San jose is 60 degrees. Livermore coming at about 58 and yeah, that is warmer than this time yesterday at an oakland it is seven degrees warmer. A kind of tells you where we are going today. We are going to start warming up. Theres the marine layer. It is closer than i was yesterday but not making a full push in this morning. Those little went out over the water that is helping it to stay away and mix down a little bit. Today is going to be a warmer day so 65 of the coast, 75 around the bay, another Beautiful Day but then we are going to start feeling those low 90s so that is the difference. Lets go back to the headlines. Happening today, Governor Newsom will hold a noontime News Coverage and tells the very latest on covid19 and how california is dealing with it. As a number of virus cases surge, the governor is now slowly done reopening plans and 23 counties are on the States Coronavirus watchlist. That includes three bay area counties, contra costa, moran and solano counties. Also california just set a new oneday record for the number of covid19 cases. According to Johns Hopkins university, the report says 284,000 people in california have tested positive for the coronavirus. An increase of 10,000 cases from this time yesterday. More than 6500 people have died here in california. 110 peep hole died yesterday. And 4. 9 million californians have been tested for the coronavirus. Several bay area counties are changing their reopening plans as the number of coronavirus cases keep rising. More businesses in Santa Clara County can reopen soon, but in San Francisco, some of the reopening plans are being delayed. Reporter Santa Clara County been straightened out with the state, saying it has resubmitted the request for variance clearing the selfpay to move forward with plans to reopen more businesses on monday, july 13th. Getting the variance granted does not mean that the virus is doing better or the disease is doing better. As a matter of fact, it is doing much worse. Jase was less than a mile from his home watching fireworks at a Friends Birthday Party when he was shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. Police say they are investigating leads and are interviewing the mother of a 16 yearold boy who apparently wants to turn himself in for the shooting. Im just waiting for investigators to tell us we have a suspect, hes in so custody, and, you know, the investigation is over and we have somebody and they go to jail. I have to be the voice for him. Fire investigators continue to look for the cause of a fire in the east bay city of oakland. Ed started near east cypress road in summer lake drive just after noon yesterday and people were evacuated. Firefighters battled the flames and contained it in about two hours. The Evacuation Order was lifted. So far no reports of any injuries or any serious damage. And near gilroy, the cruise fire is now 50 contained. Firefighters kept the plot flames was riding after it burned more than eight square miles. The Evacuation Order is still in effect for the area between the highway 152 north of the Gilroy Hot Springs to prune dale avenue. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Three wildfires nine miles east of stateline nevada have now merged. They are calling at the numbers fire. It is still out of control this morning. It has burned 28 square miles near the town of gardnerville. 300 homes are in danger and an Evacuation Order is in place. Several buildings, including one home have burned. You can even see the smoke as far away as lake tahoe. The cause of the fire is under investigation. As i took a look at where the cruise fire is, 54 degrees, a few degrees warmer, wind running 5 to 10 miles per hour. So that is a little bit more than we were yesterday morning but im hopeful that they can get some containment again today. At least this morning. Not expecting anything to ramp up today so that is good news and hopefully they will have a good day because temperatures are set to go up. We saw 40s in the north bay yesterday, petaluma right now already at 53 degrees. In vallejo they are at 60, martinez is 60, lafayette is at 60, we do not see this at 4 00 in the morning yesterday thats for sure. San francisco 53, palo alto about 57, as he had done to this selfpay, you can see morgan hill about 51 degrees, but 58 at san jose state. That is just to show we are going to warm up. Our marine layer has tried to move in, it is much closer but it does not believe in the bay. We have a few low clouds out there. You are likely to see some of the patchy fog but not a ton. The San Francisco supervisor is introducing a measure to make it illegal to call 911 on someone based on racial or other bias. Reporter the centers for Disease Control and prevention guidelines recommends that states with their virus restrictions, they should also have a coronavirus test turnaround time of two days or less. An Associated Press survey found californias average turnaround time from initial testing to reporting the results back to the patients was 48 to 72 hours, depending on the lab. Deborah berger is with National Nurses united. Any time over two days it seems to be outrageous to me. The turnaround times in the bay area alone are hit and miss. Reporter depending on the lab, results can come back within just a few short hours to quite a few long days. In many cases, the lab may not have the capacity or the personnel or the materials necessary. Were going to see worming today in the 90s, we will see it more prevalent. Tomorrow be warm to hot depending on if youre inland. High pressure is going to start to dominate and that sticks with us until midweek when we will see a little bit of a cooldown. I mentioned High Pressures going to be dominant, check out scottsdale where it is 91 degrees right now. So that is where that High Pressure is and it is going to strengthen it we are going to feel the effects of that, not to that degree thankfully that they will but it will be different. Seeing it 66 degrees in oakland, 53 in novato, and livermore about 58, it is warmer than this time yesterday for most spots. Oakland one of the men concord warmer than we were yesterday. We have been under the influence of this lowpressure system, but as we move towards tomorrow, that pressure is going to build in and this High Pressure is a very strong one. It really has the characteristics of bringing some serious heat so thats why we are going to sustain over the next few days some warmer temperatures. Heres a look at where we are at with cloud cover this morning. We havent had a lot of marine layer were going to see less of it as the week goes on as High Pressure buildout because it helps to compress the marine layer. I think tomorrow we will see less. 68 San Francisco, 75 oakland, 80 in fremont that we are going to see 90 in santa rosa, 91 and livermore, 91 in morgan hill so you start to get the idea that heat is on the way. Looking inland you can see we just kind of ride those 90s right on through the weekend. So just be mindful if you are in our inland communities, we are going to have some heat out there. As far as fire danger is concerned, you see those numbers, you know it is time to be extra vigilant to make sure youre doing your part to keep everybody safe.
