Time is now 4 17, sal is here, you got an update on our commute, what happened in san rafael and elsewhere. Thats right, dave. You do want to mention that highway 101 is open in san rafael after there was an overnight deadly crash there at night near san pedro road, the loans are open and traffic is moving well. Be careful out there. The road conditions, the driving conditions arent optimal and you could get into trouble if youre driving too fast. Start with gilroy, northbound 101 driving from gilroy to san jose moving along pretty well if you are driving up into the silicon valley, it continues to be a very nice commute all the way through, and no major issues but, again, its wet as you have been hearing and its going to be you should give yourself an extra 10 or 15 minutes at least this morning if youre on a schedule driving up to the bay bridge toll plaza, its also wet there as well. You can see traffic is moving along very nicely. And heres a picture of San Francisco airport. We may have delays later, going to be checking that for you, but any kind of weather usually delays flights in and outlater in the morning. Right now not a lot of activity here. I always like this shot, mark, 419. Where would i go on a trip today . Where would you like to go . Me too. Im thinking a vacation. Maybe hawaii. Maybe yes, i think they will be working on that for spring break, sounds like a good plan. Outside right now we still have to deal with some of the downpours out there, at least the rainfall from the night. Theres not a lot of coverage out there but we cannot guarantee a dry forecast for today but still plenty of breaks in the action. So there we go, the radar right now, and if you can see in portions of Sonoma County outside of santa rosa, there we have one little cell here approaching calistoga and saint helena, moving the maps around closer to San Francisco and oakland, this one cell approach in the approaching the east bay as well. So not completely dry. Looks like a little bit of a heavier cell with the rainfall picking up out toward walnut creek if we were to click on this one cell and a rainfall rate of nearly 1 2 an hour. So this will be a sudden jump in the rainfall as this approaches walnut creek over the next 15 to 20 minutes. The wider view out in the pacific and a big circulation and with this area of low pressure we are going to hold onto the chance of a shower for today and then looks like another round of showers move into the bay area tomorrow morning at about this time. Current numbers out there right now we have 50s to right around 60 degrees, it is pretty mild, so you dont need the thick coat or the sweater to stay warm because we are still on the warm side of it system and as a result snow levels are high up in the sierra as well, up above 7500, up above 8000 feet. The big rainfall totals for the coastal hills in Sonoma County and out toward bent loma as well, san rafael nearly 3 4 inch. One site in napa showing you 8 10inch but tapering off for san jose at. 01. Guerneville 1. 66 and healdsburg 1. 60. Heres the deal for today, cloud cover and the chance of a shower throughout the day. Im thinking the highest chance will be for this morning, 8 00, 58 to 63 degrees, by 4 00 temperatures in the 60s, so heres the deal, we just showed you a few scattered showers on the radar, we are going to hold onto that chance throughout the day but also we could have plenty of sunny breaks as well so one of those deal we are going to have sun, some passing clouds and the possibility of a popup shower. Heres what happens tomorrow morning. Another run of showers so this could be more of a factor for the friday morning commute as another cell moves in. There are a band of showers moving into the bay area tomorrow morning. Temperatures for today in the 60s for afternoon highs, approaching 70 degrees, pretty mild out there and here is a look ahead, your fiveday forecast, some scattered showers for your friday, mostly for the morning hours, the weekend will start out dry and then on sunday we will bring in the chance of some showers, especially up in the north bay by the afternoon hours and maybe more showers into monday but i guess the timing, its not at least those torrential downpours from last night, not really moving through this morning so thats kind of maybe giving them time to get everything ready up there in the fire zone, especially, thats our big concern. Yeah, and im thinking last night was probably the biggest event out of all of them. Okay. At least we are not talking about continuous stream rainfall rates. Thats whats good. Good. Thank you, mark. Thanks, mark. It is 4 22. A long awaited tribute to a former San Francisco supervisor, harvey mill. Coming up a look at the art installation unveiled in his honor. R.
