And San Francisco will have a portable bathrooms and handwashing stations in response to the pandemic located in different neighborhoods across the estate and will be staffed and serviced daily. Crews installed five of the portable bathrooms and handwashing stations today with all5p and running by early next week. They will be available 24 hours a day. Authorities in Alameda County are cracking down on illegal price gouging on Health Products such as face masks and Hand Sanitizer. The Sheriffs Department tweeted seeing local markets selling n 95 masks for 10 each and a bottle of Hand Sanitizer for 8. Reporter the program called seniors around town working with the city, kate wiley founded the Free Transportation service for orinda citizens in 2005 and operates under orinda association. Its life changing and meeting their desire to remain in their home, to remain independent. Reporter 70 fullyvetted volunteers drive more than 120 seniors from their homes to where they need to go in the east bay for medical appointments, to social engagements. A third of theerly writers live in lowincome housing. Seniors around town provides more than 1,400 rides a year but as kate says its more than a ride. Reporter friendships form and thats vital for their wellbeing. If they are not engaged in the community, they dont eat, they dont go to the doctor, they dont take care of themselves, and their Life Expectancy is greatly reduced for that. Reporter volunteer Pam Schroeder, and kathy gothhorn say it comes from a humble heart. It gets done with speed and they get it right with such love and kindness. Lets get to kpix joe vase kozinski live in hayward. Reporter six people have died in this nursing home behind me as a result of the coronavirus. This is theat a reh center in hayward. Officials report a total of 59 people here at the gateway have been infected with covid19. 35 residents and 24 Staff Members. Again, six people died among those residents. Moments ago we talked to a man whose his wife is a nurse here. He says she is one of the staffers who tested positive. My wife tested positive and shes now fully isolated at home and im taking care of her and after she got diagnosed positive, they called and one of the employees, the supervisor, told my wife that you can still come to work. And i said no, its against the law because weve been told if you are diagnosed youre supposed to be isolated. Reporter another facility less than ten miles away down 880 also had an outbreak east bay post accuse Center Reports 17 Staff Members and nine residents tested positive there.
