Its a significant win, if you take a look at it people often cite the fact that Hillary Clinton won 3 million more in the popular vote than President Trump did. People across the bay area plan for thanksgiving. We are hearing the cdc may be ready to cut down the recommended 14day selfquarantine with the u. S. Seeing its highest death rates in months since the pandemic started. 12. 5 million confirmed cases. California is seeing some record numbers. Yesterday the state confirmed 15,000 new cases with hospitalizations up more than 80 over the past two weeks. At the same time the cdc is finalizing its plans to shorten the 14day quarantine for possible exposure. It may become ten days or even a week in part due to better testing and that symptoms come on within four to five days of exposure. The total to 45 counties but nothing has changed in the bay area. San francisco, san mateo and marin are still in the red tier. San Francisco Health leaders are anticipating a move into the purple tier and may reach that threshold by sunday. A slide into the most restrictive tier would mean more rollbacks. That would mean sf restaurants would have to shut down their Outdoor Dining at 10 00 p. M. For so many families making it in the bay, its really hitting home as we approach tomorrows thanksgiving holiday. We can see some people lined up waiting for the 8 30 distribution, an emergency distribution. The Alameda County food bank has opened up 28 new Distribution Sites since the pandemic began. The San Francisco Marin Food Bank almost twice as many as a year ago. To give you a sense of the impact covid19 has had on people many who are now relying on these food banks lost their job in the shelter in place order. Its full of the gear a crossing guard would use. And this was just about a week after the schools closed. This is a crossing guard who no longer has a job. Those retailers are continuing to push Online Shopping marking the start of the shopping season could be behind this. Theyre going to start to pick up today and it will be slightly cooler as we see the high winds up to about 20 to 25 Miles Per Hour near the coastline.
