On the structures destroyed at least 49. Structures have been burned and and about half are holmes baby 21. They think our residential buildings, nobo b hurt though the entire town of guys are ville is still under that mandatory Evacuation Order and thats because they say it is not safe to return back to that community there worry about the risk of more fires breaking out from the embers now luckily today, the winds will be pretty calm. So theyll be able to get a better handle on it today but then were supposed to have more winds whipping up tomorrow james yeah in fact lets take a look at the map keep you updated on the situation with both the evacuations and also the fired words burning right now what we have here is an overlay of 2 bits of information the area thats in red here that is the evacuation zone and as we showed you yesterday comes right up against one oh one. Which travels this corridor here and guys are ville is located right there and weve got again that entire city shut down dont try and go back because even though today might be a calmer day. The winds pick up starting tomorrow and they dont want to have to trying to read evacuate you once more so just heed the warnings of the Sonoma County sheriffs deputies patrolling the roads telling people is not safe to return because the fire still actively burning and thats whats indicated here outlined in yellow, that is the fire zone where the hottest elements are burning right now and as you can see with the satellite view underneath this is awfully rugged terrain a lot of steep hills a lot of steep canyons and a lot of dense vegetation which is why ground crews are having a tough time theyre doing what they can with the bulldozers and hand crews. But it really is an air attack situation where weve got aircraft and helicopters doing air drops and theyll resume that come daylight daria. Thanks live cowboys will tran is live near the fire lines in Sonoma County and will how are the conditions out there right now. James and you you touched upon it at the last hour about good news, bad news, the good news is its not windy as we saw yesterday so thats one of the biggest opnents for firefighters, but the bad news is that means the wind and that the lack of when should say is not moving the smoke, so it is awful breathing out at this location and you talked also about homes and buildings just destroyed area. Let me show you one of them 21 of the 49 buildings that went up in flames that this this home didnt even stand a chance. It is just decimated like a bomb hit it when a fire. The kim k fire rush through this area tore through the trees the dry vegetation and ultimately got to the home on wednesday night. It exploded says so quickly but in the overnight, just from wednesday to thursday winds as strong 60 Miles Per Hour. Got the acreage up to 10 fat 1000 acres fortunately firefighters through so much so quickly at them that right now it is 16,000 acres could be a lot worse, especially when we saw the huge flames in the overnight hours from wednesday to thursday. They have 13 100 firefighters at this and they do expect a call for more backup that by late this morning we possibly could have as many as 2000 firefighters from all across the state racing to guys of ill area to try to contain the fire. There are many firefighters still on the front lines of what theyre doing now is having covered fires in the past us they want to be careful because when its dark they dont want to get hurt. But they did or the overnight hours trying their very best for containment lines and the aircraft you can see this video. The aircraft will be back up in the air as soon as the sun comes up they dont use in the overnight hours for safety. But because its such a remote area it is not often busy road that it takes aircraft to get to that location to dump a lot of the fire retardant down to that area. 5 contained, but we do know at any moment now james and area cal fire well have an update and we will try to get you the very latest numbers. But the good news is one number want to pass along to you. 0 0 People Killed and 0 people that we have heard so the fires and no reports of m anyone missing, great news about that change starting all right, thanks a lot. Well. Opg sent a report to the California Public Utilities Commission saying that there was a transmission outage in the fire area less than 10 minutes before the fire started that report also said that there was a broken piece to one of their pg e transmission towers where that fire started the utility says the power was turned off to the distribution lines that go to peoples homes and businesses that was all done before the fire started, but they did not e energized the transmission lines. Those of those much larger lines and towers that run across the ridge lines because they say the weather conditions didnt warrant at the wind speeds werent high enough to trigger shutdowns of those much larger lines. Pg e seo is now defending that decision. Now pg e says it will work with cal fire to determine if their equipment was in fact the cause of the fire. Lets go back to the snow and see whats going to happen that here closer into San Francisco if youre are in there the all the way down towards at the city. Its not going to go this this wind is not going to blow the smoke farther south is it like this south the south bay or. Should be staying fight in the day, so could have an impact on the soth latest smoke up maps are showing that the smoke is going to gradually drift its way further and further southward i was checking our actual latest model just moments ago, and it was showing it drug further southward now so its really that good spreading a lot and a lot of signs are showing that it should just sit with us throughout the course of the day today so today only worsen tomorrow with the smoke because tomorrow the winds pick up just so tomorrows going to start pretty gross and then the winds pick up and so that will help with the smoke at least its not going to help with is the obvious firefighting conditions at kinkaid crews are definitely going to enjoy the fact that winds are calmer today that is the big factor that should hopefully at least give a chance to get the upper hand honorably says in northern wnside of the lighter winds is now that smoke is just going to sink on into the bay area and its going to stay with us you really get a notice smoke evident in the horizon into the late afternoon, especially youre going to have a really colorful sunday is set tonight because of it, but you may just want to stay inside a bit more than not today because air quality is going to be so pour. Temperatures are going to be just as hot as yesterday across the bay to so that may have kept inside anyways north bay certainly has the worst air quality but were all going to see an impact across the bay today as far as winds go we do remain calm today. Daryn i were just talking about that this is good news for going to stay calm tomorrow morning. But tomorrow afternoon we start to see winds kicking up and by sunday morning. It is very windy out there. Sonoma. Petaluma Santa Rosa Calif so good just a few areas. Theyre going to be looking at winds regularly gusting into the range of 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour in peak. Wind gusts topping out above 70 Miles Per Hour in some cases so should be no surprise the high wind watches and fire weather watches taking Effect Tomorrow night likely to see red flag warnings in there too for similar areas as to what we saw yesterday inland east bay all across the north bay and our wooded areas on the peninsula on a different know we actually did see Something Else going on this morning. The 3 point oh earthquake reported just polled just before 07 00am a right around lake tahoe. Again we did have that 3 point right outside of the bay area for those of you that may be heading that direction this weekend to get out of the bad air just something to note this morning minor just to our east temperatures in the 60s and 70s to start this morning youre noticing its cooler in some areas, especially the north bay by the afternoon though nothing cool about it. Its upper 80s to low 90s for daytime highs today. Robin, lets check in on our hot spot in San Francisco. We have more lanes blocked now. Northbound 2. 80 right around san jose avenue. This is where van flipped over so weve gone from having just one lane closed to several lanes close now leaving only one lane open once again its northbound 2. 80 san jose avenue crews are on scene and youre back up as quickly spilling out to 19 so youre going to be stuck in that traffic as you leave daly city making your way towards San Francisco. Heres a quick peek at the bay bridge traffic, not so bad for friday busy from the bottom of the maze through the tunnel there getting on to the suspension but still under 15 minutes for your apple james r. All right robin, thank you lets get back to a breaking news story this morning. The issue of pg es you just saw in johns report weve got high winds coming this weekend and that course brings up the fear and the question among a lot of folks will my power be shut off as a preventative measure by pg to prevent wildfires. Well, heres the updated. A map that they offer showing the areas where there im most concerned you can see the areas colored in lot of the north bay a lot of the peninsula hills, the hills surrounding the south bay and of course the east bay in fact, lets zoom in just a little bit into the east back want to break down. What information weve been told so far by pg name. A lot of the hills in and around oakley highway 24. I should say oakland not oakley that oakland highway 24 the Berkeley Hills all the way down towards fremont in Alameda County you could have your power shut off anywhere from 05 00pm saturday night through 02 00pm monday again thats the latest from pg e as for neighboring Contra Costa County. Most of the areas impacted will be those hills up and around martinez lafayette down the 6. 80 corridor particularly down last rumpus area and then of course the foot hills around mount diablo those communities could see their power shut off as early as 10 00pm saturday night through 02 00pm monday afternoon thats a long bit of time to be without power for widen the shot here as we wrap up this quick update just to again remind everybody that we dont have times yet for the north bay or the peninsular southee outages were still waiting for pg need to confirm those all weve been given is just a general indication for east bay right now and again were talking late saturday night to maybe monday afternoon where the power could be out. But even then it could be another 24 to 48 hours as they slowly roll people back on onto the grid, so this be prepared for an extended period of potential a power loss started feeling. James, you said in the give you a time in the north bay for me they just said stand by. Right it could be within 36 or 48 hours and it will last about that long and then they have these tips. They offer of what you can do right now so that you can prepare if you lose power this weeke and heres a look at some of what they say talk to the doctor have a plan for any medication that you need to keep cool for example, if you dont have the fridge working medical devices. If they need power. What are you going to do. They are talk your garage door and that not going open electric so youve got to figure out you have to read the directions vick got to get that thing open because they all have a manual function. Emergency kit ready to go that means flashlights, i know. Had the flashlights for the batteries are probably old so you want to check that. Definitely of some food always plenty of power bars and stuff like that water is good get it in the big jugs, you know in that way because its the little bottles are a waste of money and then have cash because if the banks are open in 8 hands are open and you might need to pay cash for something. If you have have a generator make sure its working properly and better yet go to their web site because. Like what kind of generated you buy. You know is biggest it too small how do you do if they have all these instructions about 8 and never use a generator inside thats another they say right on there always make sure that outside so all kinds of stuff really information especially if you want to take that extra step with the whole generator, whether or not thats for you make sure to download the kron 4 mobile app to in advance because that way when you can watch the t v you can watch your mobile device. You want to have that all charged up and ready to go and have the cell phone batteries, you know the kind that you can do that extra charging with because then your cell phone could last you know a couple of days. So by the way that kron app is free weve lifted the pay wall ever since the fire broke out. So get that you get 24 7 streaming news cvverage without commercials. And on the kron 00 04am morning news. Weve got more coverage more angles what about all the people that are out of their homes is still right now waking up. In shelters or have gone to stay with relatives will have the latest on the folks in guys or villain why they cant go back in even though looks like their homes are still fine. There are those who will say that youre too fat. Too skinny. Too hard. Too soft. Too old. Too much. Too unexpected. Too limited. And to them we say too bad. Because at kaiser permanente, we believe that everyone deserves the right to thrive. Sonoma county look all that smoke. This is a fire that is just outside of guys are ville is burned 16,000 acres and its only 5 contained. But they are sending in more resources. So theyre going to be a hit that hard today because the winds have died down so thats some good news. They were also able to get up and give us a count of the number of structures that oave been destroyed 49. And that includes a less than half are homes about 21 homes. They think are included in those structures that burned down but at least nobody has been hurt. In the fire. And again. No homes have burned in guys are real they are evacuated. It because remember how heavy the winds were and they were blowing embers down the Russian River area else. They still are watching out for hot spots and theyre watching for when to pick up tomorrow. They dont want to risk anything. So youre not allowed to go back to that area. In people might think oh well, you know the areas find when to call their there reading it so that means a lot of people are still in the shelter and may have to stay there. All weekend long at the winds pick up in the threat goes back up as we head into saturday with a crime for us christine it take actually standing by right now shes at that event center. The healdsburg with more on whats going on there in the people stories that shes running across christina. Just some incredible stories of people that something you always see when youre covering fires. Her wrote stories and stories of people who are were still working on rebuilding of their lives after extreme devastation now very particularly with this fire. A lot of people here at the Evacuation Center who say this really feels like deja vu because they experience a Sonoma County fires just 2 years ago. So again theres a lot of heartbreak for p people who are saying here at the hills were Community Center people. Food just 2 years ago experience something just like this. But i do actually have some good news when it comes to the Evacuation Center here. They have not yet hit capacity and they actually have over 60 cots available for people who may need to go ahead and stay throughout the day or tomorrow night. So that is some really good news when it comes to the Evacuation Centers. Actually just said the 6. 30 hours when practice started to more people are storing inside and more people are starting to leave and come in and the numbers here with the amount of youre saying if you back a shunt center are about to change because of you know a lot of people are going to work right now. There actually are some more resources going show you what those are a few here are anemic an Evacuation Center there are 2 different Evacuation Centers for you weve got the santa rosa Veterans Memorial building as well as the Sonoma County fairgrounds now the Sonoma County fairgrounds is open and available also for people with large animals someone who maybe havent has large animal like a horse. There are resources there for you as well and then of course with all of these fires come School Closures with evacuation warnings and everything of the sort we have 4 different ones here in the area to ga ahead and share with you weve got out sander Valley School district closed today. Guys youre bill unified School District work on as well as key shia School District. Those you see up on the screen. Im going to school today he will not be in session and also those are areas again areas that are either under evacuation or are under evacuation warnings. Again i want to remind everyone there are resources here not only that pills for Community Center 5. The 10 arrests of Veterans Memorial as well noma county fairgrounds for now reporting live in hillsborough christina tetreault. More about whats ahead coming our way winds that are the smoke. Thats certainly going to coming our way that probably before the winds do you smoke today, winds tomorrow night and smoke is going to linger with us tomorrow morning to good weekend just to stay inside. Its cool spot to because its going to be hot to start at so we smoke impacts chance for firefighters to get the upper hand on the blaze. Hopefully at least before winds pick up on into tomorrow. Lets take a look at where were sitting this morning Golden Gate Bridge is Crystal Clear out there. We do see that smoke up in the north bay already youre probably not noticing it so much across the bay just yet. But you will be looking at it this afternoon into tonight likely to be lighting up the sunset tonight making for really pretty veal but you might want to be inside not enjoying the sunset so much with help or air quality is about to be 50s 60s and 70s for your current temperatures berkeley been are warm sp throughout the morning while some of our cooler spots have been up in the north bay like fairfield santa rosa in petaluma word is noticeably cooler than yesterday was part of the reason for this is winds are a lot calmer. Its very dry out there so that allow temperatures to really drop overnight so a chilly start to the morning. Its going remain dry this afternoon. But its also going to remain calm and that is good news for firefighters. Tomorrow we start com and start smoky too. But tomorrow afternoon into evening is when winds really kick up again and look at where were going to be headed into sunday morning. Its going to be saturday nights all day sunday into monday that we look at very powerful winds just how long were looking at them for and how widespread they are is why we could be seeing so many problems and not just for the north bay there but all across the bay area. It is going to be windy with north bay winds topping out at 70 Miles Per Hour east bay winds likely getting up to 50 Miles Per Hour. So we do have high wind watches taking Effect Tomorrow night as well as fire weather watches which as we all know likely to become red flag warnings at some point as we start to see those winds pick up tomorrow night as for temperatures today still very hot very similar to yesterday we saw 3 records broken in the bay area yesterday wouldnt be surprised to see a few more broken today with upper 80s and low 90s tomorrow, not going to be quite as hot and sunday, even though it is our windiest a is actually going to be a lot cooler so many people are going to be losing power. Theres one comforting thing at least its not going to be 90 degrees outside it will be a lot cooler monday and tuesday winds calming down staying cool and a much nicer week ahead of us next week after this weekend. It is said and done. Check out the caltrans camera over highway 2. 80 it showing you the mess that we have. On the lefthand side that is traffic heading north out of daly city to San Francisco you can see is just barely moving there, its all because of this this crash and ive been tracking for you the overturned. I told you about northbound 2 80 at san jose avenue. Theres only one lane open to squeeze by and thats causing major delays out of daly city backing up to highway one and then after that its going to be wide open continuing to San Francisco because everybody stuck in this nasty back up so a special Traffic Alert remains in place for that crash involving a van that flipped on its side. Heres a look at your drive time look at that 43 minutes thats terrible to get from daly city to downtown San Francisco. So remember if you our closer highway want to want want to make your way over there and use that instead that is another option 7 minutes over to the 80 split checking the bay bridge traffic 80 west into San Francisco and its slow from the bottom. Of the maze was very quiet of the maze was very quiet. 6, 7, 8 of the maze was very quiet big dreams start with small steps. But dedication can get you there. So just start small. Start saving. Easily set, track and control your goals right from the chase mobile® app. Chase. Make more of whats yours®. Just updatdd the numbers that kinkaid fire at actually more than doubled in size overnight now it is close to 22,000 acres 21,900 of the specific and will look for maybe even an update on that number one sunrise happens. And the aircraft get above and get another assessment on it. Coming up next with the kron 4 Sarah Stinson shes live up there. Near the fire in geyser field getting look from her friend Vantage Point to whats happening at this very moment, well be right back. Announcer 5 million kids use ecigarettes. Its an epidemic fueled by juul with their kidfriendly flavors. San francisco voters stopped the sale of flavored ecigarettes. But then juul, backed by big tobacco, wrote prop c to weaken ecigarette protections. The San Francisco chronicle reports prop c is an audacious overreach, threatening to overturn the ban on flavored products approved by voters. Prop c means more kids vaping. Thats a dangerous idea. Vote no on juul. No on big tobacco. No on prop c. And the breaking news that were following well 2 angles basically the fire burning in Sonoma County and the winds expected to pick up so pg es planning more outages for the bay area to kick in pretty soon so you got to be prepared for both were talking about the effects of the fire to with the wind dying down that smoke is really like hanging over the sonoma area that also is going work its way down to the bare so lets get you updated on both fronts will begin with kate fire. Again appear geyser which is still by the way within the mandatory evacuation zone so nobody in the town of guys are bills allowed to go back as this fire now has grown and the latest number in the last 15 minutes from cal fires that is now 21,900 acres in size and still only 5 containment so at this time yesterday it was 10,000 acres. And now weve seen it more than double. So whether those are the newest numbers, 21,900 acres burned 49 structures that they have counted so far that have been destroyed youre looking at video of some of the homes that were wiped out by this theyre thinking 21 homes were among those structures destroyed and the town of guys are ville so far is on skis but everybody is still under mandatory Evacuation Orders because they do not want. Anybody risking their lives are just for stuff because you know they dont know yesterday we saw the winds picking up a lot of those embers were blowing around and thats what they dont want to see anybody in the danger zone so geyser ville still off limits dont forget to the winds as weve been mentioning expected to pick up once again so we could see. The fire flare up and reinvigorate come saturday. They want a bunch of people in town that they didnt have to force back out again so they want everybody to stay away for their own safety for the time being heres another heres the map showing us 2 things the evacuation zone which is this larger area colored in pale orange. Theres guys are ville and you can see one oh one in both directions, north and south. Within that evacuation zone, so you cant even get near geyser bill right now, but we always red dots that is where the fires currently burning and the size of the dots correlate to the heat the intensity of that particular fire in you can see theres not one giant fire that theyre battling its a bunch of smaller fires. But you can see some of the fires are burning right now the heart of this thing, but there are so many fires burning right now its such rugged terrain that its going to take them a long time to get their hands fully around this again containing only 5 right now with the a ground battle an awfully tough slog with a lot of steep terrain dense vegetation. The air battle is whats hopefully going to make the difference today now that the winds have calmed down number of aircraft and a number of helicopters that will be doing drops and hopefully we can get a lot of this snuffed out before the winds pick up again. Lets hope for the best are you all right, lets get out there and check out fire lines now kron 4 Sarah Stinson is live in geyser ville just not too far. From where the fire first broke out and actually its not. I keep wanting to say guys reveal that thats not actually the town where we saw these homes go down. And guys are ville on this is one of the homes that burned down this is a a home off of geysers road. You can see the destruction all zoom in its just devastating to see this home completely burn and down. And just one of 49 structures that burned in the fire. They do believe about half of those to be holmes. Here but this is not fog. This is heavy smoke. Actually the visibility is terrible out here. And im sure that it will be a part of the rip today for people who were fired the firefighters. Hard to see anything out here. You have to come up really close to something that actually see it driving to geyser ville the town is looking on an impacted, but there is a lot of charred land around homes and vineyards yesterday fire crews worked quickly to put out the flames. Every which direction from the fast fast when in the afternoon air drops were made above to help fire crews on the ground. The 50s is actually quite cold and the wind is very much wild. These are ideal conditions for firefighters as they continue to make a fire line or and affected in burned areas. Seen a couple hot spots flare up. And ive seen firefighters with their big rig engines by house is ready to defend them if need be of course thats the First Priority is making sure no more houses burn down more buildings, keeping the public safe keeping that mandatory evacuation going and also creating that fire lines that they can get the containment numbers up funds cal fire as a complete handle on the fire they feel like they are making progress then they can decide when they will lift that mandatory evacuation. The goal is to get the containment up. In the meantime this air quality. Really because otherwise your throat start hurting. Your chest starts hurting. And 95 mask on right now. And i i dont know if you can really get a grasp for it, but theres vineyards behind me very close and you should be able to see them Crystal Clear, but you can just because that. Were hoping to get an update from cal fire. Out to sea with the progress has been made overnight. Obviously they said 5 still contain. Want to get a better idea what are they what they plan on doing hows it going with that fire. I mean the best way to describe it. Craziest thing ever and never seemed is wrapping around. But didnt burn the vineyard and then some vineyards were i did so were hoping to get an update from them about what they to do to get this fire line. More concrete so that people can eventually come in here and see if their home is Still Standing and start the healing and the recovery efforts. I live in geyser bill Sarah Stinson and. And as you said you were like oh youre in guys available guys are bills not touched were talking about the downtown area, youre good maybe 4 miles or so away in those more spotted hillside areas also i wanted you check, remember that big mansion that you saw that burned down. I was reading that the Kendall Jackson family home. And i wonder if that was their estate you know yet do you know if that was that the Jackson Family okay. Interview to the robert young. The second that man he told me that theyre right there friends with the Kendall Jackson family and that the Jackson Family home did burn down thats what he told me i confirm that the family over house fire yeah oh yeah, he told me that the Jackson Family home burned down that wasnt the mention the show ok their houses up on the ridge. And yeah was yeah, was yeah, the we have a statement from the Jackson Family that theyre fine but that that that home to burn down. So. The winds right big question Going Forward thats the unknown variable that could either flare this fire up once again bring smoke to the bay area could cause Power Outages for a lot of folks in the bay so everythings really hanging on the wind forecast and its still on track to be pretty strong yet and everything is lining up to show that this is going to be a big wind event. A couple weeks ago and the winds that we had there are pretty spotty rise like couple of areas where it picked up this one looks to be really widespread and so the north going to get to heavy winds but the east bay is also going to see it too and thats why those Power Outages are really encompassing a lot of the bay area. Todays our break. A chance for crews to hopefully gethe upper hand on the kinkaid fire. Continue to try to gain a. Control of that blaze which are now over 20,000 acres. Air quality is going to be a concern today, the really the only downside of lighter winds is with high pressure. You have sinking air so the smoke that was polluting out towards the coast is now just going to sink right into the bay and gradually pull into the bay so we have a mix of what will be smog and high ozone levels levels which were already going make for the not so great of air quality today. Now mixed with smoke and those fine particulates are actually even more irritating for your respiratory system so its a really good idea to stay inside today. Youre probably didnt want to venture out there too much anyways with temperatures as warm as theyre about to be. But today with the hot temperatures and with air quality is poor as it is going to be not the best one to be out there the worst of air quality issue would expect will be in the north bay, but we will all have an impact today as we make our way especially into the afternoon you may not notice a just yet but youre going to pick up on that smell of smoke later on into the afternoon as for winds there com theyre going to remain calm overnight tonight into tomorrow morning tomorrow night is when they start to pick up again and then into sunday we just remain windy all through the day on into monday tuesday thats well over 24 hours with strong winds across the day as i was telling you the north bay is going to see the to have the strongest of winds. Sonoma calistoga Petaluma Santa Rosa winds regularly gusting into the 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour range. Winds topping out anywhere from 70 mile per hours or above especially in those mountain tops and then the east bay to checking in with some very strong winds, especially come sunday, so this means likely to be red flag warnings were already seeing a fire weather watch is ahead of tomorrow and then were going to see high wind watches to bowl taking Effect Tomorrow evening. Lasting all day sunday into monday morning due to dry conditions. Dry tinder temperatures but most importantly, the return of the strong winds as for today, daytime highs still very hot. The hottest day left in your forecast just as hot as yesterday for much of us upper 80s to low 90s for your daytime highs today, the biggest difference today is that will be calm and it will be smoky compared to yesterdays clear and windy conditions. Thank you john tracking residual delays on 2. 80 its a mess right now leading daly citk heading to n francisco check out the back of we pulled up the caltrans camera you can see the folks stuck and all the heavy traffic after are overturned crash. And it has not recovered so was northbound to 80. It was near san jose avenue and it hats several lanes shut down so they finally got it out of the way, but its backed up well be on highway one now so leave extra early of 2. 80 is your commute were checking the drive time and youre looking at 33 minutes to make it to downtown San Francisco. But one oh one from the peninsula to San Francisco is doing justine a peek at the bay bridge slow from at least the bottom of the maze but quiet on the upper deck and we have a crash wrapping up south one to one after the Robin Williams tunnel thats why its so heavy leaving sausalito its back to well be on spencer 41 minutes, thats why your drive time is high from novato to San Francisco, lot of folks stuck in that backup james all right robin thank you its the winds this weekend and the possible power shutoffs as a result is p gs looking to try prevent any wildfires that could break out here is the wider map and this is p gs map and the colored in all the areas that theyre concerned about you see large sections of the north bay of course with the fires already burning right now. The peninsula hills the south bay hills and of course the east bay as well in the targets of these power shut off with zoom in to the east bay because thats where were getting at least some indication for p g d as to when the shut off might happen. Weve been told by them that Fallon County which in quebec encompasses a lot of the east bay hills that back up into oakland down towards fremont and berkeley. They could be seeing power shut off by 05 00pm saturday through 02 00pm monday afternoon. So all of sunday and half of monday and then a neighbor in Contra Costa County were seeing similar conditions there with a lot of the hillier parts of Contra Costa County down there last drop us all those communities around mount diablo down near black hawk you could potentially see your power go off. 10 00pm saturday night. Not coming back on until least 02 00pm monday afternoon. So brace yourself for another plan power shut off weekend and its just going to be up to the chin used to when they can get that power restored it may not be as early as 02 00pm monday so be prepared to be without power for the extended period. And remember this time yesterday were showing you this first video we had yesterday morning it was 10,000 acres 5 contained right now theyve got a lot of work to do 49 structures destroyed and theyre going to do a lot at work today before the winds whip up tomorrow joining us on the phone right now to shed a little more light on the firefighting effort as it stands this morning is Tricia Austin with cal fire. These numbers will catch up in a minute there they are you can see how breezy it will be on into tomorrow night and eventually into sunday this is why we do have so many Power Outages likely for the north bay and the east bay and why we do have fire weather watches returning as well as high wind watches fire danger going to skyrocket along with those high winds gusting in the north bay high as 70 Miles Per Hour in exposed areas. Daytime highs today just as hot as yesterdays and with poor air quality today you want to plan some indoor activits get yourself to a cool spot avoid too much time outside especially if you know you do have some breathing conditions may be a respiratory conditions for some of younger kids and the older in the family on into tomorrow, some cooling temperatures but increasingly ndy stys windy through sunday.
