Fire crews were up against triple digit temps there while fighting these flames. All of this started because of a car crash. Pickup truck crashed into a pole. Reporter on the fire line this is afternoon, firefighters were battling not only the blaze, but the heat and the limits of their own endurance. Even without the fire bellowing like a furnace in their faces, this would be a taxing battle for firefighters. Triple digit temperatures and 50 pounds of equipment all taking a toll. Theyre wearing the boots, the jacket, pants, helmet and on top of that theyre going to carry a bundle of hose. All told, thats about 50 pounds of gear. Reporter the fire raced up these dry brown parched hill sides. It left dozens of firefighters braving the fastmoving flames and choking shock back on the ground. Charged with 36 counts of manslaughter for the 2016 warehouse fire. Observers say the prolonged deliberations may mean the 9 members of the jury are having trouble agreeing on a verdict. Today max harris attorney told the victims attorneys they have a lot to gain if his client is found innocent. The city of oakland does have money. They hooked up a portable defibrillator to try to save him. I put the pads on him and then he was doing the ventilation, so i shocked out. You shocked him. You pulled the trigger . Yes, sir. Those life guards and firefighters arrived, took over. A small ceremony was held today to honor the two young men and First Responders who saved this guys life. Theyre so young. Amazing.
