Nbc news obtained this letter sent to Police Chiefs around the state, saying overcrowded beaches was in violation of the shelter in place order. The letter intends to give jurisdictions the headsup and time to plan. Heres what the governor said monday. Those images are an example of what not to see, people what not to do. Well, here with the latest numbers, the bay area announcing around 115 new cases today. That puts our total at 7,900. 20 of those cases are in contra costa county, which now has 862 reported cases overall. Santa clara county announced 25 new cases. And has a total of 2,100 cases overall. Governor newsom saying today the data is guiding his decisions. And heres the latest data from Santa Clara County. Were flattening the curve. You can see the total reported cases increased significantly from march through early april, but then on the right side of your screen there mid april the cases have slowly increased and almost flattened at around 2,000 cases. Heres another look. This time at new cases. A lot of spikes until mid april. Now generally the amount of new cases each day is tapering off. Another important point, dr. Sarah cody says that even though cases early on, Santa Clara County has less than 5 of the total cases reported in the entire state. Lets take a live look in San Francisco now.
