounds like the guys who did it got what coming to them. Caught the little suckers. Now theyve got time to to think. Reporter while police warn chasing after a suspect is a risky thing to do, many say they are glad the victims didnt back down. They say criminals should think twice. You better be ready because we arent afraid to stand up and come after you. No ones taking anything. Go ahead and try to take my purse. Dont come near me. I will pepper spray you. Did you ever speak to the president about this complaint . Myecau im the director of National Intelligence, are privileged. The whistleblower accuses President Trump of using the power oof his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 election. It happened in a july phone call with ukraines president asking him to investigate democratic rival joe biden and his son. Its a disgrace to our country. My call was perfect. The president yesterday of ukraine said there was no pressure put on him whatsoever. But the complaint says the truck administration tried to lockdown details of that call by moving it to a high security server. This is a cover up. Mcguire addressed why he took the complaint to the white house first instead of congress. I was endeavoring to get the executive privilege concerns addressed. The white house did not did not direct me to withhold the information. President trump said he had nothing to hide and republicans called the hearinghe whistleblower was not on the phone call was received the information from other u. S. Officials. I was told that and i learned from multiple u. S. Officials that in other words, all of this is secondhand information. Whos the person the president gave the whistleblower the information. Power is restored in the north bay news. This is video from stores and businesses left without power yesterday. Nearly 50,000 customers had power shut off yesterday in the north bay and the sierra foothills all for pg es fire prevention. This is a fire pg e did not cause. But weve uncovered new photos that shows pg e is to blame. Heres jackson van derbeken. Reporter talk a close look at these never before broadcast photos. Those boillike marks are on high voltage lines roughly 100 yards away from the private hilltop electrical system that cal fire says started the tubs fire. We took the image to ken bus ki who spent four decades analyzing fires started by electricity. Ive done about 1,700 fires and us he believes the fire leaves little question about where this fire began. This is where the fire started. Reporter or what caused it. Theres a bright flash, electric flow like lightning between the portion of the wire, the top wire, and vegetation. And theres a similar event with the other wire. Reporter the boillike marks are created when the power lines are hit with electricity. That creates a flash and potentially sparking a fire. You may remember just weeks ago we brought you this Surveillance Video showing what experts say was the flash near the origin of the tubs fire. Minutes after that flash, flames tear across the country side. Cal fire never explained that flash and the agencys final report never mentions the kind of marks shown in the photos. Thats important because we learned those photos wereen the. All that leads buske to a blunt conclusion. The fire report is wrong. Reporter we reached out to cal fire and pg e about d stand their report. Pg e ceo bill johnson believes cal fire got it right. You know, there were 21 fires. Cal fire said pg e caused 20 of them. And didnt cause the other one. And so i think we should have a little confidence in their ability to determine things. Reporter but state senator jerry hill isnt so sure, especially since cal fire seems unwilling to look at any evidence that cast doubt on its findings. Its outrageous that they dug in theireporter he says cal pointing the finger and then refusing to reconsider. Were going to push them on it. Were going to get a letter people, dont hold the right people accountable and responsible for this, thats noe should just start from scratch. Theres a big problem. This is the biggest problem ive seen. The tubbes fire isnt somebodys burned chicken coup. A lot of people suffered a lot into this fire and they deserved a good fire report.
