Well, lets turn things over to our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri as we kick of week 15 of our shelter at home with the warm week and the holiday week coming up next week, jeff. Yeah t is going to be warm as we head throughout this week. So we do want to say, you know, things are so extremely dry out there. Another reason of course why these fireworks are just such a bad idea as we have started to slide into a drought. Lets go ahead and talk about the heat and also the dry conditions were seeing at least here in the bay area. And youll be able to see its all about this area of hot High Pressure helping to bring in that warm air from the south. Then we also have this other system out here in the pacific. If you notice it was a little bit humid today, thats because of this pulling in some air from the south and that humidity. Tomorrow i definitely think its going to be hot again and a little bit of humidity. Even some fog right there at the coastline. As we start off tomorrow morning, you can see those low clouds up into the north bay. Some of that cloud cover here throughout San Francisco and the bay, then right on down the coastline. As we roll through the afternoon, everybody gets sunshine, but then at the coastline well be left with some of that cloud cover there for the beaches. And notice over the sierra, about a quarter to a half inch of rainfall expected tomorrow. So the forecast as we start off, as you get closer to the coast, again remember those low clouds will be there. 66 in the peninsula. A mild 70 in the trivalley. Also starting it off with 70 in the east bay. San francisco, some fog and 63. The north bay at 65. Temperatures really dont adjust too much for tomorrow. Youll see down here in the south bay, ive put it at 89 in downtown san jose. Los gatos at 91. Then in gilroy, not quite as hot. Youve got 88, thats because a little bit of that ocean breeze is going to move in from the south. So gilroy usually one of our hottest locations but not tomorrow. Over to the east bay, 93 in pittsburg. 91 in pleasanton. Close to the bay you have 70s in oakland and also in hayward. Lets bring you over to the peninsula. 83 in redwood city. There you go. We drop to the 60s in daly city. Right here through San Francisco. Across the north bay, 88 in napa. 83 in santa rosa. One spot that will not have the ocean breeze is clearlake, a hot 100. The only thing i think that could be bothering you tomorrow is the pollen. Grass and pine in the moderate categories. Allergies definitely could be bugging you. San franciscos forecast, warms up into the 70s wednesday, thursday, and friday. Well cool it off by sunday, and that wind increases. Youll see for the inland valleys were going to 92 tomorrow. Low 90s into friday. Down to 83 on sunday and wind gusts out of the west, 20 to 40 miles per hour. So that wind not going to be good for fire danger. But, raj, it should be said the westerly wind is a cooler wind, so its not going to be as dry and hot as an easterly, we call those fire winds, diablo winds. So the good news, its coming out of the west, which is cooler, but well continue to monitor that as we get closer. Well had a lot of those problems the last few years. Thank you, jeff. We asked San Franciscobased microbiologist Jessica Malaty rivera, a member of the covid tracking project. One of the reasons why were so concerned about some hot spots in the country is because of how quickly and easily people move. So to answer your question, i would be concerned unless people were really strict about quarantining before they left anywhere, making sure that wherever they go that theyre still practicing physical distancing, wearing their masks, and making sure when they return, theyre also isolating again for another 14 days. In short, its not recommended unless you can follow those strict precautions. Were back in a moment. Stay with us. Heres what we want everyone to do. Count all the hugs you havent given.
