Structures that were able to be saved, i think theres a car a couple cars burned there and then look this home they were able to save that home. So they are trying to save homes as they continue to evacuate homes. James, yeah and those evacuation zones have changed a bit over the last 24 hours. Heres the y perspective. Again its still just an evacuation warning for a lot of the the coast leading out towards a highway one oh one. Thats the situation that you see in blue that we course have the mandatory evacuation zone in purple that is unchanged it still includes the town of geyserville and healdsburg and winds are as you can see here as we zoom in on the map. And again all those communities are still within the mandatory evacuation zone, not so much because the fire is actively burning in their direction but because its still very dangerous and they need those roads to move around and mobilize all the Fire Fighting equipment that they need when term we talk about active burn youre going to look for these red dots those are the most recent fires, a couple on the southern edge, but the majority of the activity has been out to the east bordering up on napa and so and lake county which is why theres a section of nap4 county now which includes calistoga thats under a evacuation warning and then to the north in lake county. We have a few zones have been activated to and theyre in an evacuation warning as well and you can see it stretches from far northern sections of the county line there between lake county and Sonoma County all the way down through cobb and then down closer to the fire still in and around middletown, where you can see as we zoom and the new fires that have erupted in the last 24 hours really are eating into that hillside that can that can next. Sonoma and lake county edging their way closer and closer towards middletown, which is why that communities in that evacuation warning zone today. Yeah, only people allowed in their media and fire teams and thats why kron fours will tran was able to get a look. From a place a lot of people cant be. Yesterday you were taking windy roads is pretty difficult to get where you are how about today. Today were on the street level which is why we can zoom in right now once the sun comes up. Well go back to that great Vantage Point just to show you above the fire and how it looks but right now you can clearly see the glow on the ridge and this is just above middletown. Hopefully its stays there. The sun should be up in about an hour from now and when the sun comes up. So will the aircraft. Let me show you video from yesterday this fire as they were fearful. It moved into lake county and metal town which is why the folks here. They have been told for the past couple of days, get your bags ready to go because at any moment the fire could explode and move down to the neighborhoods, forcing them to evacuate. Again and i say that again because a couple years ago they were on the front lines when middletown was forced to evacuate when the fires back in 2018 race npthrough this area causing firefighters to try to contain the lines at that particular time right now they are up on the hillside. Presumably sleeping to contain the fire lines fortunately it has not left the ridge line has not moved too much further what we saw yesterday but since is so remote james and area. You can hear the aircraft they have to fight it mostly from that the air dropping the fire retardant down to that location. Great news and we were told preemptively yesterday to get to middletown because everyone expected this place to be extremely windy. It is not windy this morning. So thankfully thats the case and usually over the past couple of days with the lack of when the air quality is horrible because the wind stays on top of us, but this morning guys human borough amateur as ive always said, breathing is not a problem but getting around stabbing could be a problem because power is out for most middletown, i see one area with a light is on i would assume that place has a generator but for a downtown middletown, we went there. The restaurants are closed and the businesses and the. Surrounding areas they are in the dark back to you all right, thanks a lot, well lot of people are like to get back into their evacuated homes see whats left and in some cases of downtown areas have been on top. By night you still cannot return weve got first christine to take actually talking to some of those evacuees that have been. A shelter there in Sonoma County. Whats the latest this morning, christina. So far this morning obviously its still very early so we do have hundreds and the back you leaves that are still sleeping here at the Sonoma County fairgrounds its one of the largest Evacuation Centers and its actually one of 9 a set up and actually if you can see behind me though we have some movement over here something thats been going on this morning that we havent really shown yet so far during this fire coverages these are a lot of the firefighters that are switching. Gears right now theyre in the middle coming from sleeping as well in some of the same areas of the evacuees are so right now so far this morning with say about 30 minutes weve had hundreds of firefighters, switching gears as i mentioned and going to sleep before leaving their sleeping quarters and going out help battle this blaze. Now theyve really goes to show how important these Evacuation Centers are this Evacuation Center specifically here at the their ground is so large it holds not only the evacuees also were First Responders and you think about it this is pretty the oneweek mark since firefighters have been battling this blaze as well the oneweek mark since a lot of evacuees have had to come here for different resources. So a lot of people, tired and i dont want to speak for anyone saying that anyone is necessarily discourage in this process, but as you can imagine what being an evacuee would be like someone whos lost almost everything but was unsure of where there home is theres a lot of an easy feelings there so couldnt hear from an evacuee right now. Dont be afraid. If you end having to come to shelter like i was because can be good. Thats a good experience so wakeup call for everyone to know that where this much away from not having anything. And just as that woman said theyre so close. Having their entire home something theyve built their entire life completely demolished show. Were hoping obviously is that these winds continue to die down firefighters continue to work so hard to bottle this place of it. Something else that has been on the minds of a lot of vacuum you so far that ive chatted with with. Throughout this process is of course. Unfortunately that does we p. And so far i do have an update from the Sonoma County sheriff that so far there been 3 arrests that have been made for north arise unauthorized access to the evacuation areas as was the 3 Police Reports for looting that been made and thats pretty much people that have been found are there is because if you think about it when a lot of people leave under evacuation orders their home is very vulnerable and people not going tensions knowing that that so right now test update from the snow county sheriffs and make sure have more information for you on that as well reporting live here in Sonoma County christina teatro kron 4 news, thanks a lot. Christine, a. And another problem is power. Rolling blackouts that p gs and posing on and the worry last night of course is that we have more community is thrown into the dark because of the winds luckily, they did not blow nearly as hard as peach and was worried and so for that reason because they cant monitoring it minute to minute. Theyve made decision not to turn off the power. In Alameda County in Contra Costa CountySanta Clara County san mateo county. And santa cruz counties and a lot of folks there went to bed last night wondering if the lights were going to be out when they woke up, but youre waking up this morning to power and you can see here on the map all the green indicators showing us that the power is a fully there for customers theres a few spots as you can see a few dots of purple here and there but those are what we believe are left over Power Outages from this past weekend. Work crews just havent had a chance to go and verify the lines yet before they could turn the power back on but going keep our fingers crossed that happens pretty quick. The north bay continues to be the problem and a headache for a lot of folks that are without power and in some cases out of their homes right now depending on the evacuation status of their community. You can see all around santa rosa, basically every community up and down one o one and throughout the wine country both for napa and sonoma counties and now leading into portions of lake county as well, although the power has a bit turn off their just yet but heres we zoom in closer see large sections the areas still dotted with intentional power shut off. The hope is now that the winds are calming down a bit that maybe pg can get out there and start turning the lights back on want to get crews out there to inspect the lines keep it to kron 4 will keep you updated on that front a course download the kron on app thats going to best way to let you know the minute we do know what the situation is with genie and its free thats the great news for you weve got weve removed the pay wall so you can have free access to that 24 7 new streaming service. Go to app store today and download that now and well get your squared the minute we know new information from pga names. John. Well james what were seeing this morning is a big improvement as far as air quality goes we can actually think some of those. A light winds and the shift in direction for just that we are seeing a light winds across the core of the bay not so much for the north bay obviously where winds are still of concern, but it did help to clear some of the haze that we had at the Golden Gate Bridge and all across the bay yesterday, some of our breezier spots to remain around the kincade fire such as in calistoga in sonoma, although petaluma and santa rosa have come down very nicely were just going to continue to come down for the remainder of the day ahead of us with calming winds the rest of the morning and by the afternoon. A nice calm afternoon. This is great news for the kincade fire right now whitman healdsburg on the commerce id already asked the in cloverdale looking close up on this when map still showing some breezy conditions in the vicinity as for the east bay, you did not lose power last night it was initially a something that was of concern but with winds not really kicking into gear as much as initially forecasted yeah, youre still have power this morning and winds are nice and light right now red flag warnings do still remain in effect because it is still breezy in a few spots in fact are mountaintops like mount diablo mount saint helene a have been clocking wind gusts as high as 40 Miles Per Hour. We do still have some low humidity so still be wary of high fire danger even though conditions are improving north bay youre going to see less yellow and orange indicating less and risk of extreme fire danger into the afternoon ahead of us 40s and 50s for your current temperatures at least for most of the bay, you head up into the north bay were so many of us with a are without power and were looking at temperatures right around freezing in Santa Rosa Petaluma and nevado see are waking up to a chilly house, especially if you dont have power by the afternoon ahead temperatures will be nice and comfortable a lot like yesterday you add in good air quality on top of this and id say a big improvement for a lot of the bay today. Robin. All right, thank you john, lets head over to a hot spot on the peninsula northbound one oh one after the woodside road exit this is as you work your way through redwood city. If you look over to the left you can see some activity an emergency crews still lingering theyre dealing with an injury accident involving an overturned vehicle now things are Getting Better at one point it was just a mess we have 4 lanes closed traffic squeezing by and one lane only now theyve managed to move all of this activity over to the right lane. So the right lane is the only lane thats blocked. But theres a singular place and it still stacking up traffic as you work your way out of menlo park into redwood city so something to be on the lookout for here it is on traffic tracker you see on nasty. That little backup is so take to 80 instead of northbound one on one north to 80 looks great continuing on up to San Francisco, heres a quick peek at the bay bridge traffic 80 west its already backed up through the bottom of the maze for very quiet on the upper deck and smooth for downtown San Francisco area. Thanks a 13 and still ahead well have the update on the king cake fire and take you out to see whats birth. And what is still threatened this morning as we are able to get into those evacuation zones that you can. Want to see what kind of damage has been done. Also. Wasnt damaged pg e shut your lights out were going to tell you who theyre going to repay. 6. 16 right now and as we continue to mount. Under the weather on the fire front glad that the winds didnt whip up quite as severely as they saw last night yeah thats the good news and were. Reaping the benefits of that this morning both on the firefighting front and also on the pga power shut off front as well. Lets a chat with on the phone right now meteorologist spencer 10 jun a with the National Weather service to help us understand more about the wind event that happened last night if theres anything else on the horizon. Mr. Tatchell thanks for joining us. A good morning. What was the biggest gust you got last night. So we did see a not 60 Miles Per Hour in some of the north hills. I got hear right the york isis. Healdsburg i got a gust up to 60 Miles Per Hour. Some of the valleys gust up about 25. I think its part of 30 miles hour not a top 20 last night. Happening yeah like it they were less powerful and there was a shorter duration that originally thought. I think that um we did expect the event to be not nearly as strong as the one over the weekend. So in terms of that that that can now. I think about as we expected. And when everybody expects plans. By evening and early overnight, and we are starting to the winds are decreasing thats pretty much what we expected. Good and thats all good news for the firefighters is there anything on the horizon are they working against the clock before another wind event or or do we look like were going to be on on stable ground at least come comes when it comes to the winds. Uh yes of this does look like the last when the vet after the near future. You know stuffy he wins and a the typical locations but nothing the magnitude that lately past couple offshore wind event. So that thats very good news for firefighters so. Nothing like the next 7 days. We dont in a major offshore wind event. So its only good news for in the firefighters and the kincade fire, but its good news for people who are nowhere near there who have found themselves plunged into darkness just because its windy. So what about. Level of winds too just areas around the bay, the east bay, the north and south they just areas that have seen their power. The winds were going to get really strong. Re still pretty much around the area that were not expecting strong wind. You know anywhere. Around the bay or for the next 7 days. So he also people world be able to get power back in you know he need a big loss for one events for from the next week. And im just curious with your interpretation can you see any farther out than we can as are any rain on the horizon for extended models are we looking dry for the foreseeable future. Surely you know next that made it 10 unfortunately, were not really chance of rain a self lee after the had off will start to turn this and said different weather patterns. But at least for the next 7 to days that is im looking very giant unfortunately no rain in the forecast. Okay, thanks so much. Spencer changin with the National Weather service. Well james he can see as far as it can be kerosene and no rain yet bank time now 6. 19 and and lets take a look this is were talking about the Power Outages and that there shouldnt be any more according to you you really look at the weather here. The people that are impacted. Purple but that looks a lot bigger than when you zoom in there right when you zoom in for example to the north bay, you can see that its much closer into where the fires burning then away from the fire was before was just wide on way down now you can see those areas impact are closer to the fire and it really is the north bay thats still seeing the brunt of these intentional power shut ypg. As we slide the map to reveal more the south you actually see look portions of Marion County in the green yeah, rate is only a few pockets now there are a little farther out towards the cozy valley towards the coast. And thats good news, yeah, and the east bay in the south bay of course in the peninsula seeing a lot more green as well this few holdouts. Those up small sections of purple whether pg lineman just havent had a chance to out there inspect those lines or theyre making some repairs that still have to see some work done before they can reenergize those lines. So thats the situation with the genie. The picture is Getting Better i guess maybe thats the headline you can take away from that graphic and then the headline. And this morning, the money. Show me money for some you not me tell the g 8 because the october 9th, wind event in the power shut up which was the first one they tried to do on a mass scale went so poorly. Governor gavin newsom is convinced pg need to actually offer you a little bit of a reimbursement in your bill. Utility companies and tories lee refused to reimburse customers for outages but now they say that each customer will get a 100 credit these are residential customers if your business get 200 and 50. Utilities in the past never credit. Customers for these disruptions we call for rebates. And abc e o just communicated with our staff that theyre going to support. Some so were being extremely aggressive and respectfully we didnt wait still this moment. So are doesnt mean everybody all excited because this is a president they never give money back oh my gosh it again its only for the october 9th power shut off and only because they admit they bungled the communications here their web site was down washington. The coronation with local. If you cause a line you couldnt get anything right so the only for that so its really nothing to be a power which is what youre experiencing right now or what you had yesterday before you credit for that, at least get a Little Something for one here october. Yeah, i was. State lawmakers are introducing policies to avoid power shut off in the first place when that be nice. They have proposed to put all hold on the states real Energy Requirements to get electric Companies Access to more money. So they can eke a pit repair and maintain their equipment and safety without without raising your rate. So you wouldnt pay for the government would heres how republican lawmakers say right now pg e spent 2. 4 billion a year. Because theres a state law requiring them to buy renewal of power in comparison, the only spend 1. 5 billion to update their equipment. Pg e seo has said that it could take a decade before they able to harden the grid enough to avoid these power shutoffs were seen the money that you guys are already collecting from us instead of spending over here. Spend over here on infrastructure. So this gets safer. Were being told 10 this this told double. Democratic lawmakers are calling on state regulators to temperley appoint a public administrator to oversee pg management by testing the companys Financial Health safety and reliability both of these proposals are going to be considered but not until legislature goes back to business in sacramento and that in january. Well continue to deal with what we that Power Outages and the fire thats burning in santa rosa these are new pictures as we seemed olena north and this is the view. And this constantly update so this is still a view you can still see an active fire burning and its a large one as we said 76,000 acres theres also that fire burning in Southern California too much smaller that only about 600 acres. But its also doing quite a bit of damage because that burning. Close to Populated Areas as well bell air. And by the getty center is a very pricey area and so this is along a 4 o 5 freeway most of you see how close it is. Has stuck to one side of the freeway. The side that is effective those people have been evacuated its burned more than 600 acres so far. 15 contained, 12 homes have been destroyed. You can see some of the destruction that its done there. But there are 7,000 homes are under mandatory evacuation right now its beginning a lot of publicity. Because this is a real rich and famous type area you got lebron james and his family know stars are out of their homes. And just you know these mansions have gone up in flames only 8 of them, but when you see fire burning that close to the moral 5 crazy and they figured out the cause and as we grumble about pga shutting off power. Well power was active. It was windy. In this area. A tree limb hit a power line and that sparked this getty so theres a case where was sparked by power lines that had been they were fully active. Weve got continuing coverage of the latest on the power shut off in the bay area. Nd the weather conditions as we talk about it. Cross the lines there good news. Yes, so thats something nice that we havent and in the past most well laundry. Heres how you do it. Spray and scrub anything with a stain. Soak your nasty jersey. It stinks wash the really dirty clothes separately. Remember hard work builds character tide pods with upgraded 4in1 technology unleash a foolproof clean in one step. Next time try bounce wrinkle guard dryer sheets. Just toss it in the dryer to bounce out wrinkles. We dried these shorts with bounce wrinkle guard, and a pair without. The bounce wrinkle guard shorts have fewer wrinkles and static, and more softness. Its the worlds first mega sheet that does the job of three dryer sheets. It also comes in unscented. If you dont love bounce wrinkle guard, well give you your money back. In Sonoma County yeah, so again the acreage did grow but not a whole lot. Its now just a little over 76,000. Acres in size, but the really positive news is that firefighters have been able to maintain that 15 containment despite the growth of the fires, yeah, so its only grown like for maybe 400 acres, but theyve maintained and held the lines at 15 just like yesterday. They are getting a better look though at the number of homes and structures that have burned in this. And right now we have a count 189 structures destroyed. 86 you can see one here where homes. Now the majority of the new bern thats happened has been burning on the eastern side of the fire towards lee county in napa county. But were also still monitoring the situation on the other side of the fire that came dangerously close to places like healdsburg and winds are and thats been in some cases sat assignment for Sarah Stinson this mornings to drive around and see what effect the fire has had on those community thats a process that takes a while and uh its you know its a its a shes literally driving and looking. Because you cant get into those neighborhoods so stay tuned for that charity showed us one house get out the address and everything that was a total loss and these are new a thermal imaging picture so thats overnight. What theyre having to deal with this is from saturday but overnight they dont stop working on the fire. It just obviously they scaled back. But in in this last night they were able to really hold the line. Now lets get back into the fire zone where youre not allowed. But media and firefighters are yeah so lets go to Sarah Stinson find out where she is this morning what shes seeing sarah. Thats been really intense driving in the dark trying to find anything that was damaged on fire and as showed you the last hour should do a burned out home. Now looking at a burned down businesses actually burning as we speak you can. Let me zoom in the whole building just collapsed. Your audio but we still got the video hold on here sarah. Its pretty dark. We could hear it better than we could see it. It did that sound it sounded like a flare up to me like a tree that caught fire but she said it means shes real closeup that oh that was a collapse. So crashing of the roof. Theyre the side of the roof crashing in on the structure in the thing on try reconnect with her signal in a second. And bringing those pictures in the meantime let me show you the area where she is and what the situation is generally overall will come back to watch on a second, but lets zoom in into the area of healdsburg and windsor where sarah is this morning and as we push in on the map. Oh i think we have reestablished saying lets go back sarah. Yes, of the Building Collapse and then and the camera just one out but. This building just collapsed, im actually in calistoga right now you can see the flames burning right now i found out through google that this is. College called leave now. Its at 1, 1, 6, 4, 0, highway one 28 you can hear all sorts of pops and things collapsing from this building as i saying before cut out. Firefighters arent necessarily in there because bridge that leads to the building is very unstable, so they do have a hose out there but as you can see, i mean it is burning and collapsing as we speak trying to brighten it up for you been telling news very dark out here. So as i said this is an alternative college basically i was reading online they set you up studying abroad. Couple months and india. You do an internship and its a whole academically peer type of program and its here in calistoga right off of highway one 28. It is so dark but that is a chimera no threat there if you can see it and then theres all sorts of brush all along here this is highway one 28 the ramp. And you look out and you can see that is where the building is and the flames hand right there so this has been burning for some time now and theres a lot of firefighters on scene. But as i said they just cant get to because the bridge is very narrow very unstable and they want to put themselves at risk, especially when they see that this building is already collapsed. Look at the the area that you are does it seem like this is a spot. Theyre like its pretty far from the main fire line. That is steadily been shoot too. I dont know because its so dark out here its really hard to get a grasp for it, but i would tell you that probably is just something that spread to hear this fire is incredible the way it is position in the way it has spread it is a. Is crazy to see because youll see some parts of burn and then other parts that havent and this fire traveled in a with the wind as we saw that first night, especially live here in the morning news. And we saw travel all over the place and its been going on for nearly a week now, and its traveled so far east that were here in calistoga so come youre in geyserville on highway one 28 before so it is trying what it was and as we know, you know will tran is up by the fire lake county so. I mean its troubled way down a similar road. Because i dont know this area so well im getting to know it to this coverage, yeah, but yeah have to continue to fall this is clearly you know college. Sure a lot of people have been too its a way to have a leap here but also be productive during that leap here and now as we can see this building is. And collapsing, you know what i think this is the point james and sarah listening to that. This is why people cant go back and i know weve had a lot of rest of residents are frustrated sarah saying you know meyer is not touch. Why cant go back ia thats exactly why the media is allowed and here you are driving around seeing conditions still be perfectly fine you made it there no problem and suddenly this out of the blue is on fire. Yeah thats exactly right in that is good for people to know if youre in Evacuation Center stay with a friend. I would say that you know spot fires are happening everywhere flareups are having every everywhere and you really never know whats going to happen so its really for the peoples safety. Absolutely but you said, even though we cant see them that there are crews already there. I know the other day you called fire crews to a home that caught fire but in this case they were already there. Yeah, theyre hiking it right now theyre hiking and hiking in right now actually. So you see say yes i do here. Yes, i do flashlight to cure it is in the middle of the darren hiking on in school one of flames theyre going to try to do what they can but it sounds our guys any sleep. Yeah and the roof caved in so that probably not much they can do. But there they are. Pretty impressive to see the Fire Fighting now is making sure that it doesnt spread right, just trying contain it to just that structure because there is a lot of vegetation around that area. I mean which looking at it on the satellite view that particular but you know building is just the one building. You know leap your College Preparatory up facility. But its surrounded by just heavy vegetation on all sides of this is that section one 28. Annexed yeah that connects healdsburg into you know calistoga in this is that windy stretch that goes through the hills, connecting those 2 areas. I and i have to imagine if it if it should get beyond the borders of that particular campus. I mean theres so much ed that it could just burned through the name they want to make sure that doesnt happen. It looks like 3, 4, and you see where their states guys incident on the other side of my car. I said okay, i see so they came from down the lr. All right, thank you very much there and of course she came across that is shes been shes going trying to so theres her car theres the truck. So has walked rain from there and its hard to make out, but shes surrounded by hills on either side just nothing that dense trees and vegetation and this was kind of the only Vantage Point you can see through all of that to the actual structure that was burning. Think about how scary it is frankly was sarah said you know it is shes you know its in the dark uh shes in a fire zone, yeah, and shes looking towards the buildings that have already been burned and they hear one burns right before our eyes so. It just does again show you danger of spot fires even though the winds died down over the weekend. Sorry night. Even though they die down since just you know since last night this can still happen. And i want to show a thank you very much for that sara ask the control room maybe bring up that satellite picture once again because i want to show people of the area which is that we put that read icon right over top of the coaching and just a small one building. Preparatory facility. But as we widen out. Thats one 28 that winds through the hills keep widening out yes healdsburg to the Lafayette Calistoga to the right and keep wiping out because i want to reveal middletown which will come into view at the top of your screen. Once we go live a fact weve got to keep going out is something the fire us. Its burning down where she is right keep earning out there. Middletown just came into view towards the upper right hand corner of your screen. That is where kron fours will tran is standing by because the fires been eating its way through the hillside between sarahs location and his location as well as hes on well as signs of that county this thing when you look at the people understand square miles sometimes better than acres a 118 square miles. You know if you just put it in perspective, i looked it up. The Square Footage of San Francisco right you could fit 2 and a half San Franciscos in the area thats already burned so far. And its still growing will up there on the screen. In middletown so will what are you seeing from your Vantage Point. Ive seen the fire but more importantly, im seeing the fire on the ridgeline james and darya and thats the good news that staying there and not moving down from the ridge down the hill and into town so the firefighters have done such a great job keeping the flames at that location because its dark you can see the glow on the hillside and the sun will be up in about an hour from now and thats when we will see the airdrops that we showed you all yesterday morning. This is an area that is extremely dry. Fortunately, it is not windy. And thats why right now the people are are allowed to stay here. But when you talk about it all morning james and darya the evacuation warnings meaning get your bags ready to go at a moments notice in case you have flee from this area because the fire could be moving down to neighborhoods, right now fortunately, its on the ridge line this is the kincade fire that they were fearful that would move into lake county and sure enough. It hopped acrossemany areas, including several ridges to get into lake county and thats why they rushed to that location yesterday keeping containment lines. It looks real well it to be the same size as we saw yesterday, thanks to the hard work of the men and women of cal fire. And they took too the error because its such a remote area that they did the heavy lifting from the air using fire retardant water drops that crisscross this area fortunately, the air quality is not bad, but path power is out in middletown and i stress that because these poor folks if they are not fearful of their homes burning there inside freezing because i can tell you it is cold this morning. But thats okay as long as its not windy back to you guys. Yeah true and you said thats a closer and to the San Francisco bay area. Proper were still looking at the same situation you are well as in middletown, a lot of people. No power. And know about air quality in that said the good news this morning. We didnt see the fire grow that much more good news. We have our mobile app if you still have no power maybe year charging up your devices at those shelters that recharging stations and you can use the kron on app happy go to conference kron 4 dot com that way as well or maybe you got power last night lot of people did youre watching us on tv. Just outside calistoga where this small private school that places kids in international communities. Just went down right there she was giving us a live report weve got to communications with sarah right now shes been driving around the whole point was if you to find buildings in and show people the fire zone. What are you seeing right now youre still looking at the firefighters try to get a handle on that area. And looks like they put some water on the building kind of trying to put out those hot spots because after collapse, some flames came up and theyre just trying to put those out again. I think the biggest concern right now is making sure that this fire doesnt spread to the vegetation and create that fuel fire that weve seen with the entire can kate fire. Let me get again behind the camera because you can kind of see more clearly that this building is collapse now theres. Smoke and fire in between all of the rubble. And you can also see firefighters right in there. Gathering right now just kind of monitoring the flames. Again this is in calistoga right off the highway, one 28. The building is a business called leave now. Its an alternative leap year. Education program that sets you up with traveling abroad to places like india, get to an internship a way to kind of just not go straight to college but do this. You can see some sparks appear to and firefighters have been standing by the entire time the reason that they werent just all up in the building, no as they would trying to fight building the fire in the building was because there is this little of bridge that takes you to this building is narrow and its not very stable, but they just hiked in there and they are monitoring the situation and you can see. Some big flames in there them standing right in there so. Yeah, this is a an alternative college you know another structure burned and in the can kate fire this is not even included in the numbers which weve heard before in 100 and over a 180 structures burned 86 homes. I showed you a burned home earlier in healdsburg and you know as the sun comes up continue to look around clearly well have a better picture of this which should be fascinating to see in the daylight, especially the vegetation and already certain to get a better idea just how much of education is here. Just right next to me its pretty deep and that is a little creek. And theres just a ton of vegetation and then you go up here and that is where leave now it is up 1, 1, 6, 4, 0, highway one 28. Theres a water tender here to fire trucks and say probably over a dozen firefighters here monitoring the situation and they said theyre going to be here for a while because they want to make sure that if this does the number does spark another fire that they are ready to go making sure it doesnt spread even further has been the problem with this can kate fires the embers that fly off and then starting in sparking another fire and that is why this fire so widespread from guys are real done to santa rosa in the hills and thats because of those embers fall all and then spark another fire. This is going to be smoldering for hours you can tell theres a lot of debris and their other shining a light right now you can get better look great now. Can see the embers of building flames down and theyre this building was big if you look at it on cooler to be a big big ruling also you know what else because it starts there and you were wondering. You know just how close this was to the fire line. We got a look at it because james youre going to show us exactly where the front is of the fire and then how far office park, yes, we know will pinpoint and were using the Sonoma County emergency map. To help 0 in on exactly where sarah is but also where the current fire line is right now were going try switch over to that map for you now, so you can see it. One more. Ywere thats a pga there it is okay, so lets zoom in so shes right here, well slide the map up. She is right here to see where this line. Connects from the purple to the blue this blue is napa county calistoga is right there healdsburg is back here ways but this is one 28 1. 28 crosses into napa right there and that is exactly where sarah is lets zoom in one more click right on that spot. This is the current fire line as defined by cal fire when we all went to bed last night these were the reporter hot spots that they had. Well what you have now is Sarah Stinson right here where one 28 goes through the hills at a scene where an amber has come down and is caught that building on fire. This is why this was the worry this is why this section of napa county had to put on a fire arash put on an evacuation warning for the town of calistoga because they knew the embers were coming your direction. Well this is only up probably just a couple miles from outside this is the first reported instance that we have this morning concrete proof of embers coming off the main fire and beginning to ignite in the direction of napa county so this is why the word was put out yesterday to get your things in order to packs a car and have everything ready to go because at any moment if these fires continue to progress in your direction. We could soon see this blue which is an evacuation warning upgraded to a mandatory evacuations will which would make this purple again this is mainly for calistoga and some of the surrounding communities outside of that so be careful another great reason why you need to download the kron on app because at any moment Something Like this could happen we need to get the word out to you so if youre and watching that 24 7 stream will be able to update you as soon as we know more information that was more Team Coverage in just a couple of minutes. Welcome back 6. 54 on this wednesday morning were beginning to work ourselves out of what was a very high fire danger evening last night wind advisories expired very earlier on this morning. As winds have really continued to come down, nice look at the sunrise behind San Francisco youre going to see a less brilliant of a sunrise this morning. But thats a good thing because we have less haze in the atmosphere so going to have less color as youre looking at the horizon a to start off this wednesday morning winds really calm and santa rosa and winds are compared to where we were at last night winds all coming across the north bay to so working our way in the right direction wed like to see those winds coming down and staying calm thats what weve got the rest of the day into tonight even tomorrow for halloween, a much calmer forecast to come very dry out there still though relative humidity in the Single Digits and thats why we still do have red flag warnings in effect until at least as of this moment, oh 04 00pm tonight we could see that changing. These advisories have been issued in a. Bill also seen them that different times because of that forecast a really dying down as far as winds go a little bit sooner than initially forecasted 70s for most of your daytime highs today, a comfortable one across the bay area and actually a good chance to go outside and enjoy some of these comfortable temperatures as air quality is much improved from where has been tomorrow temperatures will remain very similar for halloween. A breezy one on friday, but nothing like the winds we had been saying and then a slightly warmer weekend. Rob all right. Thank you john lets check in on the traffic now it is. Pretty busy starting off with 92 are checking the drive across the san mateo bridge and its much heavy right now so more folks on the road heading over to the peninsula. No trouble spots to worry about no hot spots here but as you can see its definitely crawling in the westbound direction at 29 minutes to one oh one the bay bridge traffic officially backed up through the bottom of the maze 13 minutes to fremont street richmond sandra fell just picking up so little heavy from castro. But a great trip across the span and heres a new one 80 north at the one oh one split accident blocking so 80 is stacking up from 2. 80 and thats also impacting one on one which is already pretty slow. Now you have another incident on your head and so 51 minutes for north one oh one san jose to menlo park back to you, thanks a lot robin 6. 56 and weve got breaking news and its good news. Containment has doubled. We just got an update within last 2 minutes and cal fire says now 30 contain the kincade fire has doubled containment to 30 per cent it was 15 when you went to bed and early this morning. They just upgraded that so it only grew about a 1000 acres from yesterday morning to today. A good team double that is great announcer 5 million kids use ecigarettes. Its an epidemic fueled by juul with their kidfriendly flavors. San francisco voters stopped the sale of flavored ecigarettes. But then juul, backed by big tobacco, wrote prop c to weaken ecigarette protections. The San Francisco chronicle reports prop c is an audacious overreach, threatening to overturn the ban on flavored products approved by voters. Prop c means more kids vaping. Thats a dangerous idea. Vote no on juul. No on big tobacco. No on prop c. Well let me zoom in the whole building just collapsed. This morning, the kincade fire takes down a building while we are live live on the air with kron 4 Sarah Stinson and you can see. Its smoldering there. That is an instance where the fire jumped embers. This building on fire. Luckily, nobody was hurt it was in the evacuation zone. It was yeah and the new numbers this morning which have just come in in the last handful of minutes now. Does show the fire did grow, yes, its now 76,800 and some odd which is probably about 700. Some got some 100 acre jump in size from yesterday, however, a big good news is the containment doubling overnight, yes so even though they had some winds overnight and held the line we just found out they did better. They made double the progress he was 15 contained and now. It is 30 contained that is a lot of progress 30 containment. Those are the new numbers coming in. We also unfortunately have
