The California Department of Public Health is targeting Santa Clara County along with 10 others for a surge in new cases the south bay county is where the countrys first covid19 death was recorded, but the concern is the growing number of hospitalizations. The state says drivers of this growth could be the increase in testing or people from neighboring counties coming to Santa Clara County for care. Despite the number of hospitalizations going up the increase in the absolute number of patients in hospitals is low considering the amount of people who live in Santa Clara County. As officials monitor these outbreaks people can follow along on a new state website.
