Followed by onland santa rafting, the westminster banana ondog show. And finally, at 10 00, the best of old man hideandseek. Espn weve boldly loosened our definition of sport. I never thought id say this, but i miss baseball. crying announcer its a late show with stephen colbert. Tonight, total authoritarian plus, stephen welcomes dr. Jon lapook and Cate Blanchett. Featuring jon batiste and stay homein. And now, live on tape from a safe distance, its stephen colbert. Stephen hello hey and welcome to a late show. I am your host, stephen colbert. Its nice to see you. I cant see you. I would like to see you. I miss you. I know you get to see me, but this is a oneway street. And i really like my audience. I like the connection. I like the give and take. I like the energy. You know who really, really misses having an audience . Donald trump. You see, he cant hold rallies right now, because the coronavirus would threaten the lives of his supporters. And politics 101 is do not kill your voters. Its a bad move. Remember, Adlai Stevenson lost with his slogan, i will murder all of you in 52. So trump has turned the Coronavirus Press briefings into the white house everyday into little rallies, where he rambles incoherently and attacks the press. And yesterday, he outdid himself with a hissy fit meltdown that clocked in at a generalissimo masgrande o oand 24 minutes. It was like watching the irishman with just one unconvincingly deaged criminal. Trump was angry, you see, with all the exposes that were published this past weekend about his wellknown public failure to take the coronavirus seriously. So, he forced the assembled press to watch a video of his supposed coronavirus success well answer some questions. Ill ask you some questions, because youre so guilty. But forget it. But, most importantly, were going to get back onto the reason were here, which is the success were having. Okay. Please, if you could put it up. Thank you. People should be more concerned right now with the flu in this country stephen okay, first of all, its ridiculous that the president of the United States used a press briefing on a Global Pandemic to subject a worried nation to a propaganda video. And second, your propaganda sucks. All caps, black letters on a white background . Helvetica . Are you boasting about your accomplishments or offering to teach us guitar . The only purpose of the press briefing is to give valuable information to a confused public in the middle of a national crisis. So, of course, trump used it to brag about himself. Its like if the fireman showed up to your burning house, and instead of picking up a hose said, wow, this inferno is the perfect backdrop for my oneman show about how its not my fault your house is burning down. And a 5678. I didnt start the fire it was always burning but you didnt listen is there any clapping in that song . No clapping. Stephen no clapping in that song but that was pretty good. I was was i on key . You were you were pretty close. Stephen okay, i was pretty close. Trumps video about the bold action he took skipped over a couple of things for instance, it skipped over the entire month of february. So cbs reporter paula reid had the temerity to ask him about that. Reporter what did your administration do in february with the time that your travel ban bought you . A lot. A lot. Reporter what . And, in fact, well give you a list. What we did in fact, part of it was up there. We did a lot. Look, look. You know youre a fake. You know that. Your whole network, the way you cover it is fake. Stephen as trump youre a fake. You know youre a fake. You know february is a fake month. There are a lot of fake months out there. Some of the months are real, of course january, march bruary, brapril, octopussy, and santacon. But, true to his word, trump did have a list of what he did to fight the coronavirus in february, and in a late show exclusive, ive got it right here. It includes, a lot. Banged pots in case virus is like bears. Sent virus 130k to make it go away. Wrote angry letter to Prime Minister of corona. Socially distanced eric. Thats smart. Called virus liddle covy on twitter. And put off everything til march. Lets have that notarized and sent to the library of congress, please, thank you. Okay, anyway, im sorry. You were yelling at a woman i know thats kind of your thing but it doesnt mean shes wrong. You see, mr. President , you can lie all you want, but what youre lying about happened less than two months ago. We were all here, and we had something called cameras, and they recorded you saying this. And i think this is all going to work out fine. You know, in april, supposedly it dies with the hotter weather. We have the greatest doctors in the world. We have it very much under control. The people are getting better. Theyre all getting better. We have it so much under control. I mean, we really have done a really good job. Now the democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. This is their new hoax. Theres no reason to panic at all. Its going to disappear. One day, its like a miracle. It will disappear. When you have 15 people, and the 15, within a couple of days, is going to be down to close to zero. Stephen we remember that were not goldfish. You know how i know . Goldfish can still go to schools. We all remember, that trump, the republicans, fox news downplayed the seriousness of this virus and told us all to do nothing. They took all their chips, and they bet the under, and they lost. Im not surprised they lost. Trump has bankrupted a lot of casinos. So trump has no chips but somehow believes that hes a dealer. Case in point, reopening the country. Trump thinks hes the one who gets to do it, while the states say, no, were good. Because governors on the east and west coasts have formed pacts to decide when to reopen their economies. Okay, groups of states banding together regionally to do things on their own is always a harbinger of good things to come in america, right . Its like that famous quote, a house divided against itself is going to be fun the west coast group, or Western State pact, consists of california, oregon, and washington. And, according to californias governor, gavin newsom, will be guided by facts, evidence and science, using californiabased thinking. Californiabased thinking, so their science bros and broettes are going to make decisions based on evidence thats hella tight. And the masks, of coures, will be made of avocados. Newsom wants to gradually ease restrictions in california, in what he called, a bottomup plan not to be confused with a bottoms up plan, which is to keep drinking until this is over. Right now, were still in Clinical Trials. Mmm. Mmm. Inconclusive. But yesterday, trump insisted, despite what the states may think, hes the one in charge, because when someones president , their authority is total. And, im being told we have footage of the president saying that, jim. You will respect my authoritah stephen he looks good. What . Oh, im sorry, im being told that that was actually a south park cartoon and that i knew that. Heres the actual footage. When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total. Stephen well ill give him this much he does have authority, and the country is totaled. One reporter challenged trumps claim. Reporter you said when someone is president of the United States, their authority is total. That is not true. Who told you that . You know what were gonna do . Were going to write up papers on this. Stephen oh, good. I need some toilet paper. Now, new yorks governor, andrew cuomo, was on cbs this morning this morning on cbs this morning, on cbs, and he is not buying the president s assertion of authority. The president s position is just absurd. Its not the law. Its not the constitution. We dont have a king. Stephen i dont know. Seems like a king golden crown, multiple wives, inbred sons. And cuomo also reminded his fellow governors not to take trumps propagandainfused press conferences seriously. A governor should not watch that. Theres no value in it. It would be it is infuriating and offensive and, frankly, ignorant of the facts. If it wasnt so serious, it would be funny, all of this. It could be a comedy skit. Stephen sir, on behalf of people who have dedicated their entire lives to comedy skits, i am offended by the comparison. Comedy skits should be less than two and a half hours long, and the punchline shouldnt make you want to punch someone in the face. Later in the day, cuomo said if trump ordered him to reopen his state in a way that would endanger people, he wouldnt do it. That may have led to this strange tweet as trump tell the democrat governors that mutiny on the bounty was one of my alltime favorite movies. A good, oldfashioned mutiny every now and then is an exciting and invigorating thing to watch, especially when the mutineers need so much from the captain. Too easy first of all, what . Second of all, what the bleep . Third of all, for one of his favorite movies, trump is not that clear on the plot of mutiny on the bounty. Things do not turn out well for captain bligh. Hes overthrown and ends up in a tiny boat rowing back to england. God, i hope this is like mutiny on the bounty. Does trump misinterpret every movie he sees . as trump look, tell the democrat governors that silence of the lambs, one of my alltime favorite movies. Its about a concerned scientist trying to catch a killer and coming up with creative fava bean recipes for everyone hes got quarantined in his basement pit. The governor opens up its state, or it gets the hose again. Now, before all the fireworks began, trumps briefing started with a public humiliation of dr. Anthony fauci. You see, on sunday, dr. Fauci said he had received pushback on enacting lifesaving social distancing earlier in the pandemic, but he walked that back at the press conference in front of the president. You said there was pushback. Where did that pushback come from . No, it wasnt. That was the wrong choice of words. Stephen as fauci specifically, it was the wrong choice to use words. When describing this administrations response, i really should have just said ahhhhh grrrrrrr yeesh hoo cuckoo paula reid was also skeptical about faucis sincerity. Reporter are you doing this voluntarily, or did the president or the Vice President ask you to do this . No, im doing it. Everything i do is voluntarily. Please, dont even imply that. Stephen yes, this is the universal sign for im not a hostage. Dont even imply that im blinking out a different message in morse code. Call the police. You know what . I said good for dr. Fauci. I dont care if he is being pressured. Say anything sir, do anything to stay in that room. Dont leave us alone with the bad man so, it was a twoandahalf hourlong, insane, emotional, misinforming, propagandistic press conference. But at least this reporter asked the question that was on all of our minds whats happening . stephen folks, we have got a show for you tonight. Say hi to our friend jon batiste. Jon hello stephen hello, friend. Hey, im going to be talking to jonathan lapook, chief medical correspondent for cbs news in just a minute. Do you have a question for him about the pandemic . Jon oh, wow, so many questions. When is this going to be over . Thats the biggest question. Stephen i will start with this, what, is the exit strategy . All right, done. All right, all right, i got to go. Can you give us a little taste before we go . Jon yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a little taste of something. Stephen jon batiste, everybody. Jon hey, there stephen goodbye, my friend. Jon byebye. Have a good one. Stephen turning to a smaller story, the 2020 election. Ever since joe biden wrapped up the democratic primary, theres one endorsement hes been waiting for president barack obama, seen here remembering. Well, today, president obama dropped this video on bidens youtube channel, and started on a casual note. Hi, everybody stephen hi, hi hey, so happy to see you wow, its been way too long listen, theres a lot weve got to catch up on. Did you know that the president after you is that guy donald trump from the pizza hut commercials . It has been a dozy of a few years. I dont know where to start. Okay, here we go. The day after the inauguration, he claimed his crowd sizes were you know what, never mind. Ill send you some links. Hows Richard Branson . Where have you been . Im sorry. This isnt fair. Go ahead. You were endorsing someone . Im so proud to endorse joe biden for president of the United States. Choosing joe to be my Vice President was one of the best decisions i ever made. And he became a close friend. Stephen as biden thats yabba, dabba, true. Told ya me n barack are besties and that proves it. I also do have a girlfriend up in canada. Shes superhot, and we went to third base behind the five and dime. Shes just too busy to come down and campaign with me. Now obama laid out all the ways biden outshines our current president when joe talks about opportunity for our kids, we hear the young father who took the train home each night so he could tuck his children into bed. And we hear the influence of jill, a lifelong teacher. Stephen yes, jill has been very good with one particular student, who has some behavioral issues, because evidentially hes a biter. Obama also expanded on the biggest appeal of bidens presidency other people. I know hell surround himself with good people experts, scientists, military officials who actually know how to run the government. Stephen hey hey, now, mister leave trumps staff alone. Its full of the worlds top sonsinlaws, fox news castoffs, scarecrows that wish to be media representatives, and Brain Surgeons who are in charge of housing, for some reason. Obama also talked about how times have changed since his first campaign. I could not be prouder of the incredible progress that we made together during my presidency. But, if i were running today, i wouldnt run the same race or have the same platform as i did in 2008. Stephen haha. Wouldnt it be funny if you did run for president again . Wouldnt that be hilarious . Or michelle . Or, how old are the girls now . Or bo . Whats bo doing . Nothing in the rulebook says a dog cant be president. Obama also reached out to supporters of bernie sanders, knowing that joe biden cannot win the presidency without them. Bernies an american original, a man who has devoted his life to giving voice to working peoples hopes, dreams, and frustrations. Stephen right now, mostly the frustration part. And he laid out the stakes in november. Our countrys future hangs on this election. And it wont be easy. The other side has a massive war chest. The other side has a Propaganda Network with little regard for the truth. Stephen as obama so this time around, were taking a page out of their book. Joe is the strongest, sharpest, youngest man ever to run for president , and hes going to give everyone a pony you can have sex with. Vote biden sex horse 2020. Well be right back with your questions for cbs chief medical correspondent, dr. Jonathan lapook. Thats right, i went from sex horse to lapook. No transition. My first guest tonight is the chief medical correspondent for cbs news. Please welcome, dr. Jonathan lapook doctor, thank you so much for being here. Great to be here, stephen. Stephen people say were at war with this virus. Theyre using that metaphor a lot. Yeah. Stephen but, when you go into a war, certainly you have a goal of what victory is. You have an exit strategy. Whats our exit strategy for this virus . Yeah, well, ultimately, the exit strategy is that this vaccine is widely given. So amazingly, when they came up with a vaccine, when they made the vaccine for sars, it took 20 months. What theyve done subsequently is fewer and fewer months to do it. So tony fauci explained this all to me. It took about two months i think it was 63 days from the moment that they got the sequence of this new virus, the novel coronavirus, until it was a vaccine that was to be tested. But its still going to take about a year, a year and a half, for it to be adequately tested. By the way, the way they did that was absolutely amazing. So, they had a zika vaccine that had already been invented. They basically unscrewed the part of it that was specific for zika and they screwed on a part that would be specific for this new coronavirus. Something like that, not exactly, its amazing stephen did they use crispr to do that . They did not use crispr, but that was a really smart question, stephen, because people are looking at that for future vaccines. Stephen thank you, thats what i specialize in, Smart Questions that arent applicable. And yet, a smart question, nevertheless. I think ultimately were all going to be more relaxed when we have a vaccine that we know works, the milliondollar question. Stephen why does this take a year to a year and a half . If we have something that is possible viable in two, two and a half months, what is going on in the year, year and a half that were waiting . Testing. So, the first phase is to see what you know, is it safe . Do people get it small numbers . And do they have some horrible reaction . Then a larger number of people in a phase two. They may combine it with phase three, to see are there any unexpected side effects . You know, stephen, medicine is an eternally humbling profession. Seriously, if you have been a doctor for five years, and you dont understand that, if you have any hubris left, youre in the wrong profession. We have all had our heads handed to us, and look at thalidomide, drugs that have terrible side effects. So, were hoping, were crossing our fingers that this is going to be safe and effective but you dont bet on it. You have to test it and this is no time to throw out science. Its a time to embrace science and make sure were doing things the right way, even though theres such a pressure to say, lets go ahead and try it. Stephen well, when can we embrace each other . When can i go out on a street and hug a stranger . Do you know, when you get hugged, your oxytocin, the feel good hormone, goes up . And not only does it make you feel good, but i was just reading about it, it actually helps regulate your immune system. So i think, and of course we need our immune system in order to beat this virus because its something we dont have any known treatment for. So, not only do hugs increase our oxytocin, make us feel good. But the social the social but the socializing, getting together makes us less anxious. If were less anxious, we can get better sleep. If we get better sleep guess what happens when you sleep . Your immune system is repaired, and we need that. Stephen well, speaking of no known treatment for this, some people are pushing the idea of hydroxychloroquine as the answer. That would be great if thats right. Other drugs that have been promising have been kevzara, and remdesivir. Am i saying that correctly . Yes, remdesivir. Stephen remdesivir. How close are we to knowing if these are viable treatments . All right, again, this is a moment where you have to embrace science. And you have to be realistic. In the hospital this is whats going on inside the hospital in the trenches, which is people are sick as hell. And doctors want to treat them with something, even its not proven, even if its not proven. So when a patient comes into a hospital, into my hospital, n. Y. U. Langone, theyll get a cocktail. Theyll get hydroxychloroquine, zithromax, theyll get zinc. Theyll get steroids, and theyll get anticoagulation in low dose and maybe later, high dose. So, and its hard to figure out like, which is the perfect study to know which of those help . So, theres that. On the other hand we have to do the controlled trials. And i think its going to be very hard to do those trials in the hospital when people are so sick and you just, just you want to be scientific but you have to give them something. And i think the trials that are under way right now and they are under way right now are looking not only at the severe disease but at people who have milder disease and people who are have been exposed to people who have covid. So, maybe if a doctor has covid, and hydroxychloroquine is given, or other medicines are given to their relatives or close contacts, maybe that will have a role. But right now, we dont know. And, really, stephen, theres no reason to place a bet on it. You dont have to have a dog in the fight. We want them all to work and we have to try them all. And hopefully well come up with something. Right now we dont have anything thats proven. Stephen now, we asked our audience out there, who are following us on twitter. We asked our twitter followers to tweet us their questions about coronavirus for you. Can i, can i pass some of these on to you . Absolutely. Stephen okay. This is from calyna haunt. Yeah, so there was some interesting stuff, right. It could be on cardboard for a day or several days if its on plastic or metal. But heres the good thing, this virus has a membrane. It has a lipid membrane, and it dissolves like that with soap. So just take your clothes off, throw them in the laundry, on warm cycle, with soap, and that should take care of it. Yeah, so, thats one of those things where you dont want to go you dont want to go down the rabbit hole. Youre trying as hard as you can, but i think you have to become almost an epidemiologist and think, okay whats the worstcase scenario . The person who delivered the food had virus on their hands and now the virus is on the bag. What ive been doing in my own apartment is, i have the bag left outside the apartment or the home i take it out of the bag, i take the stuff out of the bag, i put it in the sink. If its got plastic around it, what im doing is gently sudsing off, soaping off the plastic container. And then, and heres the key thing, i mean, you can decide whether you want to eat it in the plastic or transfer it from the plastic to something else. But the key thing is this if you wash your hands and i mean really wash your hands for 20 seconds, and you dont touch your mouth, nose, ears or eyes before even if you have virus all over your hands, youre not going to infect yourself. So, it doesnt magically get to you. The way we get it is, our hands touch something, its got virus on it, and then, of course, 23 times an hour when they secretly videoed medical students in australia, 23 times an hour they touched their face. So we all do that. So the key thing is to wash your hands a lot, to sneeze into the crook of your arm, or into a tissue, and then the social distancing. So all this stuff that seems so simple, is really important. Stephen okay, that question was from the real alex q. This is from twoshrinks. You bet. And this is the question were all asking ourselves, right . Its cold, flu, and allergy season. Weve all had sniffles, a cold, any of these symptoms, right . Its everything from, lets see, no symptoms asymptomatic to horrible pneumonia and youre on the verge of death. So everything in between a lot of us are wondering if we had. And the way were going to know that ultimately is this antibody test. So let me quickly just go over it. Theres the p. C. R. , which is the test in your nose and throat to see if you have active virus now. Them theres the blood test. Its a simple blood test. Its like the same type of biology and technology for the measles, mumps, and rubella test that a lot of us have each year. You take that, very quickly, you can find out whether you have antibodies. The reason why antibodies are so important is they dont tell you if you have the infection. They tell you if you had the infection. And heres what we dont know for sure if you do have these antibodies, what degree of protection do you have against further and future infection if it acts like a lot of other viruses have, it should be for a year or two. Were not sure. Were studying that right now. So the answer to his question is you need to have that antibody test, yes, absolutely. A lot of us, i believe, it was probably around january and february. Stephen now, wait a second, if you had it and you achieved immunity because you had it, if you take your blood and put it in me, am i immune now . No. So you have to either sorry, stephen. That whole vampire thing. You have to either get infected and then develop immunity, assuming you survive which 80 of people have relatively mild illness or the vaccine, which then makes you have your own immune system. Thats active immunity. Whats called passive immunity is when you get serum, and theyre trying this right now in trials. Somebody who has had covid19, they recovered, they have a lot of antibodies in their blood. They take stuff called plasma, which is the part without the red, white cells and platelets in it, and then they give it to somebody in a transfusion. And they hope the antibodies will protect them, somehow fight the virus. Now were not sure if thats going to work. There are Clinical Trials going on. But, yeah, sorry about that stephen. Stephen there goes my start up. Well, doctor thank you so much for being here. Stay safe. Stay safe yourself, stephen. Thanks for inviting me. Stephen dr. There doesnt seem to be a lot of point, especially when youre going to feed the pigs, feed the children. I cant tell you how many loads of laundry today was change the bed day so that doesnt seem to be a point. Stephen that is a big day. And what are you wearing . Stephen im wearing a checked shirt and some bedroom slippers. Oh dont, dont, thats too hot. Stephen if it would make you more comfortable, i can get in pajamas, too. Because im next to my bedroom here. That would make me feel more comfortable. Stephen okay, hold on. Jim, can we, can you pause for a second . But, you know, i am i am more like the Homeroom Teacher who has no particular skill, but i can coral people into doing things. So, i mean, my 11yearold my fiveyearold, frankly, has surpassed me in her algebraic skills, so im not a lot of use. Im okay with geography. Stephen okay. But they all seem to not like geography. What i have been doing, because the kids are on holidays for easter, ive been clearing out the attic. And i you now that im at home i cant remember whether we talked about it when we last met, but we certainly have talked about it, that on the lord of the rings stephen yes, we have talked about lord of the rings together, i promise you weve done that. I know. And so i was looking for my ears, my elf ears, and i couldnt find them, and i know the kids have hobbit feet somewhere, and i thought id love to show them to you. I couldnt find them but i did find stephen gasps tauriels fighting blades. Stephen wow. Pretty cool. Stephen those are amazing. I mean, some people stock toilet paper . But, i got these. Stephen wait, you have tauriels fighting blades . Why do you have tauriels fighting blades . Yeah stephen why doesnt Evangeline Lily have them . Well, i dont know. Maybe i should actually, you did not see those. Dont speak to Evangeline Lily any time soon. And you know how the thor film was shut down in australia. It didnt have anything to do with covid19. Its because i got the hammer stephen you have mjolnir . I have mjolnir here. And look, look how easy i can lift that. So, i looked for all of these things for you. I couldnt find the ears, but i did find the hammer. Stephen mmhmm, okay, well, thank you very much. Thats what ive been doing. Ive been doing a lot of cleaning with the kids, cleaning out the attic. Stephen i have a question for you you might be able to help me with. You played bob dylan. I know. Stephen in im not there you played bob dylan and ive got a beef with bob dylan right now. I wanted to do a parody of the subterranean homesick blues in response to bob dylan putting out this new album about the death john f. Kennedy and the coronavirus. Oh stephen and he will not let me do it. He will not let me do it. So, youve got inside his head, you are a good enough actor to understand where hes coming from. Why wouldnt bob let me do it . I think its the word parody. You might have, if youd said, if you want to inhabit stephen a celebration . A celebration . Words matter to dylan. Stephen damn poets and their words. I want to make fun of your song you know . Stephen i want to personally mock and you your entire work. Do you have a favorite dylan lyric . I think its some of us are prisoners and some of us are guards, i guess. Stephen ive always loved from tambourine man where he says, my weariness amazes me. I am branded on my feet. Yeah, yeah. Stephen i just love that phrase, i am branded on my feet. But its also stephen go ahead, please. No, no, no, you go. Stephen i also like from up to me, when he says i met i met a girl face to face. I had to remove my hat. Shes everything i need and love, but i cant be fazed by that. It frightens me, the awful truth of how sweet life can be. She aint going to make a move. I guess it must be up to me. But ive always loved it frightens me the awful truth of how sweet life can be. Yeah. Stephen because to me, its an accusation by life of how sweet yours could be, if you would do the thing that you should do. Yes, its so hes so elliptical. But you know, the amazing thing about dylan is you, you, there are certain songs which you sort of you appreciate but you skim by. And theres always a point in your life where suddenly, its like seeing those those very frustrating 3d drawings and everyone goes, oh, its tiger there and i cant see the tiger stephen the magic eye poster . And all of a sudden, you see the tiger. There are so many of his songs that are like that. But, i think dont think twice is one of my alltime favorite dylan songs and i cannot tell you why. You just kinda wasted my precious time. Its all right. You know, i think its the insouciance that i find so attractive, i guess. I know that in your new series, mrs. America you play Phyllis Schlafly. Who, was she the head of was it called the eagles forum . Yes, the eagle forum. I mean, the central premise of the plot line of the series is about the fight over the equal rights amendment, and, you know, which was one of the fiercest battlegrounds of the culture wars of the 1970s. And Phyllis Schlafly was a staunchly conservative mother of six from alton, illinois. And she was a terrifyingly brilliant, grassroots organizer. And she mobilized a whole group of traditional women, homemakers who felt marginalized by the feminist Womens Movement. And they turned their fear of change into political power. I mean, she was an absolute force of nature. And i didnt know anything about her. Until i saw this little old lady in the at the tail end of Trumps Campaign come out on the stage, and everyone stood up. And i thought, who is she . Stephen was this 2016 . Yeah, and i thought why was she so important . And i realized that trump needed her mailing list. And i think what drew me to the series, you know, a piece that deals with secondwave feminism. And the schism in the Womens Movement, the traditional Womens Movement and the feminist Womens Movement was trying to work out why so many women voted for trump. And i think a lot of that. How and why, lies with Phyllis Schlafly and her, and her army of supporters. And so she got, she got behind him. Stephen well, we we have got to let you go because, obviously, its bed time for you. I have to go to bed. Stephen before we go, could i could i ask you for a little Customer Feedback here. Whats this like on the other side . I i actually i prefer it, in a way. I think its probably harder for you than me because, you know, you youve got the whole i mean, there is a particular energy that comes off having an audience. But its like watching m. A. S. H. Without the laugh track. You kind of get another, you get another layer to it. Stephen i suppose so. M. A. S. H. Is one of the seminal pieces of television, youve got to say. Stephen of course. Im guessing if we were dependent on audience laughter we wouldnt have dived quite so far into dylans lyrics. Right, perhaps. But you know, the only thing i would do theres a little section above your head that probably could do with a little vase of flowers. No, the other side. Stephen here . It looks a little it looks a little bit like your wife has told you, you are not sleeping in our bed anymore and you have to sleep in this room. It looks a little sad. Stephen im curling up and im going to get into one of the cubby holes here. Yeah, and it looks like you have never used that desk. Have you . Stephen i have never have you ever paid a bill . Stephen used this desk. I have paid a bill but i have never used this desk. Hey hi its time for her to go to bed. Shes in her pajamas as well. Stephen thanks for sharing your mom. Bye. Bye. Stephen good night. Good night. Stephen thanks so much for being here. So lovely to see you again. Stay safe. Thank you, thanks. Bye, take care, byebye. Stephen new episodes of mrs.
