Down on the central and eastern u. S. The same storm system pounded missouri yesterday. Slick roads caused hazardous conditions, and interstates on both sides of kansas and missouri were forced to close. The snow follow hard as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Denver Broncos yesterday. At one point, chiefs Tyron Matthew dropped to the ground and made a snow angel. Our chicago station, wbbm shows where the storm is headed. The storm will connect with deep moisture from the gulf of mexico, and its going to create wintry weather from missouri all the way to maine. As it pushes closer to the eastern seaboard monday night into Tuesday Morning, we could see problems with some Ice Accumulation as cold air rushes in behind the system. We see a second front that will be a reinforcing shot of cold air. The snow, yes, it will line up ape good one to four inches possible with some isolated five or sixinch totals as low pressure travels to the east. Cold air rushes in north of that system. But our concern really is for monday night into Tuesday Morning as we take you into the state of pennsylvania. Those areas in pink, thats going to indicate where we will have issues with ice. So north of that, it will be all snow. South of it with the deep connection from the gulf of mexico, it is going to feed a lot of rain through the carolinas. And that is going to link up and override the system, creating that icy threat. So really as we go through tuesday, we are going to watch the area shaded in pink for some slick roads. Certainly Power Outages are possible. And even some Ice Accumulation. Cbs news. A historic vote is on tap for the house of representatives. On wednesday lawmakers are expected to vote on articles of impeachment against President Trump. This could make mr. Trump only the third president in u. S. History to be impeached. There are new developments behind the scenes. A freshman democrat from new jersey could switch to the republican party. Representative jeff van drew. Drew says that he strongly opposes impeaching mr. What can we expect as the vote is set to get under way on wednesday, right . Reporter well, i think were going to be seeing strategizing because each party wants to put up a united front and emphasize that their position is the right one. For democrats, that the president should be removed from office for putting himself before country. For republicans, that means insisting that this has been a concerted effort by the left since the day President Trump was elected in order to get rid of him. The senates top democrat is calling on his republican colleagues to produce an honest impeachment trial. Im worried that we wont get a fair trial where all the facts and all the truth comes out. Reporter with the house of representatives almost certain to impeach President Trump on wednesday, minority leader Chuck Schumer wrote a letter to republican majority leader mitch mcconnell. He wants four current and former Trump Administration officials to testify. That includes acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and former National Security advisor john bolton. Neither testified during the house impeachment inquiry. I am ready to vote on the underlying articles. I dont really need to hear a lot of witnesses. If the president wants to call witnesses, if the president wants to call hunter biden or the whistleblower, the senate should allow the president to do so. Reporter the white house has been working with Senate Republicans to coordinate a strategy. We wouldnt be doing our job if we werent working hand in hand with the senate to clear the president of this charade, this sham. Reporter democrats say that violates their oath of impartiality as jurors. We ought to stand up to the demeanor, the history in terms of doing this the proper way. Reporter you mentioned before that one democratic congressman is going to be switching to republican because he so disagrees with impeachment. On the other hard, an independent congresswoman, just yan in amash is expected to vote for impeachment and he was a republican until he came out in favor of the inquiry. Laura podesta, thank you so much. The race for the white house is tightening ahead of super tuesday. 14 states are to hold contests on march 3rd. Close to a third of the delegates will be decided on that day. A new cbs news Battleground Tracker shows joe biden is leading the pack by 28 . Elizabeth warren is a close second at 25 . Bernie sanders is third followed by pete buttigieg. The former new york city mayor, michael bloomberg, who recently launched his president ial bid, is already polling fifth. Meanwhile, the sixth democratic president ial debate set for this week in los angeles is in jeopardy. The seven candidates scheduled to appear are pledging to boycott the debate in support of striking workers at Loyola Marymount university.
