There hasnt been much of a commute between santa rosa and petaluma. Its understandable since people have been tending to other things. This is a look at 80 westbound. Vacaville, fairfield and vallejo. This has been okay. Traffic has been a little slow on the carquinez bridge. If you are driving from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze, its taking 18 minutes. When you get to the bay bridge there is a slight delay in some lanes. On monday, a lot of the main roads were closed, 37 and 101 this morning we have closures but most are on side roads and not the freeways. You can see that as we push in, traffic on highway 101 has been open but many of the off ramps are closed. Hopper, river and bicentennial. After that it does look okay from santa rosa to petaluma. Theres not been much of a commute in this area as people have been asked to stay off the roads and people have been doing that. Traffic has been very light. Highway 128 in and out of calistoga is still closed northwest of calistoga and highway 128 in the lake areas that area is still closed for fire at city. Lets move to the commute on 580 westbound, altamont pass. Traffic is a little slow after 205 toward livermore. More traffic no major traffics on interstate 880 and in the east bay can you. Highway 24 has opened. We had some trouble overnight in the caldecott tunnel. All the tunnels are open. The westbound bay bridge, traffic is light with a few lanes a little congested. For five evacuees unable to keep their pets with them, marin humane is offering free boarding. The facility is available for all domestic pets even reptiles and birds and some barnyard animals. Officials say the animals can be brought to the shelter. The staff will accept them 24 hours a day. So far the shelter has accepted 70 dogs, 120 cats and about 60 birds and reptiles. Most in the city of santa rosa. 25,000 people have been forced out of their homes to evacuate in the Sonoma County Sheriffs Office said his office is investigating about 400 reports of people still listed as missing. Here is a map of the fires. Two burning on the sonoma and napa county line have merged into one. The tubbs fire that burn from calistoga into santa rosa is 10 contained. It has burned nearly 35,000 acres. The atlas fire spans napa and solano county. It has burned almost 44,000 acres and is 7 contained. On the eastern flank, officials are talking about letting people return to their neighborhoods. The number of firefighters working the atlas fire has tripled.
