New overnight San Mateo County deputies are revealing details about the shooting of a woman they say shot at them with a rifle on main street in half moon bay. She later died from her injuries. It happened south of the downtown area. They say the woman was impaired and refused orders to drop the gun. She is said to be white and in her 30s or 40s, but she has not been identified. California is seeing its first drop in weekly deaths since the outbreak began according to numbers from the l. A. Times. Deaths last week fell nearly 10 statewide from 542 to 495. The governor is call it a big mistake saying it puts the public at risk. Hes not saying the same thing about modoc county. It is remote and a population under 9,000. New numbers are illustrating how dire the situation is in california right now. Governor newsom says the state has dispersed more than 10 billion in Unemployment Insurance since march 15 including 450,000 people who are selfemployed. In concord were supposed to be at 74 but looking at high temperatures up to 82. We are normally seeing high temperatures at this time in may in the low 70s. You can see how that compares today as napa reaches up to 85 degrees, san jose will reach 82. As we go into the end of the week this intense area of High Pressure causing extreme heat including Southern California and for us were going to also get some warmer weather.
