A deadly car fire this morning in the south bay. It happened around 9 30 in curpeti in, o. Firefighters discovered there was inside the burning pickup truck. Crews put out the flames quickly but not in time to safe the life of the person inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation. On the roads today, a nasty crash in San Francisco left six people, including two children injured tonight. One of the cars in the crash was turned over on its side. The other smashed into a concrete barrier, the entrance to golden gate park. It happened just after 11 00 in the morning. One person seriously injured but they will survive. At least one person was arrested on the scene. But police have not said what charges theyre facing. And now to a crash on 880 just south of first street. One of the cars flipped over near the median. Our top stories tonight, a deadly Police Officer involved shooting in downtown redwood city. It happened near the Wells Fargo Bank at 2 30. The woman was about to use the atm when she saw a man pacing outside with a gun. Police were called in. They tried negotiating with him. Thats when police say he fired at least one shot towards officers. They then responded with deadly force. The mans name hasnt been released. Officers around the country came to a funeral this morning for a fallen chp officer. Andrew camaleri was killed by a suspected drunk driver. He was taken to his final resting place in his hometown of tracy. He leaves behind a wife and three children. Reporter and new york citys Fire Department showing damage inside the building where three people died. The fire started after a child was playing with a stockton. The flames raced stove. The flames raced up the stairwell quickly. He went back in after rescuing several and died from smoke inhalation. We talked with people who knew him. Reporter this tragic fire is being called the worst the city has seen in many years. 28yearold emmanuel was one of the 12 who died here. Hes being called a hero. The serviceman was home for the holiday when the fire started. And his father says thats when he went to work trying to save lives. They were telling me he was rescuing people from the fire. He didnt live in apartment 1. He lives on room 11. Room 15. So thats what made me believe that he was trying to do that. And thats how he is. Reporter we now know the fire was started by a 3year old boy playing with a stove. The mother was not aware of it, was alerted by the young man screaming. She exited her apartment with her 2yearold and 3yearold and left the door open. Reporter among the 12 victim who is died here, four were children. And four members were from the same family. The fire broke out around 7 00 thursday night in a first floor apartment here on prospect avenue. And then it quickly spread out of control, swept through this entire building. That fire was the deadliest blaze in new york city in 278 years. New video 27 years. New video from the united kingdom. Check out this fire in manchester. The flames started on the ninth floor and quickly started spreading. Several people had to be rescued by the dozens of firefighters that responded. Only one person had minor injuries from all the smoke. Investigators are still trying to pinpoint the cause. The officer who shot the victim is now on paid leave. He has 7 1 2 years on the force. Two las vegas security guards were shot and killed while on duty early this morning. They were shot by a man inside one of the rooms at the hotel and casino known as arizona charlies about ten minutes west of the strip. Police say the gunman ran off into a nearby home and shot himself. His condition is not being released. Investigators still dont know what led up to the shooting. Case of Police Brutality under investigation tonight in alabama. The 17yearold boy at the center of the case is still at the hospital. The teens loved ones are demanding answers.
