Star of good one a show about jokes, comedian, Mike Birbiglia. An all new closer look. Featuring the 8g band with fred armisen. [ cheers and applause ] and now, seth meyers. Seth good evening, im seth meyers. This is late night. We hope youre doing well. And now, if you dont mind, were going to get to the news. While speaking yesterday about his efforts to Lower Health Care costs with vermont senator, bernie sanders, President Biden said, quote, bernie and i have been doing this work a long time. I know we dont look like it. And boy did they have a good laugh about that. [ laughter ] in an interview yesterday, republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor greene criticized house speaker, Mike Johnsons proposal for ukraine aid and said, quote, we dont know who mike johnson is anymore. Well, i guess im a trendsetter, because i never knew who mike johnson was [ laughter ] in the first place. Hedge fund billionaire, john paulson is set to host a fundraiser on saturday in palm beach for former President Trump, which will feature former first lady, melania trump. Oh, nice. That will give these two some time to catch up. Mel, you look great. Have you been working out . [ laughter ] ahead of this weekends trump fundraiser in palm beach, organizers are offering attendees the opportunity to sit at former President Trumps table during dinner if they donate more than 824,000. And while its a lot of money, its still erics only chance. [ laughter ] former President Trump posted on truth social and bragged about the platforms success. And it immediately went viral. [ laughter ] a florida man was recently charged with reckless driving after he allegedly put his car in Cruise Control and stood up through the vehicles sun roof. Oh, come on, its florida. Im surprised they dont have a lane for that. [ laughter ] a woman who was rock climbing with her cat in colorado was recently rescued after they got stuck on a mountain. Okay, well after she got stuck on a mountain. [ light laughter ] cat was like, you mind if i go . I can get off a mountain. [ laughter ] in honor of National Burrito day, the restaurant chain qdoba is offering customers a free burrito with the purchase of an entree and a drink. Ah, yes. Mexico may have invented the burrito, but it was america that made it a side dish. [ light laughter ] according to new research, brown rats arrived in north america in 1740, or about 40 years earlier than previously believed. This week on a very special finding your roots. [ laughter ] and finally, according to new data, crime in new yorks subway station decreased by 23 compared to last year, because even criminals have places theyve got to be. [ laughter ] and that was the monologue, everybody. We are off and running. [ cheers and applause ] weve got a great one for you tonight. She is one of the alltime greatest snl cast members, and this weekend shes going to be back hosting for the fifth time. Kristen wiig is here, everybody. [ cheers and applause ] how about that. And hes a fantastic comedian, actor, and director you know from trainwreck, sleepwalk with me, the old man in the pool, and so many others. Hes the subject of the documentary speical good one a show about jokes, streaming now on peacock. My very good friend Mike Birbiglia is also joining us. [ cheers and applause ] but before we get to all of that, Donald Trumps net worth plunged by more than 1 billion after the stock price of his struggling social Media Company fell by more than 20 amid huge losses and a legal battle between trump and his cofounders, and now investors are betting millions the company will collapse. For more on this its time for a closer look. [ applause ] seth president s from both parties love to brag about the success of the stock market. In fact, trump cares so much about the stock markets performance, hes tried to claim credit for its success after he left office. But even his biggest boosters like fox host, Maria Bartiromo arent buying it. The biden team can say, well, if things are so bad, how come the stock markets on a roll . Because they think im going to be elected. You think the stock markets rallying because people think youre going to be elected . I do, yeah. Seth even Maria Bartiromo doesnt believe it. Look at her face. Shes so shocked, she turned into rudy. [ laughter ] by the way, if you invested 20 in us using the rudy eyes graphic five years ago, youd a millionaire right now. Thats the face you make when a buddy tells you the mets are going to win it all this year. You think the mets are going to win the world series . I do, they started 0 on 05 on purpose to lull the rest of the league into a false sense of security, and then when everyones guards down, they pounce, and they just lost again, oh [ bleep ]. Its all part of the plan. [ bleep ]. All president s do this. Trump just takes it to absurd extremes as he always does. But the stock market is not the real economy. For one thing, the wealthiest 10 of americans own 93 of the stocks, although you dont need a study to tell you that. Just go to any manhattan dinner party. I cant tell you the number of times ive sat next to someone talking to me about margin calls and options trading and i dont know what the [ bleep ] any of those terms mean. [ light laughter ] which is why whenever i get invited to a dinner party now, i always rsvp with a note that says, please sit me next to your dumbest guest. [ laughter ] oh, and theres my nametag. Oh, hello, mr. Mayor. [ laughter ] are you going to eat your roll . If not, im going to take it home in my pocket. The stock market does not fully reflect the Underlying Health of the economy. And theres no better current example of that than trump media and technology group. The Parent Company of trumps tiny and struggling twitter ripoff, truth social. When the company went public last week, it soared to shocking highs despite the fact that it has lost money and users, which in turn, massively inflated trumps net worth on paper. More breaking news tonight involving donald trump. His Media Company, which of course includes truth social, soaring on its first day of trading on nasdaq, surging 56 at one point during trading to 78 a share before closing at 58. Trump now owns 60 of the new trump Media Company, or roughly 78 million a share. A stake that is on paper at this hour worth 4. 6 billion. The higher the stock goes, the higher that Donald Trumps net worth is. At yesterdays close, trumps net worth, according to bloomberg, a little over 7 billion. It went up by 4 billion on monday alone. Seth thats right. Trumps net worth went up by 4 billion in one day. Heres actual footage of me waking up to that news. He cant keep getting away with this [ laughter ] seth now, to be clear, thats only on paper. Those are unrealized gains. Donald trump cant spend or borrow against any of that money yet. Although you know donald trump doesnt see it that way. When trump heard that his net worth increased by 4 billion, he immediately ran out, bought a ferrari, a Scrooge Mcduck money pool, and a beautiful new head of hair. The only the only way trump would admit the money wasnt real is if rudy asked trump to pay his outstanding legal bills. I made 4 bil this week, baby. Thats great, boss. Now can you finally pay me . Actually, rudy, thats just on paper. Those are those are all unrealized gains that i legally cannot spend or borrow against until the sixmonth lockup period has expired or until the board votes to allow me to cash out. Im heartbroken, rudy. I really am. Oh, ill be fine, boss, seth meyers gave me his dinner roll. [ laughter ] again, this is all paper money so far. Its not real yet. Just as easily as trumps net worth went up, it can come crashing back down, which is partially what happened on monday when the stock price fell. Truth social hit the nasdaq last week with a bang, but now its taking blows. The stock, which is listed as djt, lost roughly 4 billion in value in its first week of trading. The companys stock fell more than 20 , and Donald Trumps net worth fell more than 1 billion. Seth thats right. His net worth fell by 1 billion in one day. He basically lost the entirety of taylor swifts net worth. And by the way, she got that money. Thats not theoretical. Thats she can buy private jets with her debit card. [ laughter ] and she made that money from writing and performing, not from slapping her name on a moneylosing twitter ripoff. Although she could definitely do that. Id be the first in line to sign up for a new social media app called taytok, id do that. [ laughter ] i would do that. So why . Why did the stock suddenly start to tank . Well, reality probably caught up with it. The companys value was completely divorced from its underlying business. So heres the latest numbers that are concerning investors. Truth social owner, trump media lost 58 million last year, and it generated very, very little revenue. Just 4. 1 million in revenue. And some of this is not shocking because we know that truth social is struggling. I mean, it is shrinking. Monthly active u. S. Users on ios and android down 51 year over year. I think all of this just underscores why theres a lot of warnings out there about this stock. Right . One professor told me its a bubble. Another basically called it a meme stock. Seth theres no way trump knows what a meme stock is. He probably doesnt even know the word meme. I own it, it has my name in it, its a meme stock. [ laughter ] so the company lost 58 million and more than half of its users. And yet, when it went public, it was first valued at over 7 billion. Im sure youre asking, how is that possible . Well theres an actually, perfectly reasonable explanation but it involves a lot of complex financial jargon and some very technical obscure macroeconomic principles that will take me a long time to explain. So just do your best to follow along. Ready . The stock market is bull [ bleep ]. [ laughter ] [ cheers and applause ] by calling it a meme stock, experts are basically comparing the trump stock to gamestop, a stock whose price gets inflated beyond its underlying value by online investors, but in the case of gamestop, there was at least, an actual business. Heres how one commentator on the infamous wall street bets subreddit explained the situation. If you invest in this on a long enough timeline, you will lose everything. If you think donald trump is going to create an incomepositive social media platform, you are an absolute [ bleep ] moron. [ light laughter ] now, in fairness, thats not just some dudes opinion. Hes quoting the company slogan. [ laughter ] agree or disagree, youve got to love the harsh wisdom of reddit investors. Reporters and Financial Experts in the Mainstream Media are all carefully parsing their words and saying stuff, like the fundamentals of the business do not support the current market capitalization of the publicly traded securities. If the dudes at reddit ran cnn, the headline would say, this [ bleep ] is worthless mother [ bleep ]. [ laughter ] and heres the real tell that everyone knows trumps stock is actually worthless. Investors are betting against it. The New York Times reported this week, that traders are betting millions that trump media will tumble. In fact, the Parent Company of truth social is a popular target for short sellers. Short sellers bet that the price of a stock will fall. They do it by borrowing shares of a company and selling them into the market, hoping to buy them back later at a lower price before returning the shares to the lender and pocketing the difference as profit. Again, theres no way trump understands any of that. I guarantee when trumps aides told him investors are shorting his stock, he thought they meant that short people were buying his stock. Look, i dont like the man but ill gladly take an investment from ron desantis. He can keep his earnings and his little white boots, we love the little white boots. [ laughter ] and yet as if trump stock needed any more reasons to go down in flames, on top of everything else, it is now the subject of a contentious legal battle in which trump is basically trying to kick out the cofounders of the company so he can keep the stock all to himself. The former president is suing the cofounders of truth social in an effort to prevent them from keeping shares in the companys stock. The former president s attorneys claim that Andy Litinsky and wes moss made a series of costly mistakes that delayed the company from going public. Trumps legal team asked the judge to strip both men of their shares in the company. This after litinsky and moss filed a lawsuit in february, claiming that trump and other leaders schemed to dilute their shares prior to a merger, which would allow the company to then go public. Seth my god, how many Court Battles can one person have . This guy is in court more than this lady. [ laughter ] heres what happened. These guys essentially brought the deal to trump. They took the company public. And in the process, they basically dumped a few billion in paper money into his lap, and trump is now thanking them by suing to take their stock away. Dude, just take the [ bleep ] w, your companys worthless. This is Like Alaska Airlines suing the passenger who set next to the open door. [ laughter ] you should be thanking us for the extra leg room the stock market is a casino, its not the real economy. Trumps dumb. His social Media Company is just the latest example of that. Now investors are betting millions that the stock will collapse. Its kind of like that scene from the social network. Except in this case, the only thing cooler than trump losing a Million Dollars is losing a billion dollars. Seth this has been a closer look. [ cheers and applause ] well be right back with kristen wiig, everybody [ cheers and applause ] whats the worst part of the locker room . Shareef axe. Axe. Brandon i like that. Shareef reminds me of like a designer store. Brandon this smells like a candle. Shareef is this a joke . You chose axe brandon i knew i had good taste shareef i thought that was a designer brand. Thank you, fred, for being back with us. [ cheers and applause ] and fred, i know you to be an incredible artist, and also an incredible friend. And therefore, its no surprise that you are a great collaborator. You are always working with other people on projects . Fred i am. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] and this is really cool. Our first guest, kristen wiig, is a dear friend of both of us. But you and her are opening a new museum . Fred we are. [ laughter ] weve got this new museum. Its of crutches. Its a crutches museum. Seth okay. Fred and what were going to have is like were going to have actors there, like you know, with crutches. So you see how they worked. Seth okay, so you didnt just want to have the crutches on the wall, you wanted to have actors showing people . Fred yeah, just so this way its more interactive. And you can ask, what happened to you . And then they go well, i had a skiing accident, or whatever. So each story changes from seth thats great, because i would have assumed a crutches museum would have been about the crutches. But it seems like its about the backstory of the person who needs the crutches . [ laughter ] fred to a degree, yes. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] how many actors are working at any given time . Fred 26. Seth whoa. [ laughter ] fred yeah. Seth so exactly 26 . Fred yes. Seth and what is can you tell me about an interesting crutch throughout history that maybe we dont know about . Fred yes, in 1952 in the olympics, one of the journalists got in the way of one of the skiers and sort of sprained his ankle. And so so he had some crutches for a little while. Seth wow. Fred yeah. [ laughter ] seth well, how does a journalist get in the way of a fred i know. [ laughter ] move seth give it up for fred, everybody [ cheers and applause ] our first guest tonight is an emmy and oscarnominated actress, writer, and comedian you know from bridesmaids and saturday night live, which she returns to host this weekend with musical guest raye. She also stars in palm royale which is streaming now on apple tv plus. Shes also one of the cofounders of the crutches museum. [ laughter ] please welcome back to the show our friend kristen wiig, everybody [ cheers and applause ] seth hello, there. Hello seth its so nice to have you back in the building. I love being back in the building. Seth and so nice to be here at the same time with you and fred. Its like bringing you back. Bringing us back, were together, before our big venture. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] you seem maybe less excited about the crutches museum. Im excited about it. Seth okay. It was kind of my idea. Seth oh, it was . [ laughter ] yes. Seth thats great. And fred is fred, yes ands ideas. If you have an idea for a crutches museum, hes the right guy to talk to. Because theres so many different kinds of crutches. I dont think people know like the different types. Seth yeah. And like different regions and like yeah, so its seth so its interesting. I asked fred to name an interesting type of crutch, instead he told me a story about how somebody got hurt. [ laughter ] and needed crutches. Im wondering not to put you on the spot, but what is an interesting kind of crutch people dont know about . I think people underestimate the padding that goes under your arms. Sure. Because thats really the crutch. Seth yeah. [ laughter ] fred, im assuming that piece has a name . Fred the under . The underarm crutch, crescent. [ laughter ] seth really good. Really exciting. Hes right. Were going to sell out. Fred sell out. Seth this is very exciting. This is your fifth time hosting snl. Yes, yes. Thank you. [ cheers and applause ] seth i being on the show gets a little easier, but only a little. I mean yeah, yeah, yeah. Seth over the course of the years. Yes. Seth it never gets easy. Do you find hosting gotten a little bit easier . No. [ laughter ] seth i think thats good. I think because the essence of the show is that you dont know what it is ever. Even until 11 30. Theres just you dont know. Seth yeah. Yeah, that never goes away. Seth so you but its easier than seth its easier, but i always said when i was at the show, the hosts who werent nervous were the ones about to lay a real turd. Yeah. [ laughter ] i would just say, i feel like thats just the energy of the show. Like youre supposed to be nervous, i think. Seth yes. So you were not, even leading into this week, im assuming you were not sleeping well . No. Seth yeah. No, i was up till just just writing things in my head, just you know. Your brain goes. Seth i do think its very exciting any time someone hosts the show who is also good at writing for the show, which you were also a terrific writer. Thank you very much. Thank you. [ cheers and applause ] seth and you not only hosted, youve also come back when some of our loved ones have hosted. Yes. Seth you did an abba sketch recently. Yes. Seth when kate was there, you and maya came back. [ laughter ] i love the picture of me laughing. Seth yeah. Being so unprofessional. Seth by the way, you did not pull it together by the next shot. [ laughter ] look what im looking at . Yeah. Would you be able to keep it together . I mean seth did you have someone in our time of the show who made you more susceptible to breaking than others . I mean, fred made me laugh. Seth yeah. Quite a bit. And i feel like forte probably. Seth yep. You just never knew when the explosion was going to happen. [ laughter ] yes. Seth i you and forte are in one of my Favorite Movie scenes of alltime, which is the love scene in macgruber. Yes. The love the love scene. Seth the love scene in macgruber. [ laughter ] i remember i was in albuquerque, new mexico, that day. And it was maybe 1,000 degrees. It was so hot. And it was my birthday. I dont know if you know that. Seth i dont know, happy birthday, yeah. And kind of gross. But the amount of sweat that can pool in someones chest above you, and then just release on you. [ laughter ] we were just soaking wet. Seth yeah. I mean, it was so hot. We couldnt have the air conditioning on because of sound. Seth yeah. We were in albuquerque. It was august, i think. Seth it was august. My birthday, yeah, august. It was really seth its funny, because when i see the scene, i feel like its beautiful . Seth no. But it was there was like there was a glistening that i bet on a regular sort of movie thats all makeup. Seth they work really hard for, right. People are like, how did they do that . Im like, it was hot as balls. We were upstairs there was like everything that could make something hot. Seth do you feel like you were the kind of person who, while you were breaking, you would try to fight through it and that would just make it worse . Yes. Seth yeah. Yes. Because as soon as you start, the person youre looking at knows youre breaking, then they start to break, then you start laughing, and its very difficult. I try not to do it. Seth youre very good at not doing it, which i think makes it more rewarding when you do. Yeah. [ laughter ] seth ive always said, like, i when people say, do you miss snl . I always say, i very much miss being the age that i was at snl. Because it is a very taxing week. Youre now doing it with the twins are four years old now . Yes, yes. Seth and do you feel like you still have the energy for it . Um i mean yes . Because when you get into host mode, youre nervous and running around. But yeah. I need my sleep. I cant. Seth yeah. Like we we sound so old. We were young seth i know, its crazy. But we were. We would stay up until 5 00, 6 00 in the morning working on stuff and it was like no big deal. Seth i also sometimes we both still write. And sometimes in my head, i think i still have that, those muscles. Itll be like, you know what . I know that things due tomorrow, im just going to pull an allnighter. And literally at 10 30 im like, or im going to go to bed and tell them its not coming. Yes. [ laughter ] seth tell them i didnt do it and im going to give them the money back. Im older. Im older. Seth we did talk about im lucky enough to know your beautiful children. And last time you were here, which was awhile ago, we talked they were little babies, and youd put wigs on them. Yeah. Seth have they outgrown or have you out grown putting wigs on them . No, no, no, its the best. [ laughter ] seth do they love your wig time with you. [ light laughter ] we have a basket of wigs in their playroom. So ill justing sitting at the table, and its like theyll just come in wearing a wig, just playing with something. And to me, thats the funniest thing ever, theyre wearing a wig. They walk around, its like, you are my children. Seth thats your dream. Thats my dream. Seth if you said, pick out Kristen Wiigs children, id be like, those two those two that are in the wig, yes. Seth also like to be in wigs and not be playing it as a joke, thats really a kristen wiig character. And theyre adult wigs. [ laughter ] so theyre like too big. And yes, theres way too much hair. Seth theyre all very low bangs. I want to talk to you about palm royale. Well be back with more kristen after this. But you still get a little bit nervous the first day Carol Burnett shows up on set . Oh, yeah. Yeah. I was like did she like, did she like, did she think that was funny . [ laughter ] because its like you know, its like i said, its Carol Burnett. And yeah, shes but shes so generous and makes you feel super comfortable. And shes just shes the best. I was talking to fred backstage about i enjoy having you on because i could grill you and ask you questions. Cause usually its just you asking me. Seth right. And i just noticed some quirks about you. Seth oh. I dont do impressions. But i was asking fred what his impression is of you. Seth of me . Well, heres my mine of you is simple. [ laughter and applause ] buddy buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy buddy, buddy because i heard you the first time seth i mean, its like looking in a mirror. [ light laughter ] i want to say, because i did enjoy talking to you on your podcast. And you said something very complimentary about me, which does kind of tie into how i leave. One of the reasons i just disappear in a puff of smoke, you said this about me, i have an incredibly good sense of timing. Youre absurdly punctual. Seth yeah. To the point where it would be over the years, weve had lunch a handful of times, and youll it will be noon, well have lunch, and on the minute of 60 minutes, youll be like, buddy buddy buddy buddy and then youre gone. [ light laughter ] and its like a puff of smoke. Youre like a superhero with no skills. You know what, im glad you said im glad you said punctual. Sometimes i feel like punctual, everybody is over theyre putting too much in the inpoint. Theres also an outpoint for punctuality. Like, you dont have to worry youre going to over youre going to be, sorry, i was late for the next thing because of seth. No, hour, boom, were done. You i appreciate it. Seth yeah. I appreciate it. Seth thank you. I can tell you do. Because of the way youre saying it. [ laughter ] you know, i you know what . Seth you know what . You know what . Okay. So this is all love. Seth sure. Its all love. No, but it was no, it was so fun to have you on the podcast. But then literally on the podcast, we talked about how at the hour mark, in a puff of smoke youre gone. And then at the end of the interview, its like 75 minutes, and you were completely gone. Seth yeah. And the other day we were on the today show. Seth we did the today show together. Together as a like a the comedy buy duo that nobody asked for. [ light laughter ] and it was hoda and jenna who are hilarious. And they we did this game with alison brie. Seth yes. She was also involved. And the gist of it was, everyone comes up with an embarrassing like factoid about themself. And then hoda and jenna guess who it is. Seth right. Mine was, i created a a rap song about not using drugs for the d. A. R. E. Program in sixth grade. Seth yeah. Very embarrassing. It was embarrassing. Seth yeah. And then alisons was, she had like she got her tongue pierces for like eight hours and then reversed. Seth yeah. Heres what seths seth okay, hold on. Seths was that he was in paris . Seth no, i was hiking in the alps. He was in the alps. Seth paris in the summer. [ laughter ] he was he was he was mistaken for Bradley Cooper. [ laughter ] its not embarrassing at all. Its the opposite of the assignment. [ laughter ] its like me being like, oh, i got mistaken for schwarzenegger in milan. You know what i mean . Like, first of all, that doesnt happen. Second of all, its just not selfdeprecating. Seth its a little embarrassing for Bradley Cooper. [ laughter ] can i say what happened . Yeah. Seth and this is what happened. The today show, you go do the today show and they say, hey, could you come up with six things that are embarrassing . And im just i so like, what . Then they said, we found . Stories youve told other places. Right. Seth and i promise when i first told the Bradley Cooper story, it was selfdeprecating. But i should have caught it and said, this is bad for the game. But also, bud, it happened. [ laughter ] buddy buddy buddy buddy buddy, buddy, buddy. I gotta go, i gotta go its always [ light laughter ] seth yeah. Thats what i said to the french people. You this is a wonderful documentary special. Its about your process as a writer. And one of the things you had to agree to do, and its very interesting, and i highly recommend everybody watch it, you had to give access to people, not just to shoot you on stage, but also shoot you talking about comedy, working through material. Was it did you feel vulnerable . It was hard. Because the hardest part of, you know i did the old man and the pool special which just came out at Lincoln Center last year. And then, once thats done, im out of i dont have a new hour. I dont have a new act. So we go out, some of the stuff bombs. And it feels bad. I mean, you seth yeah. Standup, fred does standup, when it doesnt go well, its hard. Seth yeah. And so to give that access, you know, Eddie Schmidt who directed it, jesse fox who cocreated it, is hard because they can do anything. They can take footage they can do a super cut of me eating french fries, you know what i mean . Like 50 hours of footage. They can make it anything. And then people are like, yeah, mike and french fries, you know what i mean . And so you have to put trust into the idea. Then it turned out wonderfully. I this literally just happened last night. I was at the comedy cellar working out new material here in new york. Someone whos a fan of good one which just came out, i walk onstage, and they go, good one which is normally a heckle. [ light laughter ] its literally what you would say if someone sucks at comedy. Good one and i was like, oh, you saw good one, all right. So theres some good one heads out there. Seth well its funny cause your podcast is called working it out. And if you told a joke and someone called working it out . Also a heckle. Thats right. Not there yet [ light laughter ] keep at it seth old man in the pool and i think all your shows, your specials, have a real humanity to them in a way that people connect with them. And you are telling stories that are both unique to you but also i think experienced by a lot of people. I think thats why people thats why they endure and theyre really special. Old man in the pool is a cool special. Its about you, its about health issues, about getting older. Is it something that people approach you about a lot . People the people i really appreciate that people came out to it, that theyve watched it on netflix. I its funny. I dont have every now and then, ill end up in a conversation where someone will bring it up. I was at a movie recently, someone came up to me and they said, like, to their friend, like, this is Mike Birbiglia. The woman was a casting director. And she goes, oh, okay. Then she goes, she goes, hes the star of the old man and the pool on broadway. and the casting director, who does this professionally, goes, oh, Mike Birbiglia, i thought you were big and fat. [ light laughter ] and i wouldnt recommend saying that socially as sort of an openended, where could this conversation go . Because it just sort of sat there. And i go, yeah, i guess, i dont know. I mean, apparently thats the file im in in the casting office. Im not in the looks like Bradley Cooper file. [ laughter and applause ] seth yeah, yeah. Buddy buddy buddy buddy, buddy, buddy. Seth youre going on the road. Yes. Seth going to oklahoma, going on texas. Im going part of the reasons i go to texas and oklahoma, theres so much space. Its so hard to drive this long space. One time i was driving from houston to weatherford, oklahoma, which im not even sure is a town. [ light laughter ] some of the places i visit are just an applebees with a dream. [ light laughter ] the im driving. And i was running out of gas. And whats tricky about that is, in oklahoma, theres parts of the state that just there isnt anything. Like, there isnt there arent molecules. You know what i mean . They theyre just like, were nowhere in space and time you know what i mean . But we have two senators, which is odd, by the way. Seth yeah. I do think that that is an odd thing about oklahoma. But i but i was running out of gas. And i literally, i was desperate. And i was like, oh, theres a town coming up. And it was as though god was playing a joke on me. The town was corn. [ light laughter ] corn, oklahoma. And they dont have gas. Ethanol. They do have ethanol. And seth solid corn joke. [ light laughter ] but i got i got to weatherford, i did the show. It was at this big gymnasium at a college. It was wonderful. And i will say, we talk on good one, people ask us a lot, wheres the best place to perform, wheres the worst place to perform . You probably get that a lot. Seth i do, yes. Im going to oklahoma partly because they love comedy there. Seth yeah. You find in the cities where they really want you to show up, people have been asking me to come to tulsa for a while, and im like, im going this time. Im super optimistic. When people love comedy, they generally have a great time at the shows. Seth well, have a great weekend. Its lovely to see you here. You too. [ cheers and applause ] seth Mike Birbiglia. Good one a show about jokes streaming on peacock. Well be right back with more late night. [ cheers and applause ] [bird caws] commuter whoa siri continue straight.
