They have real power to edit and reject anything this organization puts out as well as invest thoughtfulness and sensitivity in the team and everything we do going forward. Thoughtfulness and sensitivity in what we do. If we all have sensitivity from the ground up, none of these mistakes happen. Nothing happens, right . And the reason is we need sensitivity all the way through an organization. However, some voters may still receive mailers with some of those questionable images because they were sent out by mail earlier. City leaders came together, unveiling several banners around city hall in a way to show support for the movement and lift the voices within the black community. And within the city of san jose. The founder of the youth hype says those banners represent more than just public art. Its really about our Community Coming together and saying hey, were taking a stand and saying black lives matter here in san jose, that our black Community Members matter and that were going to do everything we can to protect and empower and uplift them. San jose mayor also spoke, saying now is the time to move forward as a community through action and encouraging people to vote in the upcoming election. An attacker armed with a knife killed three people and injured several others at a church today in the medici mediterranean city of nice. France is mobilizing thousands of soldiers, boosting protects for schools and places of worship. Police are also now confirming that they shot that suspect in the attack. With that context, we can look at what we learned today and gdp grew 7. 4 in the third quarter. That is excellent news. Economists would also say it grew 33 in an annualized rate. And President Trump, who is running on his economic record, was quick to point out that second number is the biggest number in history. Now, it does follow the previous quarters record as the biggest quarter fall. And they do not match the loss last quarter. 751,000 americans applied for jobless benefits for the first time last week, about twice the normal rate before the pandemic, but its also the second week inny a row that number came in under 800,000. We know of at least a few districts and schools who will not be returning to oncampus instruction for High School Middle school until next year at the earliest. Check your local school and school district. Within the past 24 hours, Alameda County Health Services agency gave the allclear for middle and high schools to reopen on november 9th, as long as they come up with a covid19 health and safety plan ahead of time. Moms, dads, guardians are aware of the precautions taken for their students. A number of districts have done this in anticipation of reopening their campuses. As the Health Department has indicated, when they choose to reopen is up to each school and school district. The Health Department recognizes some schools may not have the resources to reopen right away. Middle and High School Students in berkeley wont report to campus until january at the earliest. A number of districts have yet to reopen their Elementary School campuses and wont do that until january 2021 at the earliest. Again, youll have to check with your local district to see if and when your student might return. Alameda county entered the orange tier of reopening, the second resistant tier. S. Government agencies that cyber criminals could be targeting them. There are reports that at least four hospitals have already been compromised in recent days with some experts now saying these could be the most dangerous Cyber Attacks ever to hit the u. S. Here is nbcs tom costello. Reporter this morning, hospitals, already battling the coronavirus, are facing a new threat. Three government agencies, including the fbi, are warning they have credible information of an increased and imminent cyber crime threat. Health care providers and hospitals here in the u. S. Cyber criminals are using ransomware, a tool that in this case could block hospitals from accessing their own data and freeze critical operating systems until a ransom is paid. This ransomware is almost impossible to stop, because all it takes is for one employee to click on a malicious link, and that injects the malware into the system, and theyve locked up the data. Reporter overnight sky lakes confirmed a Ransomware Attack compromised its systems though it says no patient information has been compromised. In three different states hospitals have reported issues just this week. Its not clear if its connected to the latest warning. Universal Health Services, major computer failure with hospitals forced to use pen and paper to file patient information. The company says the issue is now resolved. And in germany, a womans death now being blamed on a Ransomware Attack when the hospital where she sought emergency treatment could not admit her due to its i. T. Systems failing. This threat is literally life and death scenario. Reporter Cyber Security experts say the pandemic, along with an emerging flu season, put hospitals in a uniquely vulnerable position. This is a perfect storm hitting the hospitals. And theres actually never been a better time if youre a ransomware syndicate and want a fast payout, this would be the time to strike. Were at 64 degrees in walnut creek as we look at what to expect the rest of the afternoon. Its going to go into the upper 70s for today. Well see that High Temperature right there at about 3 00 to 4 00 today. Lets head to the south bay. Were going to see a High Temperature of 80 degrees in downtown san jose. Were still looking at 80s for the south county. This is a little bit warmer than where we should be feeling for the end of october with walnut creek reaching 80 degrees, oakland a high of 76 and mid 60s for the coastline, mid 70s for san mateo. Reaching as warm as 73 degrees in our Mission District and north bay highs in santa rosa, napa staying mostly in the 70s. Well see some nice weather for today. But a lot of changes ahead for the regional look. But for us, were just in with this High Pressure thats going to keep us in a quiet weather pattern. Just some slightly warmer than normal temperatures. It may not be until the end of next week when we see a change with cooler temperatures. I wanted to show you the drought outlook updated this morning. You can see all of this bright red and even dark red, indicating extreme Drought Conditions across the region. Here in california, we have a lot of drought in northern california, but actually Southern California is doing pretty good especially near l. A. As you make your way toward the central coast, we start to see those drier conditions. Were seeing this also possibly giving us more of that very dry vegetation and those warm temperatures weve seen.
