The victim, according to the chp, may have been walking or riding a bike, along that road. The driver, who did stop and is cooperating with investigators was not hurt. We expect to get an update from cal fire later this morning about a wildfire burning in napa county, near lake berryessa. Between rag canyon road where the fire started. And markley merena. That fire has burned 55 acres and is 65 contained. Smoke is visible across much of the county. But crews were able to move in quickly and stop the fire from burning fresh ground. They quickly called in eight local firefighting planes to help. People need to realize that just because a fire starts, not every fire is going to be devastating like weve seen the last several years. They were on it before i even knew there was a i saw the saw the smoke. Nine families were evacuated from the areas. The fire is under investigation. When a southbound train hit and killed someone near the castro street crossing in mountain view. Three hours earlier, a person who was trespassing on the tracks was hit and killed at the burlingame station. No other information was released about either person. And a woman died in livermore yesterday morning when her car was hit by an ace train. The crash happened just east of the livermore station, where police say the crossing signals and lights were working. Officials have not released any other details about that crash. Time is now 5 06. The chp searching now for a shooter who opened fire on interstate 880 in oakland, injuring a driver. It happened last night about 6 30 in the northbound lanes near the 98th avenue offramp. Thats a Bay Area Police officer risking his life to save a man who was trapped inside that burning car. Now, that officer is a former mma fighter. And now is being called a hero. The rescue happened saturday night on kirt ner road in fremont, each of the 680 boulevard exit. Ktvus Azenith Smith spoke with that officer about that rescue. When fremont Police Officer arrived on the scene of no time to think. Cell phone video from a witness capture what is he was up against. A lexus on its side, its engine and hood, heavily involved in flames. The car hit halfway inside. When i got out of my car, people started yelling at me, that theres somebody trapped in there. It became pretty clear that i was going to have to get inside the car and drag the guy out. In the video, you see officer travasince key open the hatch. I was able to grab his hand. And the acting Homeland Security director says the expedited process will reduce a backlog of more than 900,000 cases in immigration courts.
